Just be glad Lumberton didn’t have to move up to 5A it looked like they were before they shifted the realignment numbers. You’ve got 2 more years to complete for the playoffs until they move up in my opinion.

That’s going to be tough, I know WOS has only had 1 scrimmage and 1 game but they haven’t been scored on yet. That may not happen for a while their defense is salty. Too bad we can’t call them the chain gang anymore but whatever we call them they are good.

It’s going to be a fun game, a battle of who will win up front. Whoever can control the line of scrimmage will win the game. Old school football for old farts like @Hagar.

You do have the advantage of having just seen a similar offense, HJ has an old coach from Vidor and I think they run a similar scheme. The Pirates have put in a few wrinkles this season but it’s no secret. Run, run and run. When that’s not working, run it some more.

Most likely the QB was either Fawcett or little Quirante they were both able to run the offense pretty well. Humble was a good Running back for Vidor for a few years. That team had some talent but they had a terrible season aside from the Jasper game. They put it all together the following year, beat Ned at their place and beat PA at home for a share of the DC. Our arch nemesis Crosby put us out in the first round of the playoffs though. We love to give Crosby hell but we really had a good competitive rivalry with them for several years. Hopefully we can build something here in 4A and rekindle some good old rivalries with Jasper and the local perineal powerhouse teams in the area.

Jasper is definitely the favorite but if Vidor can pull off the upset it may open some eyes and give them a significant bump in the rankings. IF they can pull it off and prove that they are a contender, the Pirates will be favored in every district game and could have a chance to run the table.

Let’s get the discussion started, this should be a good game. The #5 state ranked 4AD2 school 3-0 Jasper vs 2-0 Vidor a rising 4AD1 newcomer. Can the Pirates limit their mistakes and slow the Jasper running backs? Can Jasper hold down the Vidor rushing attack that is averaging almost 400 yards a game?

Yes he’s the youngest of the group just a sophomore.

Is it too late to put Newton on the schedule lol nows your chance to get em while they’re down.

Just speculating but I’m sure Newton will be fine this year when they return to 3a competition.

Outgunned... 70-0 they were out everythinged.

Also the VIdor QB #3 Root probably has 350 yards and 5 or 6 touchdowns in 2 games. Somebody check the stats on that boy, if he keeps it up all season it’s going to be special.

Vidor has won 2 games while throwing exactly 1 pass, so much for opening up the passing attack this year. But when you are probably averaging 4 yards a rush why throw. We should have 1000 yards on the ground by halftime of the next game.

I had 35-17 could have easily been 35-14 if we don’t give them a TD with a bad punt snap and if we score on the 1st and goal from the 2 possession. I’ll take this close wins though, last year we lost all of these close games.
