What is the weather supposed to be like? If it's more of this cold, windy, rainy mess then I think that would be advantage Pirates. Ltown wont be able to execute the passing game as efficiently, we might see some more of the dropsies like LCM had with a wet ball. Either way the field wont be an issue, the playing surface should be fine for running the ball. Those plastic pellets and synthetic turf don't seem to hold the water as much as the natural grass. Me personally I kinda miss the old mud slop field with the way they used to custom paint different awesome looking designs on the 50 yard line and end zones every year.

That is almost the exact score and was the situation last season but in reverse with Vidor dominating Lumberton. I expect similar results this year, until Ltown proves to me otherwise. They just haven't had the size or physicality to match up with the Pirates in the past. I know they have turned it around somewhat but that would be one hell of a drastic turnaround to make a 60 point swing from last years performance. Vidor has improved a lot from last season also and might just have a better team than you're expecting with that blowout pull the starters prediction.

Actually I think LCM would be guaranteed the 2nd spot if Vidor wins, no matter what happens in their game vs Splendora. So you should tell your people they should really be pulling for the Pirates on Friday night. 🏴‍☠️

Yea probably be 3rd regardless of who wins this game but an LCM loss would give the Vidor vs Lumberton winner the outright DC title… interesting. 🤔 Dare I say ‘Go Splendora!’ lol.

That’s what I was thinking but we don’t have that option, it’s either 1 or 4 for the Pirates. Crazy that it works out that way but we would have been better off beating Huffman and losing this week. You guys have either 1 or 2 locked in, great spot to be in (I’m assuming you beat Splendora I mean cmon man) guaranteed to avoid Lindale or Kilgore in the first round of the playoffs. Lumberton wants the win for the same reason, seeding 2 instead of 3 is a big deal.

Wouldn’t it be something if they lost to Splendora while they were rooting for Lumberton to beat Vidor… no don’t see it happening but it would be funny.

They don’t want to watch their own team play or do they just want to watch Vidor dominate a team they are rooting for again? Seems like we’ve picked up some haters along the way, must be doing something right. Even if the Pirates win LCM gets a share of the DC and goes in as the 2 seed. I figured they would be happy either way, maybe they just want to see us fall to #4 again but it’s understandable after we beat em pretty bad.

Ikr, rarely do we get the opposing teams coaching staff on here to complain about calls in a game that hasn't even been played yet.

Oh boy, here's another issue. You only have to come set for what, maybe a second? But since ya'll are bringing it up, we have been flagged for that. Illegal procedure, men in motion penalty has been called quite a few times this year.

Well you don't have to worry much about Vidor WRs coming at you with a crack back block or chop block. They rarely ever split anyone out wide, mostly everything comes from the bunch formation. I think what the original complainer was seeing on the film was the Pirates throwing their cut blocks on every play, they definitely teach that. Vidor has a well known reputation for cutting you and its a major part of our blocking scheme. Of course they are trying to execute the blocks legally, whether or not it's a penalty, well that's up to the interpretation of the referees,. All I can say is there hasn't been a big problem with chop block flags this season, that to me means they are executing their blocks very well. Cause you definitely know when we get called for one, those things are drive killers for the Pirates.

Talking about how we use illegal low blocks and chop blocks that are going to get somebody hurt bad… sounds like one of their coaches to me lol.

What are you talking about? Illegal formational or procedural stuff? Or are you accusing Vidor of playing dirty? You probably have no clue, penalties have not been a big problem this year. They play hard for 4 quarters and have a physical style of play. If Lumberton doesn’t like that then they are in big trouble. Come Friday night they better match the intensity and physicality the Pirates will bring. Whining to the referees or complaining about officiating ain’t gonna cut it, it’s tackle football. 🏴‍☠️

Vidor -10 points fav or +10 point dog?

Just hearing from some of the older kids that they have 2 good backs and one of them is going to be really good. Just wondering if anyone has seen them or knew if the freshman team was doing good this year.

Exactly, we get a little crazy in here but that’s a yard too far. Flag, unsportsmanlike conduct 15 yard penalty. Or would it be considered unnecessary roughness? Either way, you can’t do that lol.

Not sure if I should trust maxpreps but it says the Vidor defense only allowed 150 total yards to Huffman. Crazy that they got 2 scores out of that but still an excellent performance by the defense and they also created several turnovers. Hopefully they can bring it like that against Lumberton and carry us to the 1 seed DC. Our offense put up 300 yards vs HH but only scored once. We have to find the end zone against the Raiders and finish off those nice long clock eating drives. Edited: I had a misspelled word in the last sentence that made it a bit raunchy, sorry to those that may have seen that.

I’d like for Huffman to beat Livingston but it wouldn’t upset me at all if the Lions pulled the upset. I just want the Pirates to win and HH go in as a 4 seed because I think they can give the east teams a hard time.
