In 2009 What Game Are You Looking Forward To
NDNWarrior replied to skipper's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
TOTALLY AGREE! Man, now this will be a GAME this year! Can't Wait! Coach Faircloth means business and the NDN's are on the Warpath!!!! PNG..............Honor...............Pride.................Tradition................."Priceless!" -
Sounds like Coach isn't going to put up with any "super-star" egos or "I'm too good to have to run laps" BS. From what I've heard and read so far he is definitely TEAM focused which I think may be the shot in the arm that PNG needs to succeed. I TOTALLY agree with you, Yankee Dawg! Everyone is "equal" on the team, no one treated better than another...just what PNG needs.....I have a feelin the NDN's will do very well this year! ;D I sure hope so Warrior. He seems to know how to get things done and I'm sure he is going to be a great motivator for your kids, school and fans as well. Should be the BEST MCM we've seen in a while!! This is true.....and, it will be played at the "new" Reservation! Awesome facility!!!! Have you seen it yet? I can't believe we have such a nice field in Southeast Texas! Its GREAT!

With Coach Faircloth's past record with QB's I would say we will have the right kid playing next year. I agree. I think with Coach Faircloth, these kids trying out for any position will kick it up a few notches to be the best they can be! Whoever the QB will be, he will definitely be the right one and ready to step up to the challenge. PNG.........Honor........Pride...........Tradition

Wow....sometimes you have to wonder what goes through some of these kids minds, especially when it seems they have EVERYTHING going for them! What a shame! -

Notes from 2/16 PNG school board meeting
NDNWarrior replied to PNG1992's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
It is change that will be good for the kids and school district in the long run. Change is not easy but is necessary to stay competitive in any business. I agree, pngfan1. Sometimes, the evolution of "change" brings about positive and negatives to the current situation, but in the end, everyone benefits. I applaud Coach Faircloth for coming in, setting an agenda, is proactive and ernestly seeking whats best for the kids, parents, fans, and community. Kudos to him for his energy and enthusiasm! ;D -

I believe you are right about this. The vacancies are "required" to be posted for a certain period of time. -

PNG Athletics Get New Technology Funding
NDNWarrior replied to NDNWarrior's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
He's DEFINITELY got things in order and looking to re-vamp the entire football program at PNG! GREAT things are happening at The Reservation! -
MikeTobias The Port Arthur News GROVES — It hasn’t even been two weeks since new Port Neches-Groves Indians Head Coach and Athletic Director Brandon Faircloth stepped into the mix. Monday night, the newly appointed “chief of the tribe†strolled into the PN-GISD board room, donning the Indians’ colors, to ask trustees for the funding approval of technology equipment and athletic personnel appointments. “In order to meet the needs of the athletic department, new technology equipment and software is needed,†Superintendent Lani Randall said, prior to the vote. The new technology requested comes in the form of: video editing software ($12,700), 1 Server for the field house ($8,000), and 2 laptop computers ($2,400). $23,100. Several members of the board, including President Rusty Brittain questioned Faircloth as to the nature of the equipment and whether it would supplement existing software already in place. “We’re trying to create a program that’s going to give our kids the best chance to be successful,†Faircloth said. “We’re not concerned with how anyone else is doing things — we’re concerned with how we’re doing things and what we feel is right.†Faircloth told the trustees current software and hardware in place for video editing only allows one coach to work on one desktop computer at a time. With the additional equipment, coaches would be able to work on the software off of a network server, specific to the athletic department, with the mobile versatility that laptop computers provide. “It helps with a lot of the coaches being able to work on laptops, to work on video editing,†Faircloth explained. “It helps when you separate into position meetings to be able to take a laptop into there and be very position specific on does and don’ts. We’ll be able to let the kids watch themselves and have it cut up that way so our kids not only can be active learners, but visual learners as well.†Faircloth also requested funds for several athletics position. The request positions were for two new coordinator positions for the remainder of the 08-09 school year, two new varsity assistant coach/teaching positions for the 08-09 school year, and an athletics secretary that would serve the needs of both boys and girls athletics. “Additionally, it is recommended that two new middle school assistant coach positions would be added for the 2009-2010 school year.†The board voted unanimously in favor of both proposals. Posting for the new positions will begin immediately.

GREAT video! Sounds like Coach Faircloth is planning to stay at PNG for a "very long time". I like the fact that he gave kudos to the PNG kids, calling them "intense, intelligent" and how he likes our facilities and the changes he's planning on making at PNG. I think, again, the school board did a GREAT job in hiring Coach Faircloth....he's the "perfect" fit to be the new Head Chief at The Reservation! PNG...........Honor.............Pride....................Tradition..............."Priceless!" -
I think his reputation precedes him as an OC, the BEST in his region. And, he has some very well known, successful coaches at his fingertips if he needs advice, consultation, etc. I think it is GREAT that he is already at The Reservation, implementing plans, setting goals, motivating, and getting to know the kids, staff, and PNG community. Its been a long while since I've seen PNG this excited about a HC and I know he will have all the support and then some from the district and community. Coach Faircloth will set the precedent and will have the support he needs to find his groove and lead PNG back to the powerhouse it once was. I commend our school board for standing their ground on the HC/AD requirements and giving Brandon Faircloth this chance. Honor....Pride....Tradition....thats what PNG is all about!

From PNG forum, a poster made the following comments: My son was fired up from the first speech by Coach Faircloth. He has already changed the attitudes of the boys. He told them his offense is very confusing for the other team but it is proven and works. He told the only sport he likes is football then next is spring football. I've heard this from several parents and players alike. Faircloth is going to be good for PNG. I look for it to be an exciting year at The Reservation!
