1.
Any updates?  My question is ...could a minority coach be the change that Liberty needs?
What does the ethnicity of the new coach matter in a situation like this?
 2. Unless the Central players are planning on playing QB for Texas or NFL Europe, then Brown offers no creditibility.  He has no "skins on the wall" regarding 4A high school football.
 3. Really?  I am surprised by that.  JUCO is no slouch, but I figured he'd end up at a FCS school somewhere straight out of high school.  I thought he moved to Louisiana for the exposure that would come.  Anyhow, good luck Daniel.  I'll be keeping up with your progress.

Can't wait for HJ's group of NO-Talent football players to make the playoffs this year....
Not going to happen :D
We need an emoticon of a chicken with ruffled feathers.  I'd post it right here!!!.... ;)
 5.
Justin Twine very well could play in the class A state title game next year.
Is he moving?
 6. Good lord we are all dying for games or practice or something.  This is the only way to pass the time!  8)
 7.
Anyone that says HJ doesn't have any talent on the football field shouldn't be able to comment on this thread because they obviously don't know anything about the HJ football players.
hmmm, I wonder who she is married to?
 8.
With all the talk about beating silsbee and wos, try to objectively look at it this way: how many players at hj would start for silsbee or wos? How many at wos or silsbee would start at hj?
None/All
 9.

Buddy, (can I call you Buddy) when someone calls the parents of the football players pathetic, and that we have no talent to compete, and is pompous enough to state his opinion as FACT.  That is bashing his community.  We do have the talent to compete.  I get tired of people who know nothing of our program stating we don't.  I understand why they do it though.  When you get your rear handed to you in almost every game it is easy to make that assumption.  When you see the hard work, extra work these kids put in for football only to be mis-coached it is heart breaking.  THAT IS A FACT!  If the football coaches would talk to you, you would see the frustration they had. Then you have someone (Lazeek) who knows absolutely nothing about football to start stating his opinion as fact is laughable.  All the inside scoop he is referring to are not football coaches.  Football parents are very passionate about the sport.  Farmer Fran does not bug me.  He is a pot stirrer, but he is passionate about football and you have to respect that.  If I wanted to know what club to use on the 9th hole at Idylwild with a 6mph crosswind, Lazeek would be the first one I would ask. When it comes to football questions, his name would not even be on my list.
I could help you out there for sure!!!! As far as the football thing goes it is pretty obvious.  HJ has good athletes at the skill positions.  Where they struggle is on the offensive and defensive line.  I have seen enough games over the past 3-4 years to know that.
really lazeek! so what your saying is that every class from 2010 to present has not a D-line or O-line that was good? because if i recall back in 2010 the D-line an O-line did a great job...especially the D-line! they did a killer job at messing up plays for the other teams...because of the them H-J held WOS to 21-14 game and held silsbee to a score less first half till they started get switched out for some reason............beside that fact H-J does have the talent to compete, but instead we have people like you saying that we will never compete with WOS or Silsbee that gets the kis of the football program down on them selves and not even wanna try. maybe instead of telling them hey might as well give up because youll never be good enough. you should try this new thing out im not sure if you have heard of it but its called be supportive! its were you tell the kids hey i dont care who we are playing or how bada## everyone makes them out to be they can be beat by you if you dont back down and never give up you can take out any opponent! an thats whats calle being supportive or motivation! you shoul try sometime when you dont have basketball on your mind.  o and btw if you say "here is another intelligent first post" i want be as nice the next post :)
With posts like this becoming more and more prevalent on this thread, it seems that you HJ guys need to quit worrying so much about people being supportive of the football program and focus that energy on getting people to be supportive of the english program at HJHS.  8) It's a shame that a guy like Lazeek, who has been nothing but supportive of all HJ athletics, is getting this kind of junk from you guys.  If that is how HJ treats their supporters, then there is no wonder why HJ doesn't have any left.
 10. Hopefully when HJ hires a coach, he tells his players to stop posting in message boards. Makes them look foolish. Players play, us old guys worry about message board fodder. Seems ol' Bedelmon has riled up the troops to get after my guy Farmer Fran. He even created a few extra screen names and got the wives and kids involved. HJ is and always be a basketball school. There's no shame in that, just know who you are.
He didn't.
I didn't think so.  That job probably isn't a good fit for him.
 12.
I bet they dk but cant gst enough talent on the field.
The HJ folks say there is plenty of talent just bad coaching.  What say you badsanta?
 13. I don't know.  There is some promise at kountze, athlete wise.  They have too much turmoil for me to believe in them right now.  When the adults get their stuff together, the kids might have the opportunity to shine.  Same problem theyre having at HJ right now.
 14. Wait, I didn't see where Toby applied for the Central job.  Did I overlook that?
 15. Thats great news! Nothing like seeing a kid get the opportunity to get a great college education on the back of his football success!  Way to go Glen!
 16. Oh boy, here we go.  So you are an expert on Deweyville, Huffman, and Liberty, while also seeing every game Groveton has played in the last few years.  Dang buddy, I'm surprised this site hasn't hired you yet!  Your assessment of Liberty's "success" is evidence of your lack of knowledge.  Oh, and before you fire it back at me, I am well aware of HD's lack of success in the first round of the playoffs, painfully aware.

Guess that was when Griffin played their. Has to be tough being sandwiched in between Hull-Daisetta and Dayton. Football towns.
Not sure what that has to do, with Liberty not having a successful football program. Liberty needs to hand the football reins to whomever gets the job. And maybe they can get somewhere...
My point is Liberty folks may be tired of not winning. Having to see Dayton and HD win for years. Liberty has really never been considered a big football town.
How? Libery has 24 playoff appearances, Dayton 27, HD 31. Liberty has been in the playoffs 15 times since 1990. HD has been in the playoffs 14 times since 1990. Dayton has been in the playoffs 16 times since 1990. I dont think Liberty has an inferiority complex with Dayton or HD. Especially HD who plays at a low level.
I've wondered for years why Liberty and HD don't play each other.  I know HD has tried to schedule them, Liberty always says no.  They have no problem scheduling creme puffs like Huntington, but dont want the Bobcats on the schedule...hmmmm.... 8)

And Yes I guess Craus is still the OC at Dayton
Yes.  From what I understand, born and raised.  I figure these interviews are just formalities.  The job is his if he wants it.  He has the credentials, and a real drive to return Liberty to it's proud past.  He cares about the community, his family is still there.  Those things alone should give him the job.  It also helps that he has lead that LP offense the past several years.  They need a guy who wants to put down roots, not just a passer by.
Proud past...
Well, they don't have any state titles like another school in Liberty county, but they were once proud of their program!  ;)
 19. If they bring the salary and allow him to upgrade facilities, I feel it is a lock.  Those are the two things he needs to be hammering in negotiations,.
 20.
IF Taylor takes the job, congrats to him and Liberty. Great coach. All foes get ready for some serious misdirection offense. Don't expect many passes. Expect a pound game with a seriously confused opponent D.
You are right.  There is an "if".  Taylor let it be known last year that he was not leaving LP for peanuts.  Him not being in Hardin came down to dollars. Liberty needs to pony up.

 22. They need to speed this thing up so the new coach can get a few months in the spring.  That helped last year at HD.
 23. Taylor is OC at LaPorte.  He was offered the Hardin job last spring, but turned it down.
 24. Looks like Dayton is keeping their OC
 25.
I think Foreman deserves a shot...but I wouldn't expect him to go anywhere that there isn't much speed...and somewhere that football is second to basketball.
There is no speed at Liberty, and he wants that job.
