  1. With all that said, congrats to WOS on the win! ;D
  2. I believe the Indians will take this one. Faircloth will keep mixing things up on the offense, but I definitely think the defense is gonna have to step up this week. I've heard Tx City is a running team and has a lot of athletes. Glad we're playing at The Reservation!
  3. Haven't seen 'em, but congrats to the Pirates!
  4. I think each week we're going to have more surprises in Southeast Texas high school football. I am HOPING and PRAYING that we don't have a dang hurricane this year!
  5. PNG, in my mind, is right on track. I think we will continue to see improvement from week to week, with Faircloth throwing in some surprise plays each and every week. Not going to say PNG will make the playoffs......yet, but definitely see that Faircloth has motivated these boys and is fine tuning their skills to be a definite force in our district.
  6. Man, I ate it BAD last week with my picks! I know my percentage will be low! :'(
  7. I think PNG has definitely improved over last week, but I also think Crosby looked confused much of the nite on the field. Doty/DeRon combination, with timing and patterns were lethal. Much improved! RB's were really good last nite. Faircloth mixed up the plays very well and kept Crosby guessing. The only thing that bothered me about PNG were the numerous holding calls. As for Crosby, Merka is thier only weapon, it appears. Great kid and QB,but he can't do it all. Kinda felt sorry for him in the second half. You could tell he was worn out, but kept playing with a lot of heart. I see the INDIANS continuing to improve from week to week. As last year, we were undefeated in preseason, but as soon as district rolled around, we imploded. Don't see this happening this year, but district play is going to be tough this year. A lot of good teams out there. Glad we have a "bi" week the week before we start district. All in all, I was very impressed with PNG. ;D
  8. Agree...PNG will only get better!
  9. I'm glad PNG didn't run up the score. Kinda felt sorry for Merka. He's the only weapon Crosby has. He came out in the second half, really worn down. The kid has heart. PNG.....had too many holding calls, but other than that, it felt good watching how Faircloth mixed up the plays. Some beautiful passes from Doty to DeRon, and Ross did a great job !
  10. WAY TO GO, INDIANS!!!!
  11. No PNG has never played a top ten caliber team. Ever. In all these years and all the long playoff runs, PNG has never played a high caliber program that has won several state titles in short periods. Like LaMarque (7 time state champ whom we have played a half dozen times or more and never taken it on the chin like Crosby just did) or like Stephenville (5 time state champ whom PNG gave their best game to in the State title game) or like 4A WOS (2 time state champ whom came up just short in a furious comeback to loose to Ennis in one of those state titles that you mentioned and PNG has played some great games with over the years) or teams like Plano and Permian. Need I go on? I am going to guess you are a young man with very little knowledge of HS football history, thus you get a pass on the above statement. So loosing to anyone like you guys did against Ennis, there is absolutely no way you can put a positive spin on it! Good Luck this Friday and from all of us at the Reservation we wish you and all Cougar fans the safest of possible trips over and back! PNG 31-Crosby 21 Good Post!
  12. The Barbers Hill vs. PNG was a sloppy played game on both sides of the ball.
  13. I believe Newton will take this one. Go Eagles![/b]
  14. Kudos to you! You're doing a GREAT job with this, and its a lot of fun to play!
  15. Thats GREAT...glad to hear the community came out to lend support.
  16. The Reservation!!!
  17. My prayers and thoughts are with Kirby and his family at this time! God Bless!
  18. Ok, that one CRACKED me up! ;D ;D ;D
  19. Thanks for sharing! Good Post!
  20. Good post. Best of luck to the Bulldogs this year......! (Well, except for that one week....) Prayers with Kirby.
  21. PNG did not show any "cockiness" toward BH. What I saw, was two teams with pre=game jitters, but ready to play. The PNG fans and the BH fans were very cordial toward each other. And yes, several BH fans told me after the game that PNG's stadium is probably the best stadium in the area.
  22. Believe I'll have to go with the Wildcats on this one! Best of luck to both teams!
  23. Since it appears that my post about "top notch coach" has been picked apart, let me clarify it, not that I have to. Faircloth has not been a HEAD coach as yet, but a damn good coach, hands down. Remember that when Faircloth was hired at PNG, it was for the AD/HC position.....given the motivation, time, and excitement he has brought to PNG (Booster club, objectives, etc), he's doing a GREAT job! The game Friday night WAS a preseason game, one which will be reviewed, combed over, and adjustments made, just like all the other teams in the district will do. I have never said that Faircloth is a "magician" or even that I believe that PNG will make the playoffs this year...but, as a dedicated Indian fan, it feels GREAT to see the excitement in and around the community...a large part due to the dedication and motivation of our HEAD Coach, Brandon Faircloth. As we continue each week, I think the Indians will come together under his leadership and we will see bigger and better things as the season progresses. Good luck to ALL the 20-4A teams for and injury free season.
