i doubt they'll lose a conference game, but when they get to the big dance and start playing schools that have had a conference schedule full of great teams, they might get surprised by someone.

png nederland lumberton ozen christmas came early for 20-4A this year. first, an extra playoff spot is added, and then the team who would've surely been the favorite to win district gets moved out and replaced by a team that can be called competitive, but certainly not dominant like dayton. i think png is a lock. nederland gets their qb back, and has some pretty good players coming back, so i think they'll get back in this year. i think lumberton is going to be a little closer to the middle of the pack this season, and will sneak in with the 3rd or 4th spot. as for ozen, it's between them and central, and i think ozen showed some good promise last year.

you're right about BC fans being a little too optimistic. i think the only thing more optimistic on this thread is you saying that HF will be "battling" WOS for the crown. HF may be much improved (note that i picked them to make the playoffs), but i don't see WOS allowing any district opponent to finish a game closer than 21 points back next season.

BC HF OF Silsbee HJ WOS WOS should have a cakewalk with kirbyville and jasper out of the picture. Silsbee ought to make it pretty easily as well. that leaves a dogfight for 3rd place. i'm gonna lean towards HF right now, but we'll see what happens when district starts.

another easy win for lumberton, but i'm impressed with ozen's improvement this year. in years past this would've been an easy 10-0 game. couple this result with ozen's 2-0 win vs. silsbee, and their 1-0 loss to png, and it's pretty safe to say that they've made huge strides.

that was a resounding nederland win. the question is how much their missing players hurt central. after nederland's recent struggles, this big win against central makes me question the jags playoff chances.

this is a great win for the pirates... when you get outshot that badly and sneak out a win, you have to feel good about it, especially win the game has serious playoff implications. nice job boys.

i hear with the new zoning rules that he's going to west brook. i also talked to a pretty close family member and she said that he was leaning towards going there anyway...

i haven't been over-impressed this year, but who knows. he might figure it out later on down the road. i've been impressed with love from UCLA. he's a beast down low, and a hell of a passer as well.

i'm predominately a 3A guy because i'm an HJ alum, but i do try to follow all of the local districts.

if i have a good, competitive team, i want to play the best teams i can play in pre-district. those games will prepare the team for the tougher opponents they may face come playoff time. if i have a weak team, i might choose an easier schedule. this way they have a shot at getting a couple of wins early, and who knows, they might build up some confidence and upset some teams later.

i wish some of these incredible freshmen would stick around a little longer... teams like k-state will benefit for only a year, and then go back to being mediocre.

bullet i really do not feel like a volley but are you a horn? if your are your team was smoked last night and I was there and luved it. ;D i am a horn fan, but i don't have any problem admitting that we got it handed to us... i thought your made that comment in reference to my earlier, optimistic post that i felt the horns are good enough to compete with the ags the next time they play. you won't get any argument from me about who the better team was last night.
