hey, we acknowledged that loss and gave credit to SC. we didn't whine about enrollment numbers like you did with G-town which by the UIL's COUNT ACTUALLY WAS A BIT SMALLER SCHOOL.
There is a distinct advantage schools have during their 1st year dropping down.  We saw it with Humble as well.  The real G-Town will stand up this year.  SC was ROBBED of our birth rite.  The UiL added to the pain by setting us up against G-Town in round 2.  That game should have been to determine who went to state.  Neverland and Angleton had no business playing after week 2.  SC would have stomped either squad.
Whatever you say, besides, SC would have got crushed by Guyer in the state championship.
Wouldnt have even been close IMO.
Well no one will ever know, but I wonder about that occasionally. I think Heard would have found it a bit more challenging trying to run circles around SC's defense, just taking sideline to sideline speed into account. However, that Guyer offense could block like none I've seen in high school so maybe he could have run between the takles successfully. Aside from team speed Gtown had the best D in 4a IMO, which leads me to believe SC would have done better on offense against Guyer comparable to Gtown. Who knows, could have been closer than you think if it had happened.

Our defense will be IMPROVED this year.  Have some really strong players returning and some joining varsity.  Biggest concern is the DB's.  Lost two seniors, but have some good players in the pipeline.  Our linebacking corp will really surprise this region. Offense ...the Greatest Show on Turf continues.  Biggest concerns are at RB.  I still believe our returning guy was a better receiver.  We also lost a big play receiver in Greg Hogan  ...and 3 year starter DeQuann "Birdman" Ruffin.  We still have all sorts of depth at wideout.  Most notably Torrey Johnson.  He's a big play guy with incredible hands.  I've seen him snag some one handed catches. The district is locked up.  Barbers Hill game will be interesting.  I'm expecting SC to put some big numbers up to make sure BH has no more bragging about playing us the closest last year.
I thought we graduated 3 starters at DB, the corners Goree and Jenkins, and safety Michael Stewart. We return Francis, and we had a lot of young guys like Julius Perkins and Tremaine Wilson as backups. Is it true that they moved Gary Graves to safety? I also thought Braden was good at WR, do you think it would benefit the team more to have Jeffery at RB?
You are correct.  I missed Michael Stewart.  Not sure about Graves, but its possible.  I could see them moving Francis to corner to help with depth.  Tre' Wilson has moved to linebacker.  I saw him recently.  He's really put on muscle.  He's always been a vicious hitter...that's a big contributing factor to his getting moved up to Varsity as a sophmore. The RB situation is tricky.  I believe the coaches trust Jordan to protect the ball.  He also has great speed and can make moves.  I'd be worried to see a new guy carry the load at RB.  We really need a solid running game to keep us from being too predicatable.  Coach Ford is pass crazy and that can lead to losses in big games ...as we saw from that 5A team that got whooped in State.
I think they should at least give Jeffery a shot at RB, he has proven that he can be really dangerous out of the backfield in the spread, with a less than stellar King O-line I might add. 800+ yards rushing with a few catches for over 100 yards, 1st team all district is a pretty good resume.
 3.
Foreman @ Central. he already has the athletes to be successful as long as they buy into his program.
I agree I say Foreman as well. I think DuBois at HJ will also do well.

 5. Unfortunately Texas has recently obtained the mentality that they can't develop talent and they have to get someone who they think is ready for the next level coming out of hs. Or maybe that's just media spin, I can't really tell. They have had some bad luck recently with recruiting classes just not panning out, such as the notorious class of 2009. But to get back on topic, I think Sharp should go where they give him a legit shot at Qb, and I have a feeling that Baylor as well as a few Pac-12 schools would.
 6. Its hard to argue LT as an all time dominant program, from 1983-2003 their record was 79-132-1. There is an argument for Celina, 68 consecutive wins and 8 state titles is hard to beat.

I guess they thought he'd make a good safety, lol.
Lol, I heard that too. I think they want him as a WR,
Its kind of a shame, call me crazy but I think Sharp would beat out Heard and Swoopes for the starting Qb position for the horns.
Beat out J. Heard? Yeah, you're crazy.  ;)  J. Heard (if Ash has a hell of a year and leaves early) will be the starter in 2014 IMO. I think he's a better dynamic at QB right now than Swoopes and Ash from UT.
I thought you might be skeptical, honestly it might just be rose colored glasses on my part. This coming from a dedicated Texas fan, Ash will start through 2014 because it is highly unlikely he would leave to the nfl after his junior year even if he put up impressive stats. Ash doesnt have the skill set that most nfl teams look at and even if he is really good I doubt he gets better than a 3rd round grade even after his senior year. Both Sharp and Heard look about the same physically, about the same weight with the former about a half inch to an inch taller and have slender frames that they would both fill out. On the athleticism side, Heard is in the high 4.4's in the forty and Sharp is in the low 4.5's, though Heard is a more polished ball carrier. Where I think Sharp wins is his composure and patience in waiting for his receivers to get open down field, where Heard looks like he gives up on the play really quickly and takes off for the first down (Admittedly, he is really good at that, so I don't criticize that too much). Also, Heard benefited quite a bit in 2011 and 2012 from excellent blocking, which Sharp really hasn't had quite the same luxury, so I think Sharp has more experience in making something out of a broken play and with his arm more often than his legs. Additionally, Sharp's passes are noticeably more accurate than Heard's from what I've seen of both of them. Look at it this way, in 2015, both Heard and Sharp are going into their RS freshman year and both go into spring practice on relatively equal standing, with Swoopes being the front runner after being Ash's backup the year before. There is a strong chance that Swoopes won't improve his arm enough by then, making Heard/Sharp a more attractive option after showing what they can do in the spring scrimmage. The coaching staff will probably call it a close race between the two for the start, but ultimately Sharp will prove that he is a better fit to run Applewhite's offense. Again, I could be extremely biased here and just really want to see Sharp in burnt orange. Both those guys have really high potential, but I think if Sharp ties up the loose ends he will be untouchable.
I could see that only if UT has a HC not named Mack Brown.  ;) (you know what im getting at lol)
Haha, even if they go 3-9 next year I bet Mack is still HC the year after.
If he has a bad year without having key injuries he will be fired, which means more recruits for A&M, Baylor and Tech IMO.
I honestly doubt that Mack will ever be fired, the year he isnt coach at Texas will be the year he retires. I think Applewhite takes over the program then.

