What purpose would this serve? Please answer me. It makes no sense.....is it so posters can get on here and trash candidates and PNG as well? It doesn't serve ANY PURPOSE to release the names. And again, the folks from other schools are more "up in arms" about this list than PNG folks. Are you afraid one of YOUR coaches may have applied? Do you have a dog in the fight? What gives......PNG fans are laughing at you guys for getting so upset about this. We're the ONLY ones that should want the list revealed and we're not balking the decision of the board. Go figure, getting the Attorney General involved, bringing up the FOI clause. You guys have waaaaaaayyyyy too much time on your hand to be worrying about this. This is ridiculous....I hope PNG NEVER releases the list, but only announce the coach they hired.......that way, the guy will have a fighting chance........this is ridiculous.

Good analogy....."young", "energetic", "enthusiastic", sounds like good adjectives a new coach should have when being referred too.
-
Thanks, Brubaker....I wish everyone felt the same way. Even WHEN the new coach's name is released, the very same people on here "bellyaching" about wanting the names to be released, will be on here slammin this guy before he even gets the chance to prove what he can do. The "madness" never ends...... PNG>>>>>>>>>Honor......Pride......Tradition.....

I think Burnett could have won with some changes in the coaching staff. There is a LOT of great talent coming up for PNG. However, the fans of PNG like to win...they are used to winning, and I feel the pressure was on to replace Burnett. I started hearing the grumblings three years ago and this year, the grumblings among fans were begining to become all out "yells." Burnett is a good man with a good heart and good intentions. However, Einstein's definition of insanity came into play here...."doing the same thing over and over again and expecting change." PNG>>>>>>>>HONOR......PRIDE......TRADITION......

I totally agree! The article is a piece of junk! What amazes me is that it seems that EVERYONE except PNG fans want the list released. I wonder why...could it be fear of what a new coach will do with the HONOR, PRIDE, and TRADITION at PNG? Or is it that they just want something else to quabble about on the board.....it just amazes me. I APPLAUD PNG for keeping the list concealed....its driving the "crazies" even "crazier!" HONOR....PRIDE.....TRADITION.............."PRICELESS!"

Totally agree with you, pngfan1. If ANYONE should be anxious about seeing the list, it should be the fans of PNG! Seems to me, those that are not associated with PNG are more anxious than the PNG fans are about releasing the names. I just feel that name calling, negative adjectives and references should be left out of the discussion in referencing PNG school district and the PNG fans. PNG>>>>>Honor....Pride....Tradition

The more I think about it, whether a FOI is filed or not, revealing the list is not going to serve any purpose, other than to give folks on discussion boards to voice "yays" and "nays" about the applicants. The end result, the decision, is up to the school board and the expertise they have in place. And the debate continues............ :

As an "insider", I agree with you, Quacker37, it doesn't matter. The decision is going to ultimately be up to the shool board. I think some folks, who evidently has it in for PNG for some reason or other, just want something else to squabble about. No matter who the final 4 is, or who is picked, he's going to be "praised" by some and "condemned" by others...thats just the way it is. Would I like to see the list of names, yes. But, its not my decision to produce it. I just take offense to the "cheap" shots against the school I support and the district I chose to send my children too.

Question Regarding LCM & PNG Coaching Search
NDNWarrior replied to stevieray's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
No, As long as the coach is a proven winner that can rally the kids and the community, uphold the traditions of PN-G, and teach the kids to become better young men, then I could care less where he is from. I agree 100% with akifan94. I think its important that a coach not only teach these young men to win games, but also, to help equip them with life skills to win in the "game of life". -
Back to the issue at hand. I think keeping the list of applicants secret is a good idea. If the list were revealed, as was stated, it could endanger a coaches position at his present school. I think the PNG school board is doing the right thing and we, the fans and spectators, will have to wait for the end result. No matter who the new head coach is, there are going to be pros and cons about the guy. PNG.....Honor, Pride, Tradition....!

Agree.

I would think the the quality of education, i.e. TAKS results, academic standing, etc. would be the driving force in deciding if I want to send my child to a particular school, not the attitude of fans or the record of a particular sports team.

Some of these posts are just plain ridiculous! But, I guess we ALL have our VARIED opinions, thats why we have a forum, right? What it all boils down to, is, we as fans, have to accept what is given to us, whether good or bad. One thing for sure, is that EACH of us are here to support those young men that go out every Friday night, dress out with helmets and pads, and play their hearts out for our enjoyment. Man, I can't wait for high school football to get here again!

The school board has control of this situation. They set the standard and the rest of us will have to live with their decision. We, the people, voted and put these folks in their positions, and with that vote, we placed our trust and confidence in them. They will decide and with their decision, we will have to accept. All the complaining, belly-aching, insults, whatever makes no difference: the buck stops with the board.

What team Was The Biggest Dissapointment This Year?
NDNWarrior replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
PNG.....had a good pre-season and thought we were going to make a run, but didn't. There's always next year! ;D Still bleed purple and back my Indians...win or lose! ;D -
I agree, Skipper.

Central and their ability amazed me last year, especially in the playoffs. With this new QB, hear he can run and you can bet he will have the training putting the spin on the ball and connecting with his receivers. I NEVER underestimate Central....I honestly feel they will be first in district. This years team set the precident for next year....Central had a taste of victory and I only see a bright and better future for the Jags.
