For a young program ...SC's kids are getting a good bit of attention from the college ranks.  There's a nice handful that are walking on this year as well.  Our former killer safety, Najee Bassoon, played at Blinn last year and has transferred to HBU this year.  I know two guys from last year's squad that are walking on at Prairie View.

 6. I attended ...will echo much of what the other attendees stated.  This coaching staff has proven they can really pull the guys together when its time to line up in August/September. Just hoping they don't get to cocky and get stunned early by a hungry team.  They need to save the cockiness for ME.
MTC, he's probably right. I know what YOUR saying though. Basically all he has to do is start next year and he should be able to make enough plays for some decent film. The taller he can get the more offers he'll receive because recruiters know in a couple years he's going to be 6-something and weigh in the mid to high 220s just like Allen. Before the Nike camp Dakota was considered strictly an inside lb, but after he ran good 40 for his position he was considered more versatile. That's important, especially if you play in a conference where you see a lot of spread offenses which means you have to cover TE's and RB's more than usual. It means you can play three downs. I don't know how good of a RB he'll be but LB or an Aaron Hernandez-like TE could be in play come offer time and he's going to be rated high no matter what because of how well he tests. I'm with you though My Two, put it on film.
Dakota is a great athlete, but I've yet to see him dominate a game from his position.  I was expecting a huge year from him last year.  He was solid, but there were others that out shined him for sure.  This year if he's not the kind of player that demands offenses to plan for him ...and if not a top defender in the state ...hmmmm?  Maybe a move to another position would be better.  He could be interesting at RB or TE.
Hope that works out for DeMarius at HBU. Now for Dakota, he has double digit offers so if you want to speak to someone about a position change for him I would suggest you speak with Colorado, Grambling ,Houston, Illinois, Iowa St, Kansas, Kansas State, La Lafayette, North Texas, Texas Tech, and TCU.
Thanks for posting that, im starting to think DemDawgs doesnt have a clue bout SC.  ::)
Buddy you're a hater that doesn't miss a chance to take a shot at me along with 15 other guys in this forum.  Flex your forum muscle chump.
Might I be talking to Dad?  Hey, he's a huge talent ...that's clear, but the expectations will be very high for a guy that brings those kinds of offers.  If you have Kolbe on your High School BBall team, the expections are going to be 10X the others around him.  Domio was a BEAST at his position ...but is headed to Blinn College as I understand.  Dequann Ruffin received early interest from schools and had one of the 1st offers I can recall.  IMO there are atleast two other receivers with better numbers and talent.
 9.
Jordan Braden may have had the most carries of any of their {Summer Creek} running backs last year but he was the third leading rusher on his team behind a third-string running back.Deunte Chatman is the real deal.Check out what he did in the spring game and you will see that he is a better back.If they have a open competition for running back at SC and show no favortism he would win the job hands down.He is bigger,6'1 faster 40 4.5 and stronger bench-presses almost 400 pounds
Just don't think Braden is a natural RB.  He was much more productive at receiver. The 3rd string RB from last year, DeMarius Smith, is headed to HBU this year.  He may receive a partial Football scholarship.  He's been training at Athletic Republic with Derrick Blaylock since February.

