1.
how many returning starters does SC have?
12 or 13 total depending on the source. 8 on offense, and 4 or 5 on defense.
 2. Look, if anything "Unclassy" happened at SC it all happened last year. For those of us who have an SC diploma graduated with class. Plenty of the fans and parents have displayed some arrogance of course, but it could be worse. With that said, we've had a couple of pretty good years in football and are improving in everything else. It's only natural we would be excited for the future.

Usually you reserve a self-proclaimed title like that for teams like Goergetown or Denton you know the teams who beat all. Im not sold on SC next season because they have huge questions on the D.
You sound like SC barely slipped into the play-offs.  Last year's team dominated all season. No other team in the region was stopping them other than GT. Who knows, if SC faced GT during the same round as Nederland, we may have built up to beat GT.  The reality is, no other team that made it past the 2nd round would have beat GT in any round. It was the luck of the draw.
No offense but I've been waiting for you to say it like it actually is. Probably the most accurate assessment you've made thus far IMO
I'd like to hear your thoughts on this. Do you think the competition at the top (or even in the second round as you frequently jest) is too fierce for most teams in 4a to even be competitive against?
Hey, go hard or go home  ;) I'm not saying they would win, but as a week 0 game it would keep them hungry in the preseason. Eisenhower wouldn't be that much more favorable a matchup either.

They have the nerve to rank D.Chatman in front Chris Warren who I think is the second best 2015 back in the state. They also have him ranked in front of the kid I think is the best 2015 qb in the region in J.W. Ketchum of FB Marshall. Keener has produced more also and Chatman is ranked twice as high. [Hidden Content]
I think those rankings are mostly based on combine performance. There are a couple others on the list that haven't seen much time as a varsity player yet but are expected to do very well.
Crosby will be serious competition for SC this year, I think they will be around 40% likely to defeat SC. I'm not saying that out of a lack of confidence in my dawgs, I just think Crosby has too many offensive weapons for just about any defense to contain.
 9. I have a feeling we will be hearing his name in the future. That guy is too tough to not make an impact for some squad.
I think he went to Utah because they had less competition than the other BCS schools. Only issue with that is Utah signed a kid named Brandon Cox this February that enrolled early and went through Spring ball. He was hurt for the Spring game(slight build like Sharp) but the Utah people say they expect him to take over the starting job from soph. Travis Wilson which means Sharp has a kid who's literally a mirror image of himself that he'll be in competition with for three and possibly all four years he's at Utah. Cox was a 3 year starter at what we would consider 5a in California and was the 17th rated dual-threat in the country by rivals just like Sharp is. What's even more eerie is that they're both southpaw and about 6-2.5 and 185 lbs. Sharp is a more polished passer from what I see on the film but Cox has a better stroke even though he loads up a little which I think can be fixed with strength training. He's also a better and more willing runner. I think Aaron could still possibly beat him out in a couple of years but if Cox doesn't redshirt and plays well it could be very tough to get on the field. It might have been easier to beat out Cunningham who doesn't even have a varsity start yet. Good luck to him though, maybe he'll be the next Brian Johnson. Cox - [Hidden Content] Sharp - [Hidden Content]
I don't think that's the reason Sharp went to Utah....I believe he committed because he had a good relationship with the coaches. I also heard he De- Committed over night and Committed to K state. Not for sure though. I'm hearing the mother never agreed with the Utah commit
Hope this doesn't turn into a soap opera. It's a free ride, either way it goes he's gonna be out-of-state on a football field receiving a free education. If in fact that's true about her I hope she gets over herself for the sake of him.
I was under the impression that his mother liked utah a lot, I thought that played a part in his commitment. Maybe the family wanted to discuss it with him one last time before he officially made his decision, idk. He has plenty of time between the end of the season and NSD for changing his mind, so not really that big of a deal.
To be honest Dayton is our biggest game on the schedule every year, we just happen to lose it a lot. If we beat Dayton this year SC will game will by far be the biggest game on the schedule though. I think we're going to be the only team in the district that can score with y'all unless you can't stop BH with Denny.
You'd be fools to make Dayton your biggest game regardless of the history.  Why sweat a team THAT YOU CAN BEAT?  Should have whooped them last year too.  Crosby just needs to EXECUTE.  Find just ONE receiver that can catch a ball and you'll be dangerous.  Between the Walter's and just ONE more guy, you can have what you need in the skill area to handle most of the district ...til SC comes knocking.
Raelon Singleton may be that one receiver. That's why I think they will be a darkhorse in d2.

Jeffrey was one of the top sophs. in the state and he did it on the field, not during a cone drill. He did it with everybody in the entire stadium knowing he was getting it too. I thought SC was supposed to have all these good receivers in the pipeline, why is a kid that played rb on a 3 win team getting a starting spot at receiver where he's obviously having issues adjusting? Chatman says he could get 1000 yards on 10-15 carries which tells me he plans on averaging 9 ypc. I know there's smaller backs that do that but big backs such as Keevon Aldridge y'all had last year have a hard time getting going when the o-line doesn't create movement which SC's rarely does due to them practicing pass plays/ pass blocking all the time.
Aldridge had about 8 ypc last year even as a "Big Back". 17. Ya know, all I've read on this site lately is about how SC has yet to get past the first round and PAM getting beat by Manvel. I must have read each at least a dozen times. Now, since new caney is the focus of this thread, let's get back to talking about that. Anyway, I think NC picking up a coach that can lead a winning program, they have some hope to make something happen in the near future. If they can get some guys to step up they can field a respectable team in any classification.
 18. Just for the record I think Chatman actually did score a TD last season, but it was against a second team defense when we were up a few scores in the 4th quarter. Anyway, those 3 touches he had in the spring game was enough to get me excited for the fall. His ability to quickly find the gap and hit it was excellent.

And what makes you think SC's scores will decline?
So transferring from Humble High to Summer Creek going to help Summer Creeks test scores? Only transfers the problem.
I don't see how a few transfers could affect test scores so significantly that it would lower SC's academic rating. It's not like they are affecting the performance of the students around them. When I was a student at SC the only transfers from humble I knew transferred because they were discontent with the teachers/administration over at humble. Same thing with the ones that transferred from AHS (myself included). This may have only been the case for my graduating class and things may have changed, I don't know, but I doubt things have gone downhill at SC in one year and I've also heard the staff at humble has gotten better.

Dayton couldn't play in their stadium last year.  How do they expect to deal with the 12th man of Bulldog fans?  If you're looking for stats, let me know the last team Dayton lost to (in the reg season) two years in a row.
IMO SC and Crosby are the 2 contenders for the DC in 2013, and KP, BH, and Dayton will fight for the remaining 2 spots. I just see district 19-4a being less kind then it was in 2012. Dayton will have good players but their best players will be younger than the other 4 good teams.
