I know a perfect person for this job but I don’t know if she would apply for it so I’m no going to mention her name. But, she is a former player at Lamar, she coaches at a prominent high school and has been to the state finals twice in her three year stint and has won one title.

PETA may complain about these names being offensive to nature.

Not everybody is reporting their teams HR’s like they used to. I know PNG has some but not sure who the kids are. I don’t know the kids of this group all that great and I sit in the outfield so I don’t have to listen to the people in the stands grip about things they have no clue about. I’ve noticed other teams have not reported any either.

I have a cousin who is married to the twin brother of NCTC’s head coach. They said Wetherford’s pitchers were talking smack to the coach. Saying stuff like, “is this all you got? Send someone up to the plate who can hit the damn ball.” This was said after two batters had struck out. There was more stuff said too. But when the guy hit the go ahead home run he did mouth off to the pitcher. I probably would have too if the pitchers were trash talking my team. The thing that gets me is the third base coach doesn’t even move or warn the poor kid rounding third. He slaps his hand, sees the pitcher headed that way and does nothing.

Coach Carter is a great baseball coach as well as a great man. My son enjoyed playing for Carter and learned a lot about not only baseball but life. He is a great mentor for these young men at PNG.

Agree 100%. The Beaumont/Port Arthur area has declined drastically and there is nothing for college age students to do. Lamar itself doesn’t put hardly any emphasis on its athletic programs like they use to when they brought in good coaches, instead of retread’s or first time head coaches with very little experience, and had good teams that people would actually go to watch.

They aren’t successful because the Subpar AD keeps hiring his Subpar buddies who shouldn’t be head coaches as BU’s head coach. He does this because they don’t want a new proven head coach to come in and clean house and bring in a new coaching staff. Because the existing coaches all have ties to him or administration some how. Beaumont needs to clean house upstairs and bring in new administration and get the academics up to par first then forget the buddy buddy crap and bring in a proven coach that knows how to discipline and turn programs like this around. Bring back the desire in these kids to want to play football and enjoy playing football. Make them want to be as dominating as their basketball team. They have the talent there. They just need the right people to get it out of them.

I have been looking at the scores from a lot of the games and there some crazy high scores. Is it because of lack of pitching or just that much of a talent gap between teams now days?

I hate to say it but the mustang program as we know it will no longer be. The foundation has been broken and now it will start crumbling.

I told y’all this was going to happen. If you even want to stand a chance of getting a good coach then you need to get rid of the AD. He’s all about the buddy system and doesn’t care what the community thinks.

Who is the AD’s best friends cousins best friend. That will be who United’s next coach will be.

I was just saying that to my wife last night. Everybody was bad mouthing PNG when it was the first in the area to get it. Saying it’s a bunch of spoiled rich kids and all kinds of other trash talk. Now those same people are praising their schools for getting it…..My how hypocritical some people are. Jealousy goes to praise when you are getting what YOU want.

What is up with PAM basketball? They should be a power house year in and year out. They are struggling against teams they should be blowing out. They should be in the same conversation with BU. Is it coaching or is talent just leaving and going to better academic schools?

I agree with you. He has made a name for himself and will be a hot commodity for years to come. But, if the wife doesn’t want to be far from her parents, he is staying right where he is at. LCM is a good school and a good community so that makes up for a little bit money wise.

I’d want to get out of BISD too. Not a very well ran school district and not up to standards on paying coaches for that classification of school. I would have done the same thing if it was closer to home and better pay to be at one of the bigger schools in a lower classification.

I believe PNG has a couple of names in mind already. As I have said before, if you don’t know the whole story then you don’t need to be making comments on who should be blamed. When or if the truth comes out those who did may be eating crow. If those in the know want you to know then they will tell you.

Zeke did what he had to do to get his money. Now that he’s got it. He is just going through the motions. I agree, trade Zeke while you can still get maybe a top CB opposite Diggs or a couple of high draft picks. I like Pollard and think he can be the lead back and pick up a quality back to spell him with one of the high draft picks you get for trading Zeke.

It takes a special type of coach for this job. Someone who knows how the program operates and can keep the traditions alive. It has to be someone who has been involved with the program that won’t come in and try to change the system that has worked for many many of years. I would like to see this program keep doing what it has been doing and keep everything the same because it works and it works very well.
