Some really good points have been made about Nederland.  SC MUST GET BY GTOWN ...it really looks like things could actually get EASIER over the next two games depending how this weekend goes. That brings me to another point, I'm sorta perplexed by how the opening match ups were drawn.  Shouldn't the best teams (undefeated/district champ) get the easier opponents?  SC sure looks like we got a 1, 2 punch out the gate.  I think Nederland, BH, and Crosby should write SC a thank you letter for taking the tougher opponents in 4A D1 thus far.

Good points in the latter part of your post. SC is a true 4A team. We have THREE high school within a 5 mile radius.  The talent has been diluted over three schools. SC only has about 60 - 70 kids out for football ...that's total over Freshman, JV, and Varsity. A 5A school might see 2 times that or more.  Speaking of Humble, would you question them as a 4A team?  Right now it looks like they s/b 3A. SC has a small program in numbers, but is blessed w/ incredible players.  Last, whether 4A or 5A, they're all high school kids regardless of school size.

So you're saying a high powered offense means squat AND Nederland's DB's can cove SC's receivers?  Oooooh Kay. I think Vidor said the same thing leading up to last week's game.

Aaron reminds me of a Randall Cunningham style QB that can stay in the pocket. He has the same effortless throwing motion and is very dangerous out the pocket. Would love to see him as the big fish in a smaller pond.

SC didn't either. We crushed Dayton from the 1st qtr.  Their only score was on back ups. Did Nederland have to punt while 1st string was in?

You gotta be able to score more than 21 on this year's Dayton team. Who has Nederland played that can pass like SC?  How'd Nederland hold up? I do agree both teams have lots of business to handle before the possibility of an SC vs Nederland match up.

Their coach better put on some pads. In all seriousness, I apologize for getting under your skin. I'm enjoying the SC ride to the fullest. Many of my post are one sided but not all. Gtown seems to be a fine team and have the horses to go deep in the playoffs. I have a lot of inside information about Gtown and how they match up with SC. I'm worried about their offense, but please believe me when I say their defense is suspect. This could turn into a track meet if SC's receivers can run their routes and hold the football. That's not homer talk. That comes from real evaluation. If GTown tries to take away the pass by playing a nickel pass coverage, then I have real concern about SC's ability to win on d ground. As for Nederland, you just can't convince me that a team that only scored 12 on Vidor regardless of weather or hometown rivalry can hang w/ SC's scoring. You gotta give it up to SC, they looked pretty unstoppable through the air last week.  Nederland is a good team from all I've heard, but I gotta question their offense.  How did Dayton stay in the game w/ them. Dayton isn't anywhere near the team of SC. This is not trash talk, seriously. This is my grown up opinion.

I'll concede they might have a better run defense, but they have the benefit of playing Vidor year after year. They learned how to stop your option. Now please do no tell me Nederland's DB's can do more than watch SC's receivers have a track meet on 'em.

Pirate88, take your whoopin like a man and get ready for the 2013 Vidor Pirates. You might win your district next year. You can like Gtown all you want and I'll make sure we send U guys a tape of the Greatest Show on Turf next week. In the meantime, watch the aerial circus that took place in Deer Park stadium. SC is coming to a town near you and for a low low admission price, you too can watch your hometown team get spanked.

We don't hate Nederland, just think they're over rated like Dayton. It's frustrating to have the possibility of Nederland beating us mentioned in a sentence.  They've had close games w/ teams SC has blown out.  Them 21 points you average can't keep up w/ the 50+ SC will hang on you by half time.

SC will BLOW OUT GTown if their DB's are what was seen on tape. We need our defense to play w/ a chip on their shoulders.  If our DB's get a couple picks n can knock down balls, then game over for GTown. Their defense is suspect by the standard set by SC's offense.  They have only seen an offense close to SC's offense while in practice against themselves.

Watch the video youngin. SC's offense is the most prolific any of their opponents have seen. There's NO team in 19-A or 20-A that comes close. Gtown's defense is suspect by the standards set by our offense. Now Gtown has a solid offense and our defense needs TURNOVERS and SACKS.

You gotta discount anything a Pirate fan says about SC. Vidor got embarassed any they're still pissed. It had to be very disheartening to know exactly what SC was going to do an not be able to stop it. Our offense is as complete as it gets. Now if U want to pick at our defense, you may have more luck. Having said that, SC's defense is the best Vidor has seen this year. All those forced turnovers and go back and look at the game [Hidden Content] and you'll see a very physical defense that laid down some vicious hits.  Gtown's DB's aren't up for this challenge. Gtown has two D line players that around 5'6!  Come on man.

[/quote] I hear ya, but Vidor's DB's didn't have a prayer.  You could have dropped 6 back in coverage n still got burned. The only thing that stopped our passing game was our drops and the clock.

My apologies. I thought I saw him line up on the corner. I'll take back what I said about him getting torched.  Seeing that SC really did get much on d ground, he must have done of done a good job.

I Love Dakota, but no one on SC's defense dominated Vidor's running game. The turnovers were HUGE and w/o them Vidor would have seen the endzone 2-3 more times. I'm a huge SC fan, but I need to see Dakota and the SC defensive front spend more time in the opposing teams backfield. Sacks have been rare and we've given up a lot of big running plays. Vidor had two plays they ran at will all night. Do U think any team is scared of our defense?  They sure are scared of our offense.

I hear ya Summercreek dad ...I'm sorta gonna be mad if GTown is actually a lot of hype and I spent all week worrying about them.  Like some other posters have said, each we we're told how tough the upcoming opponent is going to be and then we go in there and "do what we do."

BHJustWin has seen the light! I'm getting reports about Georgetown and I'm hearing they're similar to Dayton on defense!  Could this be true?  I'm hearing this from those that have watched GTown's tapes.  They said the Gtown's D line is good but they have some undersized guys (a linebacker and a lineman).  Their DB's are not looking good on tape.  I gotta get the report on their offense.  These same sources were accurate about Crosby, BH, and Dayton.  We'll see if they're right again. SUMMER CREEK BEATS GEORGETOWN IN A ROUTE!  VIDOR WILL BE THE TOUGHER OF THE TWO OPPONENTS.  YOU HEARD IT HEAR FIRST!!!

So everybody is still doubting SC?  I really wish I could have seen some of Gtown's games.  The biggest wildcard is their DB's.  If these guys aren't running 4.5's or better, they won't be able to keep up with SC's receivers.  Greg Hogan went to state in track.  Torrey Johnson is another speed demon.  De'Quann Ruffin is the slowest of the bunch, but as a 3rd receiver he's pretty darn good (has a college offer to prove it).  If their DB's are strong and physical, maybe they'll try bump-n-run to throw off our timing & routes. On the flipside, SC must play their best defense for 4 quarters.  We need some turnovers.

The more I think about Montana in a DB role, the less I can see it happening ...unless SC currently has all D1 receivers.  He got smoked all night long, BUT he played both ways so I'm sure his legs were taxed.
