  1. I applied with FEMA, got an ID number. Also made application for hotel assistance, but no answer. After going thru the FEMA app online, I got a message that said I didn't qualify for assistance and I'm a homeowner. They were very particular about all the gross income in your house, insurance info, etc. I know they have to be careful this time, because so many people abused the privaledge last time with Rita. I made application with the hotel thru FEMA, but no word yet. If we are out for 3 to 5 weeks, this is definitely going to make a dent in the budget. FEMA did say they would not allocate money until my property was inspected. I can't even get home to see what the damage is. Guess I'll just have to wait. If anyone hears when the county is allowing folks to go back in to inspect their property, please post so I can know. I'm praying for everyone in our area. I live in Groves, and have heard there is minimal damage there, but no confirmation as yet. Take Care!
  2. Praying for all you folks in Bridge City and Orange.
  3. Entergy Reports Catastrophic Damage: "Much Worse Than Rita" Comments 0 | Recommend 0 September 13, 2008 - 8:47AM Scott Lawrence Entergy Texas is reporting catastrophic damage to its system in Texas, with nearly all of its 395,000 customers in Texas without power and a spokesman telling customers not to come home because it could take weeks to restore power following a storm that he describes as "worse than Rita" because of its impact on the electric grid. Entergy Texas spokesman Mike Rogers tells KFDM News 96 percent of the company's 395,000 customers in Texas are without power. 15,000 customers still have power, primarily in Navasota. "Restoration is weeks away," said Rogers. "Do not come home. You will not have power for weeks." Rogers says the company has sustained significant damage to its transmission system, with 119 of 187 transmission lines out, and two power plants off line. The Sabine Power plant was taken off line Friday and a plant in Montgomery County tripped off line Friday night. "We'll begin assessments when the storm passes, but we can't do so until the wind dies down," said Rogers.
  4. Channel 6 just reported that 96% of Entergy power supply has been damaged, that this is worse than Rita. It will be weeks before people will be allowed to return home in Jefferson/Orange County.
  5. WOW! This indian is praying for you good folks over across the bridge! Please, be safe. From the last I heard, Pt. Neches/Groves is intact, with little or no damage. God Bless you!
  6. Thank you. My prayers are with everyone, especially Bridge City. Sound like Bridge City got the worst of it.
  7. Thanks, kicker. I'm in Leesville, La. and can barely get channel 12. Patrick Vaughn, the weatherman there, was saying this storm was no where near Rita, or what was expected. Very little power outages, wind, or rain. I'll wait til tomorrow and see if I can get info. From the way it looks, maybe we can resume life as normal on Monday.....can't wait for cold weather! Again, thanks!
  8. Ok. But its not as bad as was thought it would be, right? I've heard all kinds of reports, not sure about the validity. I live in Groves, and someone said that it was totally underwater. Just trying to weigh in my options. Thanks for the info.
  9. The local news is saying there is hardly any rain or wind in the Golden Triangle. They said this is very minimal. Will we be able to return home tomorrow? I live in Groves.
  10. Any news of flooding in Groves?
  11. Any news of Groves, flooding conditions?
  12. My daughter (Indianette) got a pic this morning from a friend of Pt Neches park and it showed the water already beginning to cover the parking lot. Does anyone else have pics or can give any info of whats going on in Pt. Neches/Groves?
  13. I always hate to predict the game between PNG and Nederaland, because no matter how each teams season is shaping up, this game is always unpredictable it seems. I will say, that after the comeback Saturday night with Crosby, I'm feeling very good about PNG. There's a good mix on the plays and Tatum is airing out the ball more with receptions. This week, against Texas City, will be a test. Whether PNG wins or loses, its going to be a good experience...one that will help us correct mistakes and continue on to perfection. I will say this....PNG players have a LOT of heart this year...more than I have seen over the past few years. Also, the fans had more excitement than I have seen in a loooong time and we filled Crosby's stadium. It's going to be an exciting year!
  14. 1. PNG 2. Central 3. Vidor 4. Lumberton
  15. Going to be an interesting game, that is, if we get to play. Will ALWAYS root for the Indians!
  16. I'm curious about that too, how much rain we will get. Accuweather just said the high pressure is not weakening, so that means Ike would most likely make landfall between Corpus and Brownsville.
  17. The Indian Fans were out in force tonight! GREAT Game! I think everyone will be hoarse in the morning! Way to go, PNG!!! Scalp 'em, NDN's!
  18. PNG 21 Crosby 10
  19. Totally agree......Broncos have represented this district well, as well as your fans have! Keep your heads up.........Go Broncos!
  20. With the way LT is playing, they'll probably take state. And, be back again next year ! :'(
