Silsbee has the best individual talent of anyone. When they get it to mesh together, it will be scary!

Santa, you havent seen enough of the rest of the area teams to make that statement
Nash, he doesn't need to see the other teams - he's omniscient - but I guess you didn't know. ;D

This is an outdated rule that has no place in todays hs basketball.  It was put in place to keep one team that had players who could dunk from "intimidating" another team that had no players who could dunk.
Stupid rule.  Teams can dunk during the game but cannot dunk in warmups?  Typical of the UIL - get real. ::)

    We lost because:
    1. It was too cold in the gym
    2. The game started too late
    3. The gym lights were too dim
    4. There wasn't enough water on sideline for players.
Did replacing Sanchez for Tebow for one possession have anything to do with it?    ;D

Very good point, No look.  I wouldnt be surprised if this was, somehow, the fault of Bush.

I don't have any liberal friends but I do have one liberal male relative.  He texted me that it was, indeed, Bush's fault.  Good call, Nash. ;D

And for the person that made the Rob Parker comment. If you're not African-Amercan and your daughter walked in with a kid with dreadlocks and said she wanted to marry him and didn't play qb for Baylor then or the Skins now how would you feel? Probably like the girl's Dad I used to date at South Dakota State that referred to me as everything but my name. One game I had 16 carries for 145 and 2 tds on our rivals North Dakota State and afterwards someone asked Mr. K, "hey, doesn't your daughter date that guy that plays rb at state". I guess after that he was cool with it because he sent me VHS tapes of the new combine he bought and how it operated for some reason. Rob Parker wasn't that far off with his comments, that's why ESPN didn't initially suspend him. Those comments especially fit down here in the SETX, I'm 29 and most everything I've been taught or absorbed over the years was from older gentlemen (black and white) that passed down the ways they think.
Nice way to get your faded athletic exploits on the board Courgar.  So how does it relate?  Parker went off and deserves to be suspended and then fired.  Where does it say anywhere that so-called TV Sports Journalists can make derogotory comments about professional players?  What gives him that right?  And especially to throw the race thing in there.  I'll be 75 next month and I was born and raised in Texas.  That more than likely makes me a racist - not that all Texans are.  I've consciously tried in
recent years to adjust my attitude and I have made
some progress.  I know that things are different in the
world and in Texas now than they were when I was
growing up.  One must adjust to the times.  But I
personally get set back by the stupid activity of the " Parkers" and analyses like yours.  I won't be around as
long as you will, but I will still try to improve my attitude
for as long as I'm here. 8)
Sorry if you think I was saying anything that happened to me to because you think I need some glory from my past or for that matter live vicariously through my sons, absolutely nothing of the sort. As usual I was giving a pertinent example that was taken out of context. Funny you think Rob Parker is out of line now but at 75 your still TRYING to change. I have no idea who you are but I can tell you were raised in a house where blacks weren't referred to as black and you just recently started trying to refer to us as black. Your calling me stupid for my analysis but yet can't spell the word. I bet given the opportunity you would "accidently" put a .243 center mass on Obama 'cause you think he wants to take away guns but yet still feel bad when someone can walk into a movie theatre or elementary school and commit mass murder. Have you adjusted to that? Of course not, that's why whenever you're around your buddies it still sounds like 1960.  Like your moniker says, you "usedtobe" a racist so don't get on your high horse now to try to make a point you didn't give a d*** about for the first 74 years of your life. As far as I'm concerned you can point your moral compass in a different direction 'cause there's a roadblock over here.

