  1. 29-7 after one. First time seeing these tigers this season. Incredible how fast they are. HJ isn't even coming close to handling the press
  2. Silsbee is I think 1-8 from the line, but they've rebounded every miss
  3. HJ giving up layups on the break, even when they look like they should have enough guys back to slow it down
  4. Pretty much my feelings on the matter as well, but there's always a slim chance, so we'll see what happens.
  5. I'll be there tonight... I'm sitting on the Silsbee side with a coworker who's got family on the team, but i'll be (quietly) rooting for HJ.
  6. Silsbee is 30 points better than HJ this year, and they've already beaten HJ by 30 once. That being said, Silsbee has been a heavy favorite for the better part of the last decade against the hawks, and the hawks have won a few, and made many more of the games very close despite an athletic/depth advantage for the tigers. I expect this to be a 25-30 point game. This is the weakest HJ team in 11 or 12 years, at least, and possibly the strongest Silsbee team ever. Silsbee should win handily. But in a rivalry game, you just never, ever know...
  7. glad they won. equally glad I didn't have to see this barn burner in person.
  8. Not sure where you're at, but I might could help with that
  9. You maim the crap out of them, though
  10. Nope. But if your family was starving, and you could relocate somewhere and feed them, even if going there was illegal, I bet you'd do it. I'm not saying that they're not breaking the law, but I'd do anything short of stealing to feed my family.
  11. Not arguing that fact. Craig just seemed to be in disbelief when I told him how hard it was to gain citizenship, or even renew a visa for that matter. I was merely providing two examples of friends of mine who came over on legal visas, paid for a specialized American education, landed specialized jobs, and then had their visa renewals denied despite the backing of some very powerful companies.
  12. But if you could make 10x the money by risking it and driving to a job 20 miles away, instead of walking to a job to make $2 an hour, you'd probably do what you had to do to feed your family. I know I would.
  13. agreed. that being said, the potheads I've known in the past all drove high, and we see very few news articles about people who are high on pot crashing into and killing people, while we see articles daily about drunk drivers doing so. but I'm certainly in favor of the same penalties for smoking and driving as there are for drinking and driving. I'm not sure what kind of test they could implement for checking how high someone is, but the smell of burnt weed inside the car could be an automatic DUI.
  14. [Hidden Content] It is difficult to get a green card. Most immigrants do not qualify. IF you can get one, and hold it for five years, then you can apply for US citizenship. From that point you're looking at another 6 months to 2 years before citizenship, but again, all of that is a moot point if you can't get a green card.
  15. They don't let them expire. That implies that they could renew them. They expire after a set period of time. It's my understanding there's some sort of lottery system for renewal, but only a very small percentage of people get drawn. I have a friend who just got "deported" back to England because she couldn't get her visa renewed. I have another who's probably about to get sent back to Scotland. Both of them came here for their education, one got a bachelors degree, the other her masters, and both got trained to work locally in plants, but can't get renewals. And these are SPECIALIZED workers. A common laborer has even less of a chance. Because it's next to impossible to become a citizen, and because you can't simply continue to renew your visa at will, foreigners go from being on a legal visa to being illegal aliens. And again, I don't blame them.
