I think we’ve got our guys. They have not been approved by the school board yet. (PN-G principal Marc) Mr. Keith is still working on references and things like that, but I’m hoping to be done on all of that by this week, " per the PA News. Faircloth is definitely building a program at PNG! PNG................Honor...............Pride.............Tradition!
  2. I don't feel that Coach Burnett was betrayed by the PNG faithful. As was stated, it was time for a change. Burnetts roots go deep at PNG and he will always be a PNG faithful. I don't see him doing anything to try and bring PNG down.
  3. Thats right. That brings the total to six new coaches. Ain't it great how that works, and to think there were some on here saying the job was not attractive because the new coach would not be able to bring any of his own with him. I definitely like what is happening. ;D ;D ;D
  4. I totally agree with you!
  5. THis is great to finally have a booster club ! I will have 4 kids remaining in the PNGISD system after this year. My youngest son will be a freshman next year and he is so pumped about the new system for football. The coaches from the high school have been going to GMS on almost a daily basis and working with these young men and introducing them to the new system. Everyday he comes home and tells me what they did and you can feel the excitment and how pumped up he is ! I also have 2 step daughters who will be up in high school in the next 2-5 years and they are big time softballers !!! Dang good too !!! I'm very happy to finally have a booster club, now we can get some of the things that these student athletes need !!! Man, this is great! Thanks for sharing.....I love the enthusiam in and around The Reservation!
  6. I think PNG will end up higher, not sure where. I DO think this is the year that Vidor will make the playoffs. Could be wrong, cuz it is Southeast Texas football, but I just have this gut feeling about it.
  7. Not sure how soon it will be before the Indians are back in the playoff picture...that remains to be seen. I do think, that Coach Faircloth is a very intelligent, "football" minded coach, and definitely has the Indians headed in the right direction. Its good to feel the exitement and anticipation around The Reservation again!
  8. I hope the bond passes. Those supporting the bond need to get out and rally the good folks of Nederland for support and to get out and vote. Best of luck to you. Again, I stand by my assessment: this is a win-win situation for all involved, but especially for the kids. Good luck from this Indian!
  9. Faircloth definitely has his stuff together, and with the support of the new coaches he has on staff, as well as keeping some of the old, this guy is the REAL deal. Man, I'm excited! And, can't wait for week 0. I think a lot of folks around the area are going to be surprised with the PNG Indians this year! Q: Talk some about your offense and what type of run-pass balance do you intend to have? A: Fifty-fifty. We want to throw it 30 times and run it 30 times. I will be calling the plays probably for the whole season. We will be doing exactly the same things on offense that we’ve done at Odessa Permian. That’s what we’ve taught our new coaches. We always take input. We’ve hired guys from really great programs. They already have brought in some good new ideas and I definitely don’t mind changing if it makes us better. I’m not stuck in my ways. I expect them to bring in good ideas. That’s why I hired them. I got to be exposed to the commitment and work ethic of Matthew Stafford, before the three straight quarterbacks at Permian. So I’ve been around four straight pretty good quarterbacks since 2005. They have each raised the bar and that is the bar we will hold all the PN-G quarterbacks accountable for. I have no reason to believe they won’t be as successful as everyone else in the past. HONOR>>>>>>>>>>>PRIDE>>>>>>>>>>>>TRADITION !!!!
  10. I sincerely hope the good folks in Nederland vote and pass the bond. Those in favor need to get out there, campaign, encourage the people to get out and vote, and push this thing through. Approving the bond is a "win-win" situation for all involved, but especially for the students! Best of luck !
  11. PNG - Best Worst- ?
  12. I totally agree with you. I can't believe there is so much negativity about the bond. >
  13. For the life of me, the bond proposal is an investment in the future for the kids! Property taxes will increase, but the return on the investment in the the kids is worth it! I voted for and was very glad when the PNG bond was approved. And I know the good folks at Nederland will feel the same way. You're gonna have the "naysayers" and those that want to pick the bond to pieces, but thats just one of those things that will happen. Good luck, Nederland, on your bond proposal. You have a GREAT district with the administrators, teachers, students, parents, and community support!
  14. Will there be 2 "Fire It Up" pep rally's??? I'm sure there will be. From what I hear, the one in May is for Spring football and I believe, to give a good welcome to the new Coaches and thier families. And I'm sure, we will have the regular fire it up pep rally at the beginning of football season.
  15. Very well said!!!!
  16. Smitty, you have some valid points and I commend you for posting them. Its good to be able to see opposing sides of an issue.
  17. Good post.
  18. I do NOT believe that Nederland is trying to keep up with PNG. Nederland is looking out for the best interest of the kids. And to refute your argument, advances in technology involving the education process does have an impact on state testing and measurement. I've stated my stance on this issue, and again, I feel Nederland is doing the right thing in trying to get this bond proposal passed.
  19. I agree, teacher quality is of the utmost importance, however, providing the best environment for a student to learn, in my opinion, is a major purpose of this bond. I agree, many students have learned in portable buildings, but have you ever took time to listen to the teacher trying to create a science lab in a portable building? No matter what you say, I feel the older buildings that aren't up to par handicaps an educator in a classroom. Now, with the internet so widely used, the involvement of "smart boards", laptops, many programs designed and used by computer technology, the days of old have gone by the wayside. The technology evolution is here and we have to keep our kids abreast to the opportunities afforded to them by this design. I have a hard time that you feel that "doing it for the kids" is a cover. It SHOULD be done for the kids....FIRST and FOREMOST. The kids are our future and anything that a district can do to engage the cognitive process for the better is worth doing. Again, I applaud the good folks in Nederland for the proposal. Best of luck to you!
  20. As an educator, myself, it DOES matter about the school buildings. In order for kids to stay at the forefront, newer buildings are needed that can contain the technology requirements, science labs, theater arts, athletics, etc. It would cost more to try to upgrade present 60 year old building with the wiring along for computer labs, etc, in the long run. I applaud Nederland for going forth with this bond proposal, and again, I stand by my statement to "do it for the kids". I agree, most folks will focus on the press box and field turf instead of the opportunities to see the educational process afforded by new buildings to help the students of Nederland excel.
  21. Prayers from The Reservation for the family at this time of loss.
  22. Best of luck to Nederland on the bond issue. I sincerely believe, that the good folks in Nederland WILL DO IT FOR THE KIDS! ;D
