I don’t think they’re in. I’m just stating that if you go by that statement, they probably should be.

That’s because this year they have no chance to get in with the way things played out. And who in the top 7 wouldn’t be favorited by 14 over FSU right now? But I do agree they’re good enough, and have argument to be in. Just not over the other 6. I think they’re a clear number 7 here with all factors considered, even though they’re better than FSU. They’re a great argument for an expanded playoff, though. So are OU and Oregon, as much as I dislike both of them.

Texas has the Bama win, Bama has the Georgia win. FSU is undefeated, and Georgia’s loss was to Bama by 3 after an undefeated season in the SEC. OSU needed the Michigan win, and didn’t get it (Michigan was in the same boat, but got their marquis win). I do think they’re good enough to deserve to be in a playoff, but i don’t agree that they’ve had the season to be grouped with the 4 teams fighting for the final 2 spots. We got the playoff cluster we needed 10 years ago the year before they’re finally doing the right thing and expanding.

They are to rank the best teams in order, and that's what they do. Just keep that word in mind, best teams." based on this statement (which we all know the committee plays by no rules and does whatever the heck they want), FSU is out. But also based on that statement, Georgia should probably be in. I can see them using this standard to leave FSU out, but not to put Georgia in. only one SEC team makes it, and Bama won the SEC by beating Georgia. You can’t put Georgia in after Bama just beat them, but I don’t see them leaving the best conference out of the playoffs when they have two 1-loss teams with those losses being to two teams in the playoff discussion.

Diehard Texas fan here. There are 6 deserving teams. Two are locked in, and two are getting screwed. If Texas gets in, someone got screwed for them to get there. If they don’t, they got screwed for someone else to get there. This is an absolute cluster.

It’s a valid point. Thank god they have the win over Bama. As a counter point, the second best team in the ACC just lost a game facing a 3rd string qb who went 8/21 for 55 yards. Louisville lost that game as much as FSU won it. How bad was THAT conference?

Hell of a game. When Carthage drove 70 yds or whatever in under two minutes and got the 2-pt to tie, then got the stop for a fg in OT, it felt like it was over.

this isn't much different from what happens every year at silsbee before the football boys get their basketball legs back under them. not sure what there is to be worried or upset about.

Bellville has been fantastic, and I expect them to win comfortably. That said, if this actually happens, Bellville is going home.

Did I miss Pine Tree? I keep up with them because I spent a lot of time out there in college with my college roommate.

If Lovejoy doesn't pull it off, I don't know that anyone does. Lovejoy is good, good. Beat Melissa 28-7, who SOC beat by a touchdown last week. They played a tough schedule as well, which will have them prepared. The Lovejoy/SOC game this week is the one I'm most interested in in the state not involving an SETX team.

Jasper slows them down, but I don’t see them stopping them. I’m beyond being a believer at this point.
