1. I definitely saw a loyal, passionate fan base when Summer Creek played PNG.  I'm from the Northeast and my take on Texas HS football is it must be tremendous pressure on the kids playing the game.  I've never seen anything like the stadiums and crowds found here in the Lone Star State. I hate to see kids get cheated by poor coaching, but we need to keep this all in perspective too.  I'm taking my own advice here as well ...I've been a bit crazy in this forum. I gotta believe PNG will be back strong.  Your district was very strong this year so I'm sure that added to the frustration. Have a great Thanksgiving.

 4. I firmly agree that Katy is about program building over team building.  That's clear in the product they produce collectively vs the individual input of talent.  I've seen this same kind of success in my home state of Pennsylvania.  If you're bored, check out the run of Central Bucks West.  They are very Katy-like in the quality of coaching and the program they have established.  They're also very Katy-like in having similar demographics of student body. Regarding education, Humble ISD has the tax base to have world class teaching and schools.  If you can build two new high schools and renovate another one (not to mention all the new middle and elementary schools) PLUS renovate Turner field into a place many small colleges would envy ...my goodness, there can't be a shortage of money.

They have talent pools twice SC size almost, and we wouldn't be able to compete with that.....now if you talking skill players, our skill players can play and start at any one of those schools...that's why we beat Northshore every year in 7 on 7..,,.you give SC Northshores and Katy lineman, and see what happens....Dline too. 8)
Agree 100% and that's the point I was trying to make from the start.
GREAT correction and analysis.  I was going to look at the number of D1 success each school has to date.  I'm really not trying to diminsh Katy's accomplishments.  I don't wanna sound like the SC haters out there.  I'm just saying that school has some SLOW "skill" position players and w/o their 300lb lineman, that team would be sunk.  Fundamentals and great coaching can win on the high school level.  Talent and speed win at the next level.  Everyone is well coached at the next level.

