  1. 2 is different than 1. They also have zero interest in the game, so it’ll be a pain in the butt keeping them semi-still
  2. My wife is headed out of town, and I’m not taking 4 and 7 year old girls to the game. I hate that I’m missing it considering it’s about 12 minutes from my house
  3. I thought they did a decent job. Missed a few calls, but that happens with every crew every game. The jv game was the one that was bad
  4. And yes, the reffing in the JV game was poor, and felt biased, and I say that with only a minimal rooting interest in the game. The HF ineligible varsity player pushed off blatantly with a forearm nearly every time he tried to create separation with no calls, but must have attempted 20 free throws, many on touch fouls or slight bumps on contact he created barreling down the lane. I did enjoy watching the youngest Davis absolutely light it up in the 4th quarter and will them back into the game. Nothing the refs could really call on the 4 or 5 deep threes he hit in the last 6 minutes.
  5. Agreed. But he got the ball in the same spot twice in a row, and the second time 3 players were ready to collapse on him, creating the turnover. He was basically the only option on the play, and it appeared the play was designed to get him the ball in that spot, as he is the point guard. But I’m not the coach, and maybe something else was supposed to happen to free up someone else, and HF just played it really well.
  6. Pretty sure I heard him tell someone he’s out two weeks, which doesn’t bode well for game 3 vs Silsbee.
  7. HJ fan here, sitting on the HJ side. Looked to me on the technical foul that he screamed directly down at the player who had just fallen off his back onto the ground. Either way, should’ve absolutely gotten one for a push I he delivered to an HF player earlier in the half, albeit at a less crucial moment. I did think there was a foul on the turnover with 11 seconds left, but I didn’t like the option of giving your guy the ball hemmed in between the half court line and the out of bounds line, where he had nowhere to go with the ball and no angles to pass once he was triple teamed.
  8. HJ turnover with 9 ticks left, and HF scores. HF wins 40-39. HJ looked terrible tonight. Credit to HF for making the game ugly and pulling it off
  9. Hawks ball, hawks timeout 25 seconds left. 39-38 HJ leads
  10. Hawks up 39-38, 33.7 seconds left, horns shooting 2. Missed 1st. Missed 2nd
  11. Hawks tie it up at 35 with 330 left. Get a rebound and pick up a dumb tech
  12. Horns up 30-28 with 2:30 left in the 3rd. Some interesting calls and no calls being made
  13. HJ up 23-20 at the half. Too many missed shots for the hawks, too many missed free throws for the horns
  14. 23-17, hawks. 1:45 left in the half. Davis is ice cold or the hawks would be up 15. 22 down low is too much for HF to handle
  15. Tip off for varsity in 13 minutes. I’m sitting on the HJ side tonight. Tough for me, being an HJ alum and an HF transplant, but I gotta root for a district championship tonight
  16. Hell of a game. HJ comes back from nearly 20 down to tie, HF up 2 late, HJ with a 3 to win it that goes off the glass and halfway down before popping out. HF jv wins 61-59, mostly on the shoulders of their varsity move in who isn’t eligible until next season
  17. Nice to see HF getting some support. Stands full for the jv game, and they have some good players. I came to a game a few years ago and sat on the HF side and there might’ve been 20 people for a varsity game
  18. It’s my understanding an important HJ player is out tonight with injury.
