Its like a circus out there right now. All the scouts out there and most of these kids have never played with this type of atmosphere before. They are playing me ball and not team ball. Coach Carter will get it turned around. Just let the craziness settle down and they'll be ok.

I have come to the final conclusion that the UIL members are idiots. Why do they keep throwing Livingston in 22-5A and not Barbers Hill. Livingston would be better off with the district 21-5A as for as travel. Nine team districts should not be allowed to exist. Some teams may loose their bye weeks because of this stupidity because now all schedules need to be redone. I know there is no precise way to make these districts but we need some people with some brains up there to try to keep the closest teams in the same district.

Beaumont Central 82 Port Neches-Groves 49/Final
Coach85 replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Boys Basketball
If this game was anything like the freshman game the officiating was horrible. Went to a basketball game that turned into a Rugby match only Central could get away with murder and if PNG just touched a guy they called a foul. Central didn't need to dribble. All they had to do was get the ball across half court and run it to the basket from there. The worst and most one side officiating I have ever seen and that includes little dribblers. -
Uh oh. Look out for BH. New coach and indoor facility. They are going to start kicking everybody's tail now. They are going to be right there with those Dallas/Fortworth area teams........I'm just joking around messing with all those guys that believe facilities make the difference in how a team performs.

If PNG's hitting comes through with the pitching staff they have they should be district champs. They have three legit pitchers in Leckiech, Henry, and Vidrine. They have two others coming up in McGowan an Hranicky and A. Morse can pitch very well also. Their defense should be pretty stout regardless of who is pitching. Bost is the purest hitter I have seen in this area in a long time even as a Sophmore. If the rest can follow, provide no injuries, they should be District Champs.

We got Elliot!!!!!!

Just got McCulloch!!!!!

Of the two I would rather RGIII. Think he just needs a new start somewhere else.

SETXsports REALIGNMENT SPECIAL/MONDAY AT 8:45 AM!
Coach85 replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Football
Once again Barbers Hill avoids 22-5A. Why do teams from 22-5A have to keep leap frogging BH to play teams further away? Does not make any sense. Other then that the district looks good. -
Beaumont Central 70 Port Neches-Groves 47/Final

Supposedly he got in trouble for something and didn't travel with the team today. -
This guy could bring a breath of fresh air to the program but I thought Rick was the coach in waiting. What happened with that. The players love him. Maybe this new guy Davis is gonna be good but I think it was an injustice to Rick and Hatt that neither were promoted. Especially Rick since he's been waiting for years for this job to come open to take control.

We used to do stick wrestling. Any thing goes to get the stick away from the other guy. Guarantee that would be grounds for a lawsuit now days. Most kids these days would not have been able to make a week in the offseason we went through. Much less their parents whining because it's to rough little Johnny may get hurt. Even our practices during the season were tougher then most off seasons these days.

PNG is playing well. They will run the gauntlet the next 3 games though starting with Nederland then Ozen then Central. They have a good a shot at taking that 4th place spot if they play like they have been playing though. -
Old Coach Class 5A Realignment Projection
Coach85 replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
It would be great if it wound up being the schools on the projection sheet. That would be the most sensible way to do it. But what I am saying is UIL always seems to think they have to throw one more team in our district and it is always someone farther away then BH. Barbers Hill makes the most sense if they think they need to make 22-5A an 8 team district but they refuse to put them in. -
Old Coach Class 5A Realignment Projection
Coach85 replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
I want to know what the deal is why they don't put Barbers Hill in 22-5A. It's the next closest school as for as travel. They keep putting teams from farther away that we have to leap frog Barbers Hill to get to. It just doesn't make sense. But then again when has the UIL made sense. Is Barbers Hill scared to come to 22-5A and they have enough money to pay not to be put in our district? Maybe they're not but they managed to stay out the last several realignments and that's the only reason I can see that makes sense to me. -
This is from a more reliable source about Faircloth. He didn't get the Southlake Carroll OC job but is in the top 3 for the Lovejoy HC job. Was told they are supposed to announce it on the 20th. But with all the rumors flying around at this point I am not sure what to believe.
-
Haven't heard a name. Just that Faircloth didn't.

Was told Faircloth didn't get it. Just what I heard.

PNG freshman won 47-46. -
It doesn't matter if you've been there and had some bad experiences. The problem is he has discipline issues and that starts at home. There are tens of thousands of kids in the same situation, away from home and have to make new friends, that don't get in the trouble he has got into. It's called responsibility and maturity. It starts in the home. I'm not saying that kids his age in his situation won't do stupid things but most learn from the first time and don't keep putting themselves in the wrong situation. I'm sorry but I don't have sympathy for some one, kid or adult, who keeps putting themselves in situations that they know are wrong and doesn't try to avoid them.

Like I said on another thread, Todd Dodge would be a good hire for OC. He knows how to develope QB's, knows the Texas high school football scene, and is well respected in Texas high football coaching circles.
-
I'm not real sure where you saw it was originally scheduled for Tuesday night because the original schedule we got and the one on PNGISD.ORG all say the 23rd with freshman starting at 10:00. My son plays on the freshman team and as of right now nothing has changed as far as we know. They usually send a group message if something changes.
-
Freshman start at 10:00.

UT needs a new OC that can bring in some top talent at the QB spot. I believe Todd Dodge would be a very good candidate. He knows the Texas high school scene and is very well respected in the high school coaching ranks. I know his stint at North Texas wasn't very good but Nick Saban couldn't win there in my opinion. Between Dodge and Traylor they could pull some of those 5* recruits in that they aren't getting just due to the respect they both have with other high school coaches. Plus he can develope QBs.
