  1. I prefer the "Thin Blue Line" defense, why don't you go with that? It doesn't sound very intimidating, which I think is exactly what you're going for. Vidor had the thin blue line going down the middle of their helmets a few years ago, I thought that was a nice gesture.
  2. It's so easy to explain if you just think of it this way. It's like a riddle, wrapped up in an enigma, inside a conundrum... but really strong.. and fast.
  3. Yea we gave the Nederland game away late and the PNG game too for that matter. The scrimmage with Silsbee last year was just about a stalemate, I think Vidor had a slim lead until the backups got in. Our defense played great last year but wore down late in several games when the offense struggled to keep the ball moving. You should see a completely different offense if things work out with the new/old QB coming back and the defense has returners at all key positions except linebacker, we lost some good'ns. But I'm telling you right here, right now... the key to this game will be, PHYSICAL SPEED!
  4. It should be a good close game, whoever brings the physical speed will win. I just hope they play, keep that virus away from our kids!
  5. I was thinking Vidor by 2 scores but now that I see the game is in Silsbee, I'll go with... Pirates by 3 scores.
  6. Did Central have Whaley and Jacquet at the same time? I remember them being a pretty good team with Whaley, was Jacquet the QB?
  7. I say most of this jokingly but I do think we will have a good team. QB who left last season after showing promise on Varsity as a Sophomore, he's back for his Senior season. O-line should be stacked with some big boys, need to fill in at RB but we always have kids to run the ball. D-line will cause trouble with the man child in the middle, secondary has some experienced athletes. New kids will have to step up to fill some linebacker spots and the kicking game... hell who knows? You should see an experienced, well disciplined Pirate squad that is led by a good Senior class.
  8. Vidor will be the undefeated DC and make a deep playoff run! It's our year, this is our best chance to do something like that in a long time anyways. That is if we play football next season...
  9. Does anyone have Vidor's full schedule for next season?
  10. Does anybody have the full team or am I missing it somewhere?
  11. The Doucette kid from LCM has the potential to be pretty good.
  12. Oh 10-4 😂 well it should have decided the district too.
  13. Still DC uh huh. Hard to stop Silsbee, they found a way with an assist from HF.
  14. 3rd round I remember going to College Station and watching that game, we got beat by a much more athletic team but it was a close game that we gave away. Noah Cole was the ball handler, one of my best friends little brother. He was the common denominator as far as starters go with Coach English Vidor squads. He was tough as nails, the ultimate competitor and could shoot the 3 ball. I remember him crying like a baby after that game. Good dude, now heavily involved in VIdor Little Dribblers with his kids in the mix.
  15. Coach English worked his magic on them, that was a great season but you are correct. Central clipped us at their place and we had an upset loss also. Good times man, those two playoff years. We’ve been chasing another banner ever since lol.
  16. Solid strategy, let’s see how it plays out for them.
  17. Well... go Indians! Never cared for Crosby too much in any sporting event.
  18. Word on the street is Lumberton Varsity had the flu and they sent the JV team to play this game.
  19. Nederland playing well at then end of the year or BH about to make an early exit?
  20. Dang... How many new recruits did HF bring in since the last time these two teams played?
  21. It has to be, a legend is born. Hopefully they don’t go right back to sucking in short order.
