Easy guys... it was a joke (with a little bit of truth in it). I think it's a safe bet that Ozen gets more than 33.3% of the elite basketball players coming through Beaumont. I'm sure that this is not coincidence, and I'm sure that these great basketball players don't choose Ozen for academic purposes. Most of these great players chose to go to Ozen because it's the best basketball program. Of course not every great player is going to go to Ozen. WB and Central put quality teams out every year, but Ozen remains the cream of the crop. I was just stirring the pot a little. Don't think I'm griping because I feel that WB and Central are getting the short end of the stick. I'm an HJ boy who just happens to work in BISD, and my students will end up going to all three high schools when they're old enough. I don't root for a particular Beaumont team, but cheer for them all equally. As for HJ being a basketball academy, they do teach them pretty well over there, don't they?

Crockett is beyond the point in the season where 35% shooting is going to lead to blowout wins. If they shoot 35% against silsbee, the better take A LOT of shots if they hope to win.

Please... It is an acedemic MAGNET not a sports MAGNET... I would have that problem if it was Ozen Basketball Magnet, but it is not... There is no advantage... That's why all magnets are not successful in sports!!!! But most are successful in acedemics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Essentially it is. Students who want to go to the medical profession go to Central. Students who want to play basketball go to Ozen Basketball Academy.

I hope Silsbee's easy path so far hasn't hurt them... if they come out and play well, I say Silsbee by 10. If they come out slow, it could be anyone's game. Good luck Tigers!

This is a nice win for nederland, but also a nice point for LCM. Congrats to both teams on a game well-played.

I've heard that this will be a lower level of hockey, and that many of this year's players will leave... anyone have any clue about that?

I'm going to go ahead and lock this... this thread's getting a little out of hand, and the last several comments have been argumentative and had little or no relevance to the all district team itself.

HJ by 15. Navasota was better than WC. If HJ comes out and plays like they can, they should win by a comfortable margin.

Someone else better step up for Ozen. DeCarlos Frank can't be expected to score half of Ozen's points again if they're going to win against such a talented Yates team this weekend.

I can't speak for the other assistant, but for Coach Davis, not only does he have head coaching experience, but he was very successful when he did it. Circumstances beyond his control brought him back to HJ as an assistant, but he's more than capable of drawing up last second play. I'm really hoping that when Sutherland decides it's time to move on that we'll see Coach Davis step up and take his place.

Arp should win, but EC has beaten some good teams this year, and I'm hoping they can do it again.

From what i hear the catters are staying, but are going to be in a different league... i'm not entirely sure though.

Whether he was moving people around or not, I'm proud of my hawks for giving a very good vidor team a run for their money!
