Another great win!

Like Drew said, Fredericksburg is very good this year. They’re 26-1 and their only loss was to a 5A school that ended the season at 21-4. Canyon is always good, and are 26-1. They just beat 25-0 Levelland by 25 in the playoffs. Brownsboro is 26-1 and accounts for one of Fairfield’s two losses. I haven’t seen any of these teams play personally, but I would think any of them are capable of beating HJ. Fortunately HJ will only have to face two of them at most the rest of the way out.

Paetow won 42-39

They are, but this region is waaaaay down. I hope they make it to state, but I don’t think it’ll be pretty if they get there. I was expecting Yates to go and take the beating for the region. But that’s why you play the game, so if they go anything can happen.

Pretty frustrating as an HJ fan to see this confirmation that they had a real chance to advance out of the region if they’d kept it together, but I’m thrilled to see Silsbee stick it to the Yates AAUs

HJ will not have as many possessions. They're going to hold the ball and slow things waaaaaay down against HJ. I don't necessarily think China Spring is any better or worse than Silsbee, but their style is much better suited to keep the score reasonable against HJ.

They're 21-6, so they're obviously a good team. in 18 of those wins they've scored less than 55 points. It's obvious what kind of style they play. They're not going to try and run with HJ. When they break the press they're going to set up in the half court and eat the clock and try and wait until they get their shot. I'd expect them to do this even more against a high powered offense like HJ. Their best defense will be eating the clock.

China spring has had a solid season. 20-6, and 5 of those 6 losses are to great teams. That said, they average about 45 points a game. They’ve cracked 50 four times all year and 60 once. I don’t see HJ getting close to 100 in this game, but 70-80 seems likely, and 50 should be more than enough.

Me as well. They’ve had some great seasons with disappointing ends.

UH won 43-41. My buddy’s niece plays for them.

It can’t be a good feeling seeing the hawks coming up your side of the bracket after they beat the #15 team in the state by 63.
