  1. I truly believe if we had this coaching staff through the RJ years. We would have been to STATE those years.
  2. Kyle Field is about the midway point for both teams. But I guess A&M didn’t allow them to play there because they didn’t want to be shown up by two high school teams that would show them how real football is played.
  3. Could he be going to the collegiate level maybe as a coordinator or maybe head coach?..........Could he be coming to Lamar? LOL!!!!
  4. I don’t have any stroke buddy. I just happen to be at the right place at the right time when the announcement was made. Since this is the first time since 1999 to make it to the 4th round I expect it to be packed. Especially with who we are playing.
  5. I really feel bad for them. When we have played them in the past, even in the playoffs, they were lucky to have 200-300 people in the stands. That’s band included. It’s sad some parents and family won’t go see their kids or family preform. The playoffs may bring in a little more but not much.
  6. The manager of the stadium said if we sell out our side, we are home, that they would open up the visitors side to PNG because FBM doesn’t travel well.
  7. School is out for Thanksgiving. PNG can practice whatever time they need to so I don't think it's been a problem since they have turf.
  8. I understand there is not enough talent around here to win with. But there is talent here that are going other places that are not recruited by Lamar. I'm not talking about the top tier 5* or 4* athletes but there are some very good 3* athletes that are going off to McNesse, SFA, Sam Houston, Mary Hardin Baylor, ULL and other schools the same level as Lamar that they could keep home. Yes, I unerstand they need to recruit other places as well but if you keep local talent from going away then that puts fans in the seats because family and friends will come to see them play. Which means increased attendance which in turn brings in more money for the school.
  9. They have the money to still pay the coordinators as well as other coaches. They just chose not to give anymore money to the athletic department then they already do. Look at Vincent Beck. That place is in dire need of a major upgrade. They need a new locker room with a coaches office in the actual building itself. The bathrooms are definitely need upgrading. If they only realized that if you have successful programs that the money will come back because people around here will go and support them. Nobody wants to go pay money to watch your hometown team get their arse kicked day in and day out.
  10. If Lamar wants to hire a good coach they will have to open up their pocketbook and upgrade the salary to somewhere in the $350,000 to $400,00 or more in my opinion. I know that's not going to bring in the top coaches but it will peak the interest of some young up and coming guru who has been successful as a coordinator in DII or other divisions. With what they pay now is why they can't bring anybody other than these guys that say they have coached before but Junior League shouldn't count. The guys they bring in don't know anything about this area and don't recruit it. They need to bring in somebody that knows the area and gives the athletes around here an incentive to stay home. There's not much to do in this area but if you put a winning team on the field, a lot of area talent would probably stay home. Barbay probably doesn't want it because he is probably making more as an assistant where he is. I don't think Briles would even sniff at it. I've heard someone mention Dodge but that's not going to happen either. He's happy and will not stoop down to the level Lamar is at right now. He did that once before at North Texas and that didn't end well. I think he would elevate the program but it won't happen. Hopefully this new AD will convince administration to fork out more money and bring in somebody that can bring this program to new levels and bring community interest back to Lamar sports.
  11. If I were Forney I would have left today to travel down here so the boys can sleep in a little on Friday and feed them a good breakfast and lunch. They aren’t going to be able to go to school on Friday. Four hours is a quite a haul for a two and a half hour game. I know it will probably be charter buses but that is still a long time.
  12. Ewers looked liked he smoked a doobie before the game because everything about him was high today.
  13. If you go to the PNGISD website you can see who all the coaches for varsity football are and the position they coach.
  14. He probably not only has NIL deals in the making but Alabama, Texas, A&M, LSU and the other Power 5 schools have already promised a full ride, his own dorm room and what ever type of vehicle he wants. And he is just the #2 rank in that age group. Can you imagine what they have for the #1 ranked kid that age.
  15. EXACTLY!!!!!……..but there was a little more behind the Fairclothe stuff.
  16. I’m glad I’m through with this stuff. When my son played there were three teams. They had a purple, a white, and a gray team. We had a draft and all the kids were available for a three teams to draft. If you had the crappie team then you just sucked at drafting. This 💩 of making an A and B team and splitting it where the good kids go to the A team and the others go to the B team is strictly for the Dads. I know they do it in school but that is different. The problem at the STJFL level is you are supposed to coach these kids and teach them what the game is about. These coaches now days are all about making themselves look good and don’t want to teach. This could come back and bite them in the arse. Through all my years I have seen kids that may not have been as good as the others but come high school some of them are beating the other “studs” in junior league out because those “studs” hit their peak already. These other kids are hitting their peak at the right time. I’ve seen it happen for years and when those “studs” aren’t playing in high school. Those are the parents that you hear all the bi___ing and moaning from.
  17. I’m just waiting to see who follows. There were a lot of highly ranked recruits waiting to see where he was going to commit. Will the dominoes start falling? Guess we will see.
  18. I agree. Hooks and Thompson had full control and administration and the board ha no control over them. They had their way and that was it. Now they have someone that they have full control over and the rules ways of doing certain things are about to change. The kids and certain parents are going to whine about some things need to be changed and they will be changed to cave in to the cry babies and it will all snowball. The days of the way things were run under DH and CT are gone and that will be the end to what was a great program.
  19. I hope he can convince Lamar to give him a bigger athletic budget to be able to turn the programs around. It’s been operating on a very small budget compared to other schools their size that are competitive. Plus most of the other schools have more things for students to do around town then Lamar has to offer. What does Beaumont and the surrounding area have for the students to do for fun? Go swimming in the Neches River?
  20. Roccaforte is from PNG. Christian Curtis is a Freshman pitcher from PNG that is at Texas A&M but had to have surgery to correct a previous surgery so he started the year but didn’t get to finish it.
  21. I passed by LCM yesterday and it looked like they were working on it.