I know, I'm experiencing it now.  Early in the season PAM would have drug Manvel up and down the field. (and I'm a Manvel fan). Honestly 5A is a whole different ball game in the trenches.  Playing a teams like NS convinced me of that.  When a team has 2 or 3 different, big and talented lines on both side of the ball to throw at you for 4 quarters, depth immediatedly becomes an issue.  And the average 5A team never quit... never!  LP and PAM has learned how to play against the big schools... Scheme wise, clock wise etc... It's not easy bro.  SC can't beat half the teams that lost in the 1st round of 5A playoffs. ex:  PAM, Pearland, Cy Falls, Lake Travis, Cy Fair, Klein Oak, Spring Dekaney... etc  Manvel would probably be ranked #1 4A without the alignment.  Now we just in the middle of the pack taking it one game at a time.  It ain't easy.  There's no Yates, Sharpstowns etc... in 5A playoffs.
Will agree totally about the depth issue and this is precisely why SC is in 4A.  We have 3 schools in a small area.  Now, if you were to combine those schools, we'd be beat the tar outta everyone including Katy.  You can't tell me our QB and Receivers would not start on most 5A teams. The trenches are where most 4A teams are LIGHT in comparison to the powerhouse 5A teams.  I stand by what said about the year's SC QB & Receivers giving heck to a lot of 5A schools.
I know those SC kids can play... I have no doubt.  Watch you guys last year when I thought there would be a possible Manvel/SC match-up.  Manvel skill  players (several D1's commits) took us as far as we could go in week 1 vs NS. We got destroyed in the trenches and NS eventually wore us down and took over the game.  I totally understand what you are thinking, but it will not work week in and week out.  Manvel emptied the talent tree from the Freshman team on up... start putting the best talent in game situations until we learned to compete, finish and become well rounded.  Never would have had to do that in 4A bro.  Like I say... I have total respect for LP and PAM for learning how to adjust with the bare minimum.  Most don't bro... honestly most get crushed by mid-season. Look at LT... a few injuries and stiffer competition got them wiped out 1st round, by a average 5A team.  It's for real in 5A.  And SC please don't fall in 21-5A... Please don't.
SC isn't going to 5A with all these high schools around the corner.  A once very proud Humble High School dropped to 4A and they're now STRUGGLING IN 4A!  Humble was a very formidable opponent PRE-Atascocita High School.  Now with SC drawing from the talent pool too, I really think we have three 4A schools in the area.  I don't see the numbers in Humble/Atascocita picking up to compete with a Katy area talent pool. Slo-mo Katy needs to thank God Northshore and Galena Park didn't combine.  If they did, Katy would be getting their tails whooped year in and year out.  Same deal with a combined single Humble school district.  Katy would need motorcycles to keep up with the speed on this side of town.
Every year its the same crap out of you Humble ISD people.  We are what we are, and you are what you are.  Take the best SC got, and the best we got.  and you lose by 30, that simple. On the note about SC never being 5a.  You are right, they probably wont.  My wife works for Humble ISD Administration, and Humble ISD is DONE building high school for the next 20 years. But they will be redrawing the lines VERY soon.  Summer Creek and Atascocita will be downsizing and giving neighborhoods back to Humble.    Had this not occured, Summer Creek would of been 5a next alignment.  More then likely you will see both Humble and Summer Creek return to 5a together.    Can't wait to beat on the purple kittens again and maroon puppies when they finally do come up
Yeah, I can't see Humble needing to build anymore high schools ...its sorta crazy and I really do believe the new high schools were more about selling high priced homes than actual need.  Two high schools tops would have done the job with a small expansion of each school. The neighborhood give back is also about keeping current and new homeowners happy as well.  I knew this was coming.  Humble should be a much better team after this realignment and SC will most likely suffer.  Summer Creek was supposedly built to service the Summerwood (my community) and Fall Creek masterplan communities.  All I'll say is the SC student population does not match the demographics of these communites.  Now, lets change the subject quick before we both get in trouble for talking about sensitive issues outside of football. I think Humble and SC would be foolish to go 5A unless there's some crazy population boom in the area.  Atascocita needs to drop down like Humble.
 10. Bullpup...please don't hate.  SC has made themselves so easy to love!
 11. Gotta love some Cougar14!  Has some GREAT analysis consistantly.  We're here-->  :o :o seeing eye to eye. Shady Katy is a lineman farm.  They are not a place too seek out primetime skill players.  They can wear down teams that are inferior in line play, by putting hits on the skill guys and sacking the QB.  Cinco Ranch nearly hurt Katy's feelings and they have a similar mamouth line, but just lacked the skill talent.  If Cinco had some Northshore/Galena Park/Manvel/SC skill pay....ooooooo weee.  Katy would be buying tickets this week.
You know, it was only two-three years ago your little pocket of Region 3 was spouting off about how "slow" we were.    That Atascocita team that was senior heavy, FAR more talented then this SC team, and we gave them a whooping they would never forget.    We beat them in all phases of the game, It was over before it started.  Speed means very little if your kids don't have the fundementals down.  Just ask North Shore what they think about Katy, and our "Slowness".  How about you ask Humble about our "slowness".  Ask Ike about our "Slowness".  Ask Alief Taylor about our "slowness".  lol  You are beyond hilarious.    Not only would the Tigers take you to the woodshed, we'd give your middle school players nightmares. You'll get your chance their puppies, and when you do, don't say i didn't warn you.  lol
Get the hotel outta here talking about Atascocita being "far more talented."  I saw that team (my daughter was a senior the year Atascocita play Katy in the 2nd round) and that team did not have the same level of QB play, or the receiving corp of SC.  Also, one of their starting RB's (Jarvis) got smoked by my son while he was in middle school during 40 yard dash at Atascocita's football camp (they invited the middle school for a week).  As a matter of fact my son nearly beat their top receiver in a foot race as well!  They had TWO D1 prospects (A receiver and corner).  And you must account for Humble High School having half of the area talent as well. This year's Katy team is SLOOOOOOOOOOOW.  You just have a mamouth O-line that gives you a key advantage. You can not tell me your running back is a superstar 100 meter guy.  I could run behind Katy's line. I can't argue about the fundamentals side of the deal.  You guys are sound and that goes w/o saying.  Take Katy's Oline an Dline out the equation and your skill players are 3A all day.

