  1. Watching the reactions of the entire BC team, and especially the pitcher who turned a circle in celebration, and the catcher who immediately ran out to hug the pitcher, with neither even waiting to see the call.... Hard to believe that pitch was even close to borderline.
  2. Gotcha. Think I know, but can't place the name. It's all good
  3. sure did. seems like you know me... wanna give me a hint, or what?
  4. My mother and I used to work at the same school, and I ended up behind her one day on the way to work. She went through a yellow light, I stopped behind her, and the vehicle next to me ran the red light (marginally, in a way most cops would let slide). Burmeister was at the cross street, and pulled that vehicle as well as my mom over, and gave them both tickets for running the red light. I was literally 3 car lengths behind her and clearly saw that she was entering the intersection as the light turned yellow. My mom tried to fight it in municipal court, but the judge was old and senile (asked me 3 times in 2 minutes how old I was), and just went along with burmeister and his evidence (a video that showed the vehicles but not the light). If you're ever in that situation I believe you can ask for a trial with a jury, and I highly recommend it.
  5. i was at ETBU for 3 of the years he was there, and the dude could ball. he definitely had D1 ability. I had no idea he had gone on to play overseas
  6. It rained all week, and they delayed games all week, but in the finals that the home team was about to lose, after playing in rain the off and on the whole game, one out away from finishing the inning that would've given it to Lamar, they call the game in a manner that reverses the score back in favor of the home team? And after only 19 minutes? Yeah, I'm fairly confident there was some homer crap going on
  7. I actually am the one who emailed deadspin about this... Notice the credit for the tip to Lucas at the end of the article
  8. Theoretically. But one would wonder if the game would've been called if the roles were reversed, or if they might would've tried a little harder to complete the inning, since the tourney was being held at Liberty.
  9. It's also worth noting that the tourney was held at Liberty college...
  10. For those that didn't read the article and want the short version, lamar made the finals of the inaugural National Invitational Softball Tournament, which as best as I can tell is the new NIT tourney of college softball. Lamar lost to liberty in the first game of the finals, leading to a final winner take all game. in the top of the sixth inning Lamar scored 5 runs to take a 6-3 lead, then got two outs in the bottom of the sixth. Heavy rain came, and after 19 minutes tourney officials declared the field unplayable and called the game, with the stats reverting back to the last completed inning. At the end of the 5th inning Lamar was down 3-1, so Liberty was declared the tournament winner. Pretty cheap way to win, if you ask me.
  11. If this is true, I wonder if they'll be charging this Darwin Moore guy with the 2nd degree felonies he's admitting to...
  12. Led off with two singles, then 3rd baseman air mailed a throw to first on a sac bunt attempt. Both runners scored and the batter made it all the way to 3rd
  13. BC in good position to steal a game here. They threw a guy with no wins on the year (but with decent numbers) against the tiger ace. If they can win this one they'll be set up well to advance
  14. BC goes up 4-1, scoring 2 on a bad throw. Now have a runner on 3rd with no outs
  15. BC scores on a groundout to go up 2-1 in the 3rd. 2 outs, runner on 2nd
  16. Silsbee with runners on 1st and 2nd, no outs in the bottom of the 2nd
  17. I was going to go, but my neighbor bailed on me. I think I'm just gonna stay home and listen to the broadcast
