  1. On a side note, the locals are calling them the Magnificent Seven
  2. definitely understand. I looked for common opponents, and there were none. The only tentative link between the two i could find was that Grady beat Texline by 3. Happy beat them 3 times, by 1 and 13 in district, and by 7 in the regional finals to make it to state, and then Avinger beat Happy today by 9. but that's some voodoo math :). Hopefully when they get on the court Avinger will find a way to match up well with them.
  3. Tough matchup for Avinger. Grady's 3 losses are to two private schools (records of 33-7 and 27-11) and Kermit, who went 30-3 in 3A. Grady also forfeited a tourney game. That being said, Avinger only has two losses on the season for a record of 33-2, and their only loss listed on Maxpreps is a 2-point loss to Martins Mill, who's had a very strong team the last few years, and was a regional semi-finalist in 2A this season.
  4. Did I miss something with Osweiler? I seem to recall him playing okay. That's a lot of money
  5. What will that have coming in next season to fill the void?
  6. they played yesterday during school hours if i understand correctly. HF boys won 3-1. Girls won, don't know the score.
  7. it needs to be an adult tournament as in actual adults... old, overweight, over the hill. not adult as in no longer in high school but still too young to drink.
  8. My stepmom is from Avinger, population 444. I hunted there for a few years. It would be cool to see them win it. They've had some good teams the last couple of years, but i knew they'd have a shot this year. Their 6'4" soph post was the district's player of the year last year as a freshman, and is likely going to be an all-stater this year. They have 5 sophmores, one junior, and one senior on this year's squad, so they oughta be back in the mix next season as well.
  9. They must be bad if you aren't rooting for them and they live 5 minutes from you Silsbee is our biggest rival, and i want nothing more than for them to bring a championship home to SETX.
  10. Estacado and Lamesa each finished the season with a record of 25-8, and Levelland is currently at 25-11. Lamesa lost to Levelland in the regional quarters, and Estacado lost to Wylie in the regional semis. so the top of that district was pretty competitive.
  11. Judging by schedule and results, I wouldn't think Levelland is any better than Navasota or Lufkin Hudson. Now, could either of those teams have beaten Silsbee under the right circumstances? Sure. They were both very solid teams. But Silsbee won both of those games comfortably, and i expect them to win this one comfortably as well.
  12. You should be on the radio... That way I could change the channel.
  13. Congrats, rattlers. Hate that it's not going to be a Hawks/tigers matchup tomorrow
  14. A while back I said that only a couple of things could stop Silsbee... Cold shooting and refs calling a tight game. Silsbee endured both tonight. Fortunately it came against Hudson, who wasn't quite good enough to take advantage of it
