  1. I made that point and a certain poster can’t get over it. That said, I never said they weren’t good. I just said it was hard to tell how good based on that schedule. But the last two weeks have shown just how good they are. It should be a great game. Silsbee is a lot better than WOS or Madisonville, and they played a game already this year against the slot-T, albeit against a much lesser team. Can’t wait to watch this one.
  2. HF did a great job fighting all night, but man did they hurt themselves all game. Had to be close to 20 penalties. Some of those were caused by facing a really good team, but most were mental errors or personal fouls. Not to mention all of the turnovers early to put themselves in a big hole they couldn’t ever make it all the way out of
  3. I’m behind, but seeing the start of it. Hate that, and don’t like to see our boys acting like this.
  4. Horns have 5-yarded themselves to death tonight in some huge spots
  5. I know my broadcast is behind. But HF got a huge stop on 4th down, got a big gain to about the Cuero 30, then had 5 mistakes in a row (slip, drop, penalty, sack, personal foul) that led to Cuero ending up with the ball on the HF 30
  6. Horns showing signs of life. Come out in the 2nd half and get a stop and anything can happen. If Cuero finds a way to score on their first drive I don’t see the horns finding a way back from that.
  7. Cuero is good. No surprises there. HF has to take better care of the ball if there’s any chance to make this a ballgame.
  8. I’ve now talked to three people, one who was involved, one who was on the sideline, and one high up in the district. It happened, with pics and video to prove it. It was reported to the UIL, but somehow isn’t illegal?
  9. I wasn't there, but heard the story directly from an exceptionally reliable source.
  10. I found out this morning that a Cuero coach in plain clothes snuck onto the HF sideline at last week's game and the constable had to run him off. Kind of BS if you ask me. I hope the UIL does something about it, but not sure what the ramifications are.
  11. I'm seeing a lot of links between the rangers and ohtani. That would be cool, but if we can get Hader and Snell that would be just as good imo. realistically just Hader and we are a much improved team next year. If our closers had saved 70% of their chances the rangers win the division by probably 7-8 games. One more interesting development: Clayton Kershaw is Rangers GM Chris Young's neighbor in Dallas. He's out for a few months, and there's no telling what he does when he comes back, but it's worth a gamble.
  12. He says Palmore was picking up an order at about 7:45 p.m. According to workers at Papa Johns, he was mad at the staff for some reason. They described him as 'possibly intoxicated.' Sullins says after Palmore walked out the door, he threw a pizza box toward the father, who was preparing to walk inside to order a pizza. The father asked Palmore what he was doing. According to witnesses, Palmore pulled out a nine millimeter pistol from his pocket and pointed it at the father. Sullins says the son was getting out of the passenger side of the truck, saw Palmore pull the gun and point it at the father, and pulled out his handgun from a holster and fired four to six shots at Palmore. Palmore was struck in the head and died at the scene, in front of the father's pickup truck. Sullins says it appears Palmore didn't fire any shots.
  13. Chief Sullins says Waylon Mark Palmore, 51, of Kirbyville, died outside the Papa Johns in the Madison Plaza shopping center on Main Street in Lumberton. No charges were filed against the son and he cooperated with investigators. "It's pretty much cut and dried," Sullins told us. "It's a son protecting his dad."
  14. [Hidden Content]# from the article it looks like it may have been self-defense

  16. I see this game going similar to sealy if there are a lot of kids out. Closer than it probably should be, but decided before the final whistle blows. Now, if Silsbee doesn’t get some of the studs back before Bellville/Madisonville, it may be a different story
  17. I don't have any insight into Coldspring's circumstances, other than they played with my head on the pickems just about every week.
  18. Another weird end to a weird season. The only team I could compare them to this year is Coldspring. They played tough teams all year, and competed pretty well, narrowly losing several games to very good competition, only to get boatraced in their last game of the season in a game where a lot of folks expected them to keep it close, if not win. Oddly enough, just like WOS, this season was basically a carbon copy of last year's for Coldspring.
  19. So to sum it up, this kid robbed and beat a kid, kicking him repeatedly on the ground while he was in the fetal position, but his family thinks he was just "picking" and "meddling".