Crosby would be one of the only teams this year that tried to throw on his side.  And I still feel a lot of those catches we OLB's responsibility.  I think BH did the same thing with the passing game in the flat...can't remember.  He used to be a receiver during his first year on JV and seems to still have an offensive mind set more than a defensive attitude.  Keithron is my man.  He's got a lot of fight in him and isn't pushed around.  He tends to get under the opposing receivers' skin.  I really miss Najee at safety.  That guy was a killer on the field. Off the subject, are you as amazed as I am that SC is as good as they are this year?  I sorta expected a drop off after losing our senior players last year.  They guys not only didn't miss a beat, they're MUCH BETTER.  I'm expecting a decline in play next year after guys like Greg Hogan, Keevon, and others head to college.  I wish I could have seen more of the JV games to get a since of our depth.  There's surprisingly a lot of Juniors on this year's team (obviously some key ones like Aaron, Dakota, Jordan, and Torrey), but I'll be real curious to see if the 2013-2014 team is as unstoppable as we are this year.

 17. Bless you!  Awesome prayer.
 18. One last observation about Justin in the Crosby game, he made TWO game changing plays. The first was an interception in the endzone. The 2nd was a huge tackle that stopped one of the twins on 4th n short when Crosby was driving deep on our side of the field. Coach Ford gave a lot of praise to Justin in an interview after the game.

W/o the sneaky option, none of BH's RB's pose a threat.  Their offense is like running a trick play each down. It makes even marginal backs look good. Just look at Vidor.  If it were not for deception, that team isn't running on anyone.
This has nothing to do with SC vs Georgetown but........this is about the stupidest quote I have ever read. Is a quarterback only good if he drops back and passes on a 5 step drop? Play action would be deceptive and that makes even marginal QB's look good. Deception and dealing with it are part of the game........heck, we ought to throw any stats for a running back that played in the wishbone out of the books.........he isn't any good.....it was smoke and mirrors. Reminds me of obama's "you didn't build that" flub
I stand by my quote.  I don't see any player on BH or Vidor being able to line up in a traditional pro set and rack up yards.  The occasional play action does help a QB, but also takes advantage of an over blitzing defense.  Why don't most major college programs or pro teams run this style of offense?  Vidor had 5 -10 yard head starts on SC's linebackers and couldn't out run them.  Dakota Allen's highlight reel shows him repeatly running down Vidor's backs.  Without the deception, those guys wouldn't get anywhere running behind a fullback.
Justin need to have a big game. He struggles with the pass. That's why Crosby had a lot of yards passing...
I half way agree to that.  He can freeze up because he's expecting help from the safeties and linebackers (in the flat).  He really needs to be more aggressive and act like the ball is his when its in the air.  Where I disagree is he's essentially a "cover corner" that is rarely out of position.  He can stay with even the quickest of receivers and this will stop most QB's from throwning on his side.  I can't remember the last time he's been burned deep.  Now, SC's safeties have taken a nap from time to time.  Most recently that WIDE OPEN Vidor receiver that would have gotten an easy 6 if their QB could have made the pass. Crosby had a big game because our OLB's couldn't get their a** to the flat.
That's true too....Justin watches the ball in the air, and watch the WR get in position to make a play, but don't react to ball.....that's not good. I believe #23 should be over there in that spot...
Yeah, needs to break on the ball and react aggressively.  I think he's scared to get burned so he pulls up to make certain he gets the tackle.  He's gotta gamble a bit more, but I hear the coaches prefer the definite stop and that's what they coach.  Its frustrating because his flat out speed could put him in position for a lot of picks (He, Keithron, & Byron are tied at the top of the district in picks).. If you watch some of those games posted on Texanallsports, Justin presence has kept a lot of throwing from happening on his side.  I've seen some good receivers not get a reception all night while he was covering.  Crosby would be the exception, but those short throws were the linebackers responsibility.  #23 (J. Reece) isn't ready yet IMO, but should have a good year in 2013.
 21. I wish Gtown had more 2012 footage on the web.  They have lots of 2011 games posted.  I'm smelling a BLOW OUT by SC.  I just need to see how our defense handles their passing game.  Looking at their corners ...GTown is in TROUBLE.  Might end up being a shoot out if SC's defense struggles.
 22. Hey...here's the angry pirate girl.  She was WAAAAY wrong last week, and now she's trying to go 0-2 in her predictions.  :D