Summer Creek was very blessed to open at the time it did, it was a perfect storm for them to create a very formable team.
well they all graduate this next year. So i guess we will see what kind of team they continue to field. Just a side not we are talking about a team that has won one playoff game and if this year doesnt pan out it might be a while before they are considered a deep playoff threat. I also think humble will have a good shot at the playoffs. They had some kids last year that looked good but the team just seemed unorganized. Maybe with this coach having a year under his belt things will change.
Humble has some talent that is for sure, but the team last year was a mess largely because it was almost an entirely new staff  that came in late may with no time to install their system. I have attended several of Humble's practices, and they have a lot more size this year.  They will compete, but until i see them finish an entire game...i will reserve judgement on the possibility of them landing a 4th seed.  They definitely have the horses, it just has to all come together first.  Both lines have improved tremendously, and the defense last year was actually pretty good.    If the offense can manage to sustain drives, then they have a shot at the playoffs.  I still maintain they are a year away from competing for a district title again.
I agree, I think humble will be back to being really good in 2014, they had a heck of a sophomore class last season.
 16. That's correct, the luxury apartments or what ever will be zoned to Sheldon isd, but they expect the residents in the general humble area (including Kingwood) to increase over the next couple decades, mainly in the higher income residents. In their video they didn't even mention Sheldon isd, which I thought was kind of odd considering how close it is. They talked up humble isd quite a bit.

 18. I think it all depends on the athletes preferences. If he/she only enjoys playing one sport then playing other sports isn't going to be as helpful to them as it would to an athlete that enjoys playing many sports. Generally if an athlete isn't passionate about a particular sport they become less and less competitive in it as time goes on. I know of a few cases where that can even effect the athlete's competitive drive in the sports they actually enjoy. It's called burn out.
 19. Well you have to first define "Competitive". Is a district competitive when it has a lot of strong teams or when most teams are close in strength? The first scenario best defines 19-4a and the second best defines 20-4a. However when you look at it from the perspective of a consistently strong team like Ned, 20-4a looks less competitive. However, if you look at dayton in 19-4a, which likewise is consistently strong, the situation is ironically competitive from their perspective. This is because they have a few teams frequently in their district (BH, crosby) that are close to their level of ability. In conclusion, I find dayton's playoff streak very impressive. Although 20-4a usually has a pretty solid PNG squad and these past 2 years an inspiring Vidor team, I would argue that Ned does not have to struggle as much as the better teams in 19-4a do to make the playoffs.

It is not known yet if they will be zoned to Humble ISD. If they are zoned to HISD, the planned 6th new high school in HISD will be built sooner than later. The 4,000-acre wooded site off the northeastern elbow of Beltway 8, has sold the first major tract in Generation Park to FMC Technologies, makers of subsea, wellhead and other equipment for the oil and gas industry. FMC Technologies purchased 173 acres on the west side of Beltway 8 and is assessing its plans for the site.
Yep, heard about Generation Park this past football season. I thought it was already a done deal it would be zoned to Humble ISD  ???
I read on the website that the area will be in Sheldon isd. But I can imagine the amount of residents in Summerwood will substantially increase due to being so close.

(reminders of Aaron Sharps high school career)
watched the freshmen team play. Kids must not have suited up dayton beat them by like 50.
Ouch lol.
oopsie  ;D
PN-G freshman got a piece of them to..41-12 oopsie again  8)
;)
They are in middle school right now. One is at Woodcreek middle school. They will be freshmen in the fall. I should have said "would/will be on the freshmen team."
So the talent pool is so broad and deep there at SC that they "may be" suiting up freshmen for the Varsity team???  Hmmm.... Interesting.
I doubt that. If Ford bring up a Freshman to Varsity, it's only because the kid is very good, or because he has potential to be a starter after next year.....
They would have to have some serious talent to make varsity as freshmen this upcoming year with all the seniority present.
Before the naysayers get too far, remember Aaron Sharp played Quarterback as a freshmen at Summer Creek, and put up very impressive numbers that year. It is not unheard of of freshmen players in Humble being good enough to play varsity.
To be fair we didn't have seniors that year and only one player had any varsity experience going into the 2010 season. Sharp was impressive as a freshman but I don't think he would have been on varsity as a freshman had SC been around for a couple years. Same goes with the other three that played as freshmen in 2010.

Just a thought.
This is off of Baylor's website: Currently, the Department of Engineering offers three baccalaureate engineering degrees, four master engineering degrees, and nine joint degree programs. So, what's the other reasons?
Lol  ;D
Sorry, let me rephrase that, lol. Baylor has an "Engineering Department" where students can get a degree in engineering, however it's not the same kind of program that schools like UH, A&M, UT, and Tech have.
