Yes just read, we had to do that early this year and lost to Lton by 60. Sucks what the ADs and Supers decided for this district. -

Sorry just read what happened, been there done that with the COVID... the leaders of this district should be ashamed that they make these kids either forfeit or play with what you have when other districts are being very flexible with rescheduling games. This gives LCM a win without their scorer that would have been an L under normal circumstances, gives them a better shot at the last playoff spot. This season is beyond jacked up, I wonder if Vidor has to play the real Silsbee next week? -

That’s a lot of trips to the line in 2 games... Who does he think he is James Harden? -
Should be interesting to see what they can do next year with an extremely young team. All I can think of coming back on D is J. Smith and a couple of linebackers, on O you have 2 RBs and a couple of linemen. I still think they make the playoffs and I wouldn’t be surprised if they finish in better position than last years team. This past season was disappointing to me and it turns out that the 2019 team was a much more well rounded Pirate squad. That team would have done well in 4A and I think this young 2021 team will do just fine. I don’t see LCM or Lumberton turning it around that fast with new coaches coming in, so I think 3rd or 4th place will be in play for Vidor next season.

You’re right about that, I think the Pirates should have scheduled a few more teams on par with them to build something early in the season. But this season is so weird and volatile as far as scheduling goes so I’m sure there was a bit of take whatever you can get. COVID took away our matchup with the Indians, a game that I’m sure both teams wanted and needed before district. Vidor probably only ends up getting 20 games in this year, that is if everything goes according to schedule the rest of the season. -

I’d have to agree with that, looks about right. 4th spot probably comes down to OF or WOS. I had a high opinion on LCM coming in but they may be without #0 for a while so it’s going to be hard for them to score with some of the other teams. As for my Pirates they have already started in such a big hole with the COVID shutdown. It’s going to be hard for them to fight out of the bottom but they are improving each and every game. They are hungry for a win and you are starting to see it on the court. Hopefully with a game off Tuesday our PG can get himself feeling right. -

Yea you may be right, I don’t have a good read on OF this season. Just basing my opinion off past teams, maybe they have something different now. I haven’t seen them yet and they haven’t played many common opponents. Looks like they scheduled mostly 2A and 3A schools this year. -

He was lighting it up from deep but got hurt early in the game. From what I understand he was coming off an injury but it looked like he hurt it again. Looked like a lower leg injury to me. -

Just a little upset about this game, the boys had a good chance to win this one. #12 was playing well with 16 points, we had the lead with 4 minutes to go and he fouls out... Got an early technical foul that the ref was fooled on, it was a little retaliation shove after a guy chest bumped him. Then tried to play rim protector on defense, blocked a guy clean twice but got called for a foul on the second one. They always want to go for the block but these refs are just itching to call a foul if you extend your arms towards the shooter and swat the ball. These are teaching moments though, they always call the second guy on a dust up and I’m sure LCM was looking to get some cheap fouls on him. It worked, gotta learn from it and keep improving. Can’t be going for blocks with 4 fouls even if you get the ball clean. Go straight up like they always say, let the guy score if you have to but stay in the game. This team could win if they would start hitting some shots, probably went 3 for 15 beyond the arc. #0 was looking good for LCM but went down hard, hopefully he’s ok. You hate to see that happen to such a good player, the kid has some serious range on his shot. -

He’s pretty good, definitely draws the attention of the whole crowd to his team huddle during the timeouts so I’m sure he has the full attention of his players. I figured the person named DJ posting on here was a coach associated with West Orange, had no idea he was the head coach though lol. -

57-49 WOS final they look pretty good, probably a playoff team this year. Good toughness from the Vidor PG playing hurt all game and a good game for #12 leading the Pirates with 16 points. The Pirates only true big fouled out in the 4th and then WOS really killed them on the boards. If Vidor could hit half of their free throws it would have came down to the end but that’s been a problem all year long. This isn’t a very good shooting team like they’ve had in the past, you don’t see that 3 ball go down nearly enough but they fight hard. Still think they sneak up on a team or two if they have a good shooting night, need to keep improving. -

#23 appears to be the key for WOS maybe that’s what they’ve been missing a guy to take the ball and make things happen. 53-42 WOS 2:21 4th qtr -

The Mustangs stopped pressing for some reason in the 3rd and the Pirates were able to cut the lead to single digits but they can’t buy a bucket at the rim the WOS 6’ 6” guy is defending the paint very well 47-34 after 3. -

Pirates with a bunch of easy chances at the rim to cut it to single digits early in the second half but nothing doing 29-39 WOS midway through the 3rd. -

Good action packed game so far WOS press is stifling the Pirates some but when they break it there’s easy buckets on the other end. Vidor has to hit their free throws, rebound better and stop giving up offensive put backs. -

37-24 WOS at halftime, Mustangs proving to be too much inside and also hitting their 3’s. Vidor had a chance to keep pace at the free throw line but they are shooting a horrible percentage. -

WOS with a half dunk sort of... bounced it off the backboard and it went in while hanging on the rim but it counted so it counts I guess. -

22-12 WOS after 1, they look much improved from what I have seen the last 2 seasons. Pirates struggling with the press and getting beat on the boards.
