Can't imagine why he acts the way he does. Oh, wait, yes I can. From the article: "Investigators say the assault started when Savoy tried to steal items, including a cell phone, from another student. Video obtained by officials shows the victim in a fetal position on the floor while Savoy punched and kicked him multiple times, according to the affidavit." Also from the article, quoting his grandmother: "They viewed the video saying that it wasn't a robbery because the phone was on the ground the whole time," said Johnson. "He just reacted and he told the guy to go to the next stall. But you know how kids are they meddle, they pick in school..."

Would be hilarious, but I don't see Bellville taking Madisonville lightly again, if that's what happened last year. I've heard people reference the rain from last season, but if I was a coach who ran the slot-t I would pray for rain every friday. Who knows, though. Madisonville is a solid team, and despite others downplaying strength of schedule, we don't really know what Bellville will do against a team that's won more than 5 games (although I expect them to win this one by a couple of TDs). And Jasper's odds of going to dallas are beyond slim (just like my horns' are).
-
You got your answer. Still waiting on what you're basing your statement of "Bellville likely winning the region" on. I'm not knocking them, and I know they're a good team. They do have a chance. I'm just curious what makes you think they have the best chance, confidently stating they'll likely do something they haven't done in over a decade, with two of the top 4 teams in the state standing in their way.

I have it from a very good source that HJ and Liberty have opted up.

I've moved over to the Bellville/Madisonville thread to quit polluting this one. Only gonna talk about the future and present in that one
-
I'll come over here to quit polluting the other thread. And this is a bold statement, and I'd love to know what you're basing this on. Going through Silsbee and Cuero is a pretty tall task. Since the past doesn't matter, and strength of district doesn't matter, I can only guess it was their impressive win over 5-5 WOS? When's the last time they won the region? Honest question.
-
I'm expecting a comfortable win for Bellville. That said, it's a win/win for me regardless of the result.
-
Cuero is just one of those special places that seems to always field a great team, and constantly reload. I'm excited for HF to step up to the challenge of facing y'all, just wish it was a little further along in the playoffs.
-
lol. they beat a 5-5 team that was 4th place in another district. I expected a lot closer game, but they still haven't beaten a team with a winning record all year, and bi-district results have made it very clear which district is better. I do look forward to seeing them play silsbee, assuming they don't blow it against madisonville again this year.
-
Like I said, once Bellville beats silsbee THIS YEAR, I'll be proven completely wrong.
-
okay. again, once Bellville beats Silsbee I'll be proven completely wrong. Just like they would've totally proven me wrong last year, except they lost to Madisonville, who then gave up 60 to silsbee the week after Bellville exploded on them for 3.

Dak has played as well as he ever has over the last month. Hoping he can keep rolling.

It didn’t feel like nonsense last year when they played a fairly easy schedule and met a decent team in the second round and put up 3 points. This year the schedule has been much worse (can’t control who you play in district, I get it), although I expect them to avoid the upset this time, and we’ll find out what happens when they finally play a good team. Still, 11 games into the season Bellville has played exactly zero teams that finished the season with a winning record. No denying they looked really good against a WOS team that was competitive with quality teams all year, but it sure felt like WOS also finally quit on their coach as well. They beat Silsbee in the 3rd round and I’ll agree with you that my comments on the schedule were all nonsense.
-
Tough draw in the second round. Cuero hasn’t played a super strong schedule, so it’s kind of hard to judge some of their results, but without a doubt they’re very, very good. HF lost Pirtle a couple of weeks ago, which is a huge blow on both sides of the ball. I’ll have to pick Cuero in this one, but I think HF has a better shot than last year.

Bellville (49) @ West Orange-Stark (7) - FINAL

Not anymore. Our 2 beat the stuffing out of your 3, and our 3 handily beat your 2. Top 4 are light years better as a whole, even if WOS didn’t show up tonight. A 4th place finish (could’ve/should’ve been 2nd) in this district is an easy 2nd beating out sealy, NF, and Columbia -

Apparently I misclicked this one on my pickems. Because I definitely didn’t expect an upset here, but for some reason I have Nederland picked when I look back at it 🙄 -

I am. You have Bellville at 10-0 and nobody else with a winning record. West orange stark has played one of the toughest schedule in 4A, and until tonight, every game they’ve played has been close. They have two overtime losses and two 1-score losses against 4 teams who would finish in the top 2 in Bellville’s district. Those 4 teams have a combined record of 34-6. Nobody besides Bellville is better than 5-5. -

Against all the good teams they’ve played this year their athleticism has kept them in it, but you have to have some clue what’s going on to play against the slot-t -

They are tonight. I’m pretty shocked, to be honest. But WOS would finish second in that district with one loss -

Same team, but not the same team. They’ve rolled over. Unless you think bellville is 35 points better than all those teams. -

I’m not discounting them at all, but your 100 point stat can be discounted because of the district they’re in. That’s the only point I was making. Obviously they’re a good team. -

They’re playing the ghost of WOS, not Silsbee (or HF or Jasper, for that matter) -

When I’m wrong, I’m wrong. Thought this would be a good game. As tough as their season has been, WOS has played close games against teams as good or better than Bellville all year. Surprised to see them roll over like this, even if they weren’t favored to win. -

You realize that bellville doesn’t have a single team on their schedule that finished the season with a winning record? Bellville is solid, don’t get me wrong, but they’re in at least 3 dogfights in Silsbee’s district. -

HF picks their second play. Then scores again on the first play, but called partway back for a hold. Driving now
