Talking about how we use illegal low blocks and chop blocks that are going to get somebody hurt bad… sounds like one of their coaches to me lol.
-
What are you talking about? Illegal formational or procedural stuff? Or are you accusing Vidor of playing dirty? You probably have no clue, penalties have not been a big problem this year. They play hard for 4 quarters and have a physical style of play. If Lumberton doesn’t like that then they are in big trouble. Come Friday night they better match the intensity and physicality the Pirates will bring. Whining to the referees or complaining about officiating ain’t gonna cut it, it’s tackle football. 🏴☠️

Vidor -10 points fav or +10 point dog?
-
Just hearing from some of the older kids that they have 2 good backs and one of them is going to be really good. Just wondering if anyone has seen them or knew if the freshman team was doing good this year.
-
Exactly, we get a little crazy in here but that’s a yard too far. Flag, unsportsmanlike conduct 15 yard penalty. Or would it be considered unnecessary roughness? Either way, you can’t do that lol.
-
At least not on a football field… sheesh.

Not sure if I should trust maxpreps but it says the Vidor defense only allowed 150 total yards to Huffman. Crazy that they got 2 scores out of that but still an excellent performance by the defense and they also created several turnovers. Hopefully they can bring it like that against Lumberton and carry us to the 1 seed DC. Our offense put up 300 yards vs HH but only scored once. We have to find the end zone against the Raiders and finish off those nice long clock eating drives. Edited: I had a misspelled word in the last sentence that made it a bit raunchy, sorry to those that may have seen that.
-
I’d like for Huffman to beat Livingston but it wouldn’t upset me at all if the Lions pulled the upset. I just want the Pirates to win and HH go in as a 4 seed because I think they can give the east teams a hard time.
-
Do we have any Pirate fans on here that know anything about our freshman team? I’m hearing they have a couple of good running backs, I wonder if they would move a youngster up for the rest of the season.
-
I haven’t heard anything but he was very wobbly on the sideline, he popped up once and then stumbled back down. Stayed down being attended to for a while, looked like a head injury to me but idk for sure. If it was a concussion, you know how careful they are with that. I would think it’s going to be hard for him to play this week. The HH trainer looked pretty upset with the referees that they continued to play the game with that kid just barely on the sideline being cared for. She even ran out onto the field to get the head officials attention and have them stop play while they moved him. Could you imagine if another play had went that way, carried out of bounds and caused another collision.
-
Yea he made a couple of good runs against HH in the first quarter and then got hurt. Our offense never really got it going again after that, the kid does his job very well on every play. Even when he doesn’t get the ball he makes his blocks or executes his fakes. The kid they brought in to replace him got knocked out too and probably won’t play this week. We were down to third string and even had DBs carry the ball. I’m sure they will need to make some moves to fill that spot.

The Splendora game was horrible but then the way we were playing at LCM and the way we played against Livingston really made me think we had it rolling. We didn’t look the same tonight and took some key injuries to boot. I hope they can turn it around and right the ship because if that hungry team shows up we win. It’s just going to have to be new guys stepping up and bringing the same level of intensity. That being said we didn’t play our best tonight and still could have won the game. It would be nice for the Pirates to get a big win like this going into the playoffs with the 1 seed and some confidence vs going in off back to back losses and 4 seed again.

3 way tie for top spot in 4a div 1 who takes top spot

They also almost came back to beat Lumberton, those are their only two losses on the season I think. They could finish 8-2 and go in as a 4 seed, I won’t shed a tear for them though lol. The other possibility that has me worried is Vidor finishing the season with only 2 losses and going in as a 4 seed, I may actually cry if that happens. Crazy district we have, those wins vs HH were huge for LCM and Ltown. I’m glad y’all got them or Huffman would be sitting on top right now. -

Sad thing is half of that was to Splendora lol we gave them 5 turnovers. That could be the key for Lumberton, force 5 turnovers. -

Huffman is going to be a hard out for one of those teams in my opinion. -

I think HH is going to give one of those teams a handful in the first round. -

I was hoping for the 3 way tie, everybody in the area gets to share the DC. Too bad HH wasn’t having that, now we gotta take the title and the 1 seed. -
Would been a lot cooler if the Pirates could have took care of HH tonight then we could let Lumberton win, that way everybody in the area gets a share of the DC. Didn’t work out so now we gotta smash Lumberton, sorry Raiders we’ll just split it with LCM now.
-
Vidor wins 28-14 but we still let LCM share the DC even though we beat them at their place. I’m fine with sharing a title just get the 1 seed boys, bring it on home. A little banged up but we've got the home field advantage, no excuses.

If LCM takes care of their business next week then they are guaranteed a share of the DC no matter how the other games shake out correct? -

Air raid for the Raiders, perfect. Air Raiders. Spread passing attack vs ground and pound run game. Should be an interesting match up, without all of the injuries at RB I would have a lot more confidence but we’ll find some guys to tote the rock. Just hope it doesn’t take away from our defense, we need those guys in the secondary to play big. Hopefully we won’t need them in the offensive backfield also. -

Pirates went down… Stros went down… I’m heartbroken tonight and heartburning from them nachos earlier. -

That could neutralize our defensive line, going to be a big test for the secondary. Does Lumberton line up in the shotgun every play? That’s what HH did but their QB is definitely a dual threat, anytime he held the ball though we were after him but he’s good enough to run away from you sometimes. -

Yea, only thing that worries me is we played pretty soft coverage all night. Basically gave them whatever they wanted on the short routes but didn’t allow any big plays over the top. Not sure how that will play against a team like Lumberton, might have to tighten up the coverage and that could open up the deep shot. Long routes take time though and that sets up our pass rush with a chance to tee off. I just don’t like watching us getting dink and dunked on with the quick short passing game though. I remember Santa Fe coming into Vidor and eating us up with that a few years ago. -

They won’t have the ball long enough to throw it 30 to 40 times if they allow our offense to move the ball. Can we do that idk, we lost some key offensive players tonight. Does Ltown have a stout defense? It’s going to be an interesting game of two completely different styles. HH basically used their QB (stud), 2 receivers running 3 different routes and a swing pass out of the backfield. Looks like if you guys take care of business next week you get a share of the DC no matter how the other games shake out.
