Both have around the same amount of yardage and td's on the year.  Navasota passes 70% of the time, so, there's more to the offense than the "ace" receiver.

And because of la marque's inability to bust the game open in the first half with all its 3 and out opportunities, it allowed coldsprings to get back in the game  mid-way thru the 3rd Q with their decent offense. La marque's Offense NOW , is far from stagnant as we've seen from the 5 shut on wins. Also might i add, even when we let coldsprings get momentum and get back in the game, they couldnt finish the job in regulation. It took a last minute TD to decide who would win. La marque will come into this rematch angry, not just confident.... They're a team on a mission and thats something hard to stop. I say la marque by at least 2 TD's. [/quote] From what I saw, Coldspring has improved since losing to Navasota especially on the offensive side of the ball.. Nothing against La Marque, but those shutout wins were in a very weak district (like Navasota) with both West Columbia and Sweeny being down.. I wouldn't be surprised by either team pulling out the victory.

Navasota vs Jasper is always entertaining. Jasper has the ability to make it close but I think the Rattlers win. Navasota 38-14.

I haven't gotten a chance to see Columbia play this year, but on paper, I don't think that they will be able to stay with the Mustangs. Columbia has won the games that they should have.  Reading comments from another site, some from Columbia have suggested that the loss against La Marque was not an indication of how close the game actually was.  With that said, there is nothing close about a 40+ point loss.  WOS has been consistently GOOD all year.  I don't see that changing this week if the Mustangs continue to do what they have done all year.  Columbia knows how to win after getting to the semifinals in 2010 and 2011 so I expect the Roughnecks to throw everything they have a WOS. WOS wins.

It's funny that most have not seen Navasota but are quick to pass judgement. True, you are entitled to your opinion, but please make a valid one.  Those who have seen Navasota, have a different opinion. Don't say Navasota will not win, etc especially if you have not seen the Rattlers play, that's stupidity and pure ignorance. And, if the show doesn't fit, I'm not talking to you. Otherwise, wear it. Just to make it known, most of the Rattler following do not believe we have the best defense in 3a.  In fact, we can care less.  After 5 consecutive loses in the quarterfinals, we take one game at a time.  We are humbled to be considered one of the best in the state but we know that any thing can happen. [/quote] No denying that, but the poster said Navasota has the best defense in the state and used the Coldspring game as his example.  I am familiar with Navasota's football program because of a friend who lives in there, knows Coach Fedora, has a son who played there and a wife who teaches in the district.  Every year we compare notes on each team.  We never thought our teams would possibly be on a collision course because Navasota has always played in D1 and WO-S always in D2.  As tempted as I am to talk about this possible matchup, I really want to wait and see how things play out in the brackets.  Upsets can and will happen almost every year.  Like I said earlier...both teams have to EARN their way.
