LOL ! I can see why you don't have many MidCounty friends ! Don't hate, appreciate! -
You crack me UP! Unless you live in Mid County, then you cannot begin to understand PNG and Nederland. Yeah, the one week out of the year, MCM, we are rivals...thats true. Its a long tradition of 84 years, one of the loooongest high school rivalries in Texas. However, after that game, Nederland and PNG fans bond together, to lend support for the other. I think because of this, thats why so many other teams in our district hate the MidCounty teams. Its not pressing on Ned's mind about the last week of play, they will come out with the win against Lumberton anyway. The reason L'Train isnt getting any love or respect from MidCounty is because of the way you bash us, added to the fact that you have to earn it....which I doubt, very seriously, will happen this year. As for the guys on your team, I wish them the best, and an injury free game tomorrow night. Go Indians! Go Bulldogs!

Will you EVER come out and defend some of your ridiculous analagies? Good Point! -
Bulldogs win this one, BIG! Go Dogs !

The Breakout Player of the Week (Player most likely to have a big night) Lumberton's (6-0, 3-0 in 22-4A) defense against Port Neches-Groves (4-2, 3-0) Admit it, when you look at a team's statistics, your eyes go directly to the offense. But if PNG overlooks the Lumberton defense, it will be a long night. Give a lot of credit to the defense for Lumberton's uprising this season. Until the last two weeks, Lumberton hadn't allowed more than seven points in a game. Even in those last two games, Lumberton has surrendered just two TDs each time. The Raiders' defense will need that kind of effort to pull out a win at one in one of the toughest road environments in the state, especially after PNG's best offensive night of the year, a 28-16 win against heated rival Nederland. Padilla Poll says: PNG by 5 Jerry's TXFB Ratings says: PNG by 4 TexasFootball.com says: PNG 10, Lumberton 7 Scalp 'em, NDN's!

hmmmm.....seems to me like the Lumberton fans are feeling some intimidation in response to this poll, otherwise, there wouldn't be these responses you are posting to the thread. Regardless if Hemmings is fast, slow, or whatever.....he will get the job done Friday night against Lumberton! I don't think your D line will be able to stop him.....he breaks tackle, after tackle....and once he gets free, he kicks it up a couple of notches and he owns the endzone. I do admire and respect Lumberton, don't get me wrong...but now, you are playing a seasoned team with a coaching staff that has been under this pressure before. I honestly feel the team with the least turnovers/mistakes will win.....the pressure at the Reservation for Lumberton will be a little to much. PNG will come away with the win. PNG 28 Lumberton 20

The excitement for MidCounty Madness was BIG, however, I think the excitement and intensity for this game almost rivals it. I could not talk Saturday morning after the MCM, I can just imagine what this Saturday morning will be like. Cruising off the excitement of last week, which has increased and pumped everybody for this week....wow! The INDIANS are on a warpath....get ready Lumberton....you're playin with the big boys now!

I think pregame prayer is definitely a GOOD thing, but it is ALSO a personal option.

Sorry to hear about his cancer. My prayers are with you and your family TH. I still stand by what I say as well. He ALWAYS finds a way to put down PNG...I don't understand his strong dislike of them. I don't think he's a good sportswriter when you take joy in putting down these high school players in print, so that everyone can read it and question their abilities. Its ok to give stats and such, however, when you start using discrediting adjectives in your stories about these athletes, its time to stop writing. I know a lot of PNG and Nederland fans come together after MCM and support the MidCounty teams....just seems like TH can and will NEVER say anything good about PNG, IMO. -
Thank you, Maverick....we appreciate you guys in Lumberton feeling this way. Looks like more than your "train" engine is puffing smoke...lol! Get ready, the "L -ittle Lumberton Tain" will DE-rail with the mighty Indian, DE-fense at the Reservation this Friday! I do think it will be a close game, but playing at the Reservation and the NDN defense will be the difference in the game. Just feel like it will be too much for the Raiders. I feel it will be a close game, hopefully injury free for both teams.

I know that PNG respects Lumberton, and we are definitely proud of your football program and the great gains you have made, this is honestly a true statement. Also, Lumberton would represent the district well. I know this is going to be a strong defensive battle Friday night and I feel the score will be very close. The momentum and the spirit of the Indians this year, the way they have come together as a single unit, reminds me of the PNG of the 70's, playoffs, State Champs, honor, pride, tradition. Everyone, basically, counted PNG out after our preseason losses, but now, all the doubters are singing a different tune. PNG has been in this spot many times, enduring the joys of winning and the heartbreak of losing. We can sit back and smash each other, or, realize that it will be settled on the field Friday night. In this district, anything can happen on any given Friday night on the field. We welcome you to The Reservation and I hope and pray for an injury free game! Good Luck to both teams!
