1997 Black Rose Bowl with Deweyville @ East Chambers for the district title...Long drawn out drama from the year before so We(deweyville) made all these t-shirts with the black rose bowl printed on it...went into EC with high expectations but lost by 2 pts on a failed 2pt conversion with 40seconds left in the game..still hurts to this day!! Thanks for the memories COOP!!!!!

Best player I went against was Beckett from Spring HS in Houston...best player I played with would be Danny Zale from Houston area...both great pitchers are both doing well in the pros

Seen both teams play this year and even though Hardin has a great offensive combination but I think run beats the pass majority of the time....so I am taking a stab in the dark saying Buna 42 Hardin 26

The Panther of course!!!! An oldy but a goody

Will be a dog fight for the final 2 play-off spots I can tell you that...Until someone steps up and knocks Buna out they have to be favored to repeat this year..Now the fight for 2nd and 3rd could be fun to watch.!! I will have my boys in Anahuac ready to compete..thats for sure!

I know its early and baseball should not be mentioned until after football..lol but just an announcement that the annual Anahuac baseball Tourney will be held Feb 21-23 ....so all teams, coaches interested just let Coach Willis know..thanks

I will agree that yes Buna is highly favored to win at home against the panthers friday night but weren't they last year too..? Buna has a great team and I wish them all the luck but the battle between a panther and cougar might be closer than people think...!!

I agree rhino this will be a great game with deweyville prooving their record is no fluke and on the other hand Hardin playing close to perfection..Will Hardin fall back to earth friday night or will Deweyvilles schedule come back to haunt them...?? All these questions!!

I know its not the SETX area but when we watched Livingston and HJ scrimmage a few weeks back the kicker from Livingston was very impressive to say the least....50+ was made 3-5 times..not bad for a 4A HS ...!!

anahuac is on the way up I think, the turn-overs are killing them the last 2 games big time. Don't know much about Splendora but then again its hard to beat any team if you can't beat yourself..but I think the Panthers put it together this week for homecoming and defeat Splendora 27-17