*I'm glad your still here though, that way I can show my sons how it "usedtobe". Hopefully you're not here much longer so you and your conglomerate don't have to TRY to adjust anymore.
Well Cougar, you reacted but you didn't make a whole lot of sense in my opinion.  I didn't say anything in my post about "vicariously through your sons."  I didn't know you had sons.  Also, I was raised in a house that called Blacks "Negroes" with a capital N.  That was the prevalent and accepted identification at that period in history.  The people of color had not yet become "Blacks" nor had they evolved to "African Americans."  So what is your point there?  Check the dictionary: analyses is the plural of analysis.  It was the tense that I intended to use because had I used analysis it would have restricted my reply to your response.  I intended to have my response cover all responses like yours, hence the plural analyses.  On the gun thingy - I don't own a gun now nor have I owned a gun in my adult life.  The only gun that I ever owned was a 22 single shot that was a Christmas present when I was 14.  I don't remember what became of that gun but I know I don't have it now.  I don't know why I need to contact either school that your second thought pointed out.  Must have something to do with Parker but your point wasn't clear.  Elaborate if you need to and then, if there is any merit to it, I might contact the schools you mention.  With my age thing I was trying to confess some of my shortcomings.  Since you apparently have none, you did not recognize my response for what it was.  Cougar, we can keep this going - but you are ill equipped in this battle.

Usedtobe- Maybe you should go to this game with me.  There is bound to be a Federal program that would pay our admission and snack costs.  And probably huge potential for a discrimination lawsuit.

I'm starting to feel the excitement I had during football season. Let's go Panthers!

BMTSoulja1, can you use your connections and get the Obama costume for Stevenash? I'd love to see him at the game.
Hmmm- I am getting the feeling that you are concerned I might be pretty conspicuous without a costume?
I think you would get by better with The Obama costume than the real you  ;)
Nash, I know you are perfectly capable of answering but let me have this one.  For me, and perhaps for Nash although I don't have his proxy to speak for him, there is nothing that I do nor that I ever intend to do, that could
possibly be improved with the wearing of an obama costume. ::)

Newton lost to a team that finally made them play 4 qtrs. Newton was unwilling to make any adjustments on Def. and looked like an un-prepared team on off. Newton should have won by 21 points. I feel like Newton missed a great opportunity to win state. I wish Coach Barbay was still alive !
I agree partially. They were ok on Offense, until they went for it on 4th down that was too far to make, the fumble in which cost them the lead before the Half. On defense they were doing fine until the Half. i dont know what went on in the locker room but it didnt seem like they were that excited to play in the 2nd half. no adjustments were made for the Secondary. Add in Yoe was a great team and made the necessary adjustments at Halftime & boom: They won.

BTW, that Nose Guard for YOE was having absolutely none of that Newton running up the middle stuff, that kid was a beast!
I did not see the game.  But, in trying to get a feel for what was happening, it certainly seems to have been a game of two completely different halves.  Newton seems to pretty much have had its way in the first half.  And somehow the whole momentum changed in the second half.  Yoe made adjustments and Newton did not?  I don't know - but if you ever underestimate Yoe, you have made a big mistake.  Perhaps that was the team mindset for Newton at half time - big lead, we have them where we want them, etc, etc.  Again, I don't know.  It's over now and I'm disappointed for Newton.  I believe that they were the best team.  Sometimes stuff happens.

    DeSoto was #1
DeSoto's coaching staff needs to grow up and then go get jobs in another line of work.  Maybe guards in the Texas prison system or something similar.  It's not that they can't coach but do you really want your son acting like that group of coaches acted?

No one likes to lose. Newton would have probably beaten any 2-4A team in East Texas. I think Newton could have beaten Nederland
That's quite the stretch.

I hope Mitchell waits to see if he can get a better offer...
This is bothersome.  You're Nederland and the Lamar University community might think that because of the proximity, that you would be supportive of the University and its programs.  Apparently not.  So, because of sporatic area support it's taking longer than at some other schools to crank the football program up.  If as many area people would be supportive of Lamar as there are that just want to degrade the school what a school our entire area could / would be proud of. 8)

there will be Yoemen lined up from Cameron to The Woodlands...and no telling how many former Yoe coming to the game from Houston...5,300 people in Cameron, 5,000 + expected at the game from there alone.  GO YOE!!!!!
Wow - that much population in Cameron?  How come you're 2-A?  Is there a shortage of cojones over there?
