  1. More like 25, and only 40 minutes from Buna. Seems like it would be a reasonable place to play.
  2. Wheatley played a mediocre schedule and looking through it i'm not impressed at all. they've lost two games all season, but those games were to just about the only two really good teams they've played. Navasota is a really good team, and i like their chances in this one, just as i would've liked HJ's.
  3. Sterling beat Furr by 6 and 11, and lost to them by 8 this year. Silsbee isn't going to have any problems this game.
  4. Let me start by saying that Trump won't beat Clinton. But hypothetically, if he did, It's still the VP, and if by some miracle Trump does a decent job his VP will be next in line to be the frontrunner during the next election cycle.
  5. HJ won 11-0, running their district win streak to 20 games!!
  6. If she was truly remorseful she wouldn't have repeated the shady, backhanded thievery and misappropriations that got her in trouble with the law and fired from her last job. Of course, the real credit here goes to the superintendent who looked past that criminal record to hire her, just as he did for Naomi Lawrence Lee, who, shockingly enough, is also currently facing criminal charges for theft at BISD after Thomas knowingly hired her with a record of theft from her previous job.
  7. yup. Kountze could do it, though. their record isn't as impressive as in years past, but they played a ridiculous pre-district schedule, and i think it will have prepared them well for the playoffs. i wouldn't be surprised if they advanced to state.
  8. this is what i was referencing, rather than based on the seasons they've had this year. But Navasota has been favored over HJ most of their matchups in the last 10-12 years, and HJ always finds a way to beat them. They definitely can't be happy about seeing Saladin again.
  9. still has three years of eligibility left, right??
  10. There's no way Navasota wants anything to with HJ at this point, right?
  11. almost put biggest game of the year, but thought these two were pretty even.
  12. Any that don't line up with his strict, conservative beliefs. I feel we need a republican right now to help fix the economy, but I worry that cruz will spend a lot more time and effort trying to legislate morality, which i'm firmly against. As I mentioned earlier, I can take the good with the bad from both sides in relation to my ideology, but I'm not going to vote for a republican to fix the economy if I'm concerned he'll put social issues ahead of the economy, especially if I can't stand his stance on those social issues.
  13. As a social liberal, I have a hard time voting for someone who comes off as so conservative that they would try and push legislation that I feel would discriminate against certain groups of people. I also have a problem with the shady things he's been pulling to try and sway voters in the primaries, and he reeks of hypocrisy to me after being one of the leaders in the charge to question Obama's citizenship while living almost exactly the same situation. As for his policy and record, it's tough to gauge that, because he's basically done nothing beyond being a good debater or talker (kinda like our current president).
  14. Kinda feels like you don't care what the old administration did as long as they were black. So who's wrong here? As for a couple of your previous posts... My wife has taught at a BISD elementary school for 7 years, and her room has been above capacity EVERY year, including the years before the BOM took over. To address another of your comments, the fact that most of the principals are still in place means that the BOM has kept the principals who DID NOT STEAL OR CHEAT in their places, so I don't think you need to worry about racial discrimination in the administration. I also teach in the district, and my white principal just retired, and is about to be replaced by an African American. My wife's African American principal is retiring at the end of the year, and her replacement is African American. Again, not seeing discrimination there. As for the racial makeup of the board and the superintendent, I could care less, as long as they're not stealing my tax dollars and have the kids' best interest at heart. I wanted nothing more than for Chargois to succeed, but he was just Thomas part 2. So that being said, we now have a super who's doing the right thing with the district, and a BOM that is cleaning house. That needed to be done. I'm really not understanding how with a straight face you can say that changes weren't needed in the first place.
  15. Was going to make this point myself. A very valid point.
  16. Hey, I'm left handed, drive a Toyota Tundra, and have hairy armpits. I'm halfway there. Do I get the job?
  17. As a moderate, I have core values from both sides that I won't change to toe a party line, which is why i refuse to label myself one way or another. That being said, I AM willing to examine the current climate of the country and make concessions one way or another and vote for the candidate that I feel is best for our country. This election, for example, I'm willing to forgoe my liberal beliefs and vote for Rubio because I personally feel he is the best candidate for the job. That being said, if we have a Cruz/Clinton or Trump/Clinton election I'm just going to stay home because I can't bring myself to vote for any of the three without feeling sick to my stomach.