I know they have Seau and Krautz working at WR, and they have some linemen coming back, as their Def has quite a few coming back too. They should be the team to beat in 20-4A. But, you never know....
they are. after 2 straight DC'S, they have a big ole X on their back.
Yep.  Agreed.  I'm really interested to see if SC can manage the role of top dog this year.  SC has been in the under-dog role and looking for respect up through last season.  I heard SC was ranked #1 on one of the polls.  Just like in college and the pros, its REALLY hard to repeat a championship because every team is gunning for you.  You really have to play smart, tough, & disciplined football week in and week out.  Also, a solid running game really helps in those tough tight games.  We have a new guy trying RB this year.  He looked good in the Spring ball game, but lets see how it works out in the reg season.  SC coaches seem to like RB by committee.  I really think they should give AJ Jeffrey a shot at RB as that was his position last year at CE King.
 12.
The team that stayed with SC the closest last year was BH and that was without our QB.. BH will have practically the entire team back from last year and we have them at home this year. Last years scores SC vs Crosby .. won by 28 points.... 49-21 SC vs Dayton... won by 38 points .... 45-7 SC vs BH ...Won by 13 points .... 24-11 Oh and BH is 2-0 over Big Ned over the last 3 years ;D My answer is BH for both 8)
I agree.  BH "should" be a tough match up ...if not the toughest match up in the district IF what's on paper plays out on the field.  The number of returning starters to BH makes them serious contenders.  The experience that group gained last year + the normal improvement that's expected from year to year is making BH look like trouble for the rest of the district.  I'm sure the SC game will be HUGE.  I'd expect BH to be 110% fired up and ready.
 13. And maybe I'm skeptical but sc lost all there receivers. Yes they still have sharp and the transfer RB so I see them being as good as they were last year but not better and I see Ned being not as good. Heck I'll even go as far to say central (or png depending on how good there freshman are) will challenge them for the crown.
You can underestimate Nederland all you want, but the fact remains they are going to be hard to get around again.... PNG i think is still a year or so from being back to where they once were... Summer Creek is going to be hard to stop again... hands down... they are big, athletic, and have that attitude that will keep them moving whether the defense holds up or not you have to stop that offense and with the addition of King and with the rest of their returners its going to be a tough road for 19-4A to unthrown them... as much as i like to see all the SC fans get riled up on here the one thing they have backing them is their performance in the past 2 seasons.... and I am also wondering if the ISD that is getting closed in Houston has any talent and when HISD takes it over if some of them will evacuate to surronding communities ... i am not sure of where this ISD is.... what ISDs are close to them and will they be able to make any impact on them school districts as far as added talent..... maybe one of the SC guys will get on and help me with this....
There's been some chatter about kids from North Forest trying to slip over to SC.  Most likely those that defect from HISD will land in CE King (I believe King is in the Sheldon ISD).  I've been hearing kids from Humble HS are trying to get into SC as well. I watched the Summer ball game.  I was under whelmed and concerned out our defense (even more than last year).  We have some great players on offense, but its yet to be seen if they will mold into a team with good chemistry.
 14. You still are just as angry as when I left you.  Hey...when SC moves to 5A, your team might have a chance.  Just not this year.
 15. JacktheHater ...it's been a while.  What school do you support again?
 16. Dayton has been around since Sam Houston.  They've had plenty more opportunities.

 18. Katy should give half their titles to Northshore and Humble ISD's.  Where they recruit all their skill players.
 19. Because you knew you had no chance at State.  Of course you went away quiet.

SC doesn't spend a lot of time with the Freshman or JV squad. They grab the top talent and move them to Varsity where all the attention is placed.
If SC keeps doing that they will eventually set them self up for disaster.
I tend to agree, but that's what I've observed as a parent of two players. Their starting JV runs the offense/defense of their upcoming opponent all week in practice.  Its tough for the kids to play their own game because they don't get much time to learn the SC playbook.  They just look for kids that are shining and/or help plug a need on Varsity.
a lot of schools do that.
Yep ...but the JV games really don't give you a sense of the team.  They could have lots of individual talent, but not be able to execute due to limited attention and coaching.
then why make comments about your freshmen team as it pertains to the future success of the program if they are  for the most part over looked. from your previous post: You clearly haven't seen our Freshmen from last year then you follow that up with :SC doesn't spend a lot of time with the Freshman or JV squad.  They grab the top talent and move them to Varsity where all the attention is placed.
Cricket cricket cricket
Thank you for making my point.  They grab the top talent (which we have lots) and move them up.  I know you're from the sticks, but atleast act like you can read.
hey, we acknowledged that loss and gave credit to SC. we didn't whine about enrollment numbers like you did with G-town which by the UIL's COUNT ACTUALLY WAS A BIT SMALLER SCHOOL.
There is a distinct advantage schools have during their 1st year dropping down.  We saw it with Humble as well.  The real G-Town will stand up this year.  SC was ROBBED of our birth rite.  The UiL added to the pain by setting us up against G-Town in round 2.  That game should have been to determine who went to state.  Neverland and Angleton had no business playing after week 2.  SC would have stomped either squad.

 24. SC by a mile.  Only gone up since day one.  We've won championships in two districts.  Best pound for pound team in the region.
