I was at the game and I'm not saying that the football players are the one that making the team good but overall it will help them play at the next level. Only Shannon and Prentice from football played today. Mostly the straight basketball players you prefer are the ones that doing everything at the moment but u got to admit to that #4 was a football players and quit during mid season. He had 18 point team high and #32 there Soph big post player had 17 point. Don't make it sound like that I'm saying with the football players they are the next greatest team ever. I'm just saying once them boys get thier basketball leg they will be better in my opinion because I know all of them personally.

I know that a plus...it still early in the season...after a couple of tournament they should be back to where they were when they last played at state.

Congratulations Silsbee, so Shannon Robinson didnt play tonight Oh yeah he played tonight but didn't get much playing time due to coming out of football last week. A couple of post players didn't get to play tonight.

I can see O-Field is doing pretty good this year but they need to be playing some better team more competitive teams to get ready for district because a weak schedule will not help you in district.

Ditto that...how many point Bailey and Spike have?

Silsbee was missing a couple of players from football (don't know why). But overall they will be a good team. I can see them repeating for another chance at state this year. They look to be better than last year with the way they play maturely. They work well together as a team to, and there are no ball hoggers on this team. After they play Kountze in the Fred Williams Classic I will make a more bolder predition on how I see them being this year. Every players on the team are really equal to me. Kelly, even though this is the first game I seen them play, I believe they have a good ball club especially for private school. They will penetrate, block out, rebound, and play defense. They have some solid shooters on thier team too. Offensively they can shoot the rock and take it to the hoop. Future team of Kelly beware.

Give me detail of this game...tell me who was doing good and who wasn't.

O-Field will be legitmate contender this year. The third place battle will go to O-Field and WO-S

When the Fred Williams Classic start this weekend we will see a real good test between Silsbee and Kountze and know who's the real deal. HJ has their hand full with Central but I think they can match up to them. After Ktz and HJ play tomorrow we will see who's really the real deal between them too.

Must have been a good game...I have high hope for Sterling this year. They have a good group of seniors but they lack senior leadership to the young ones on the team. They will only make the playoff this year if they learn to work together.

I think the ND-HJ game woke HJ up. They will not take Kountze lightly. I see HJ winning this game tuesday by 10 and then friday Silsbee win by 19

WO-S will try to wear Nederland out. Then the next day they have to play Memorial. I highly doubt ND will beat Memorial

I can see them at least making the playoff. But hearing they had an amazing game plan have to be for every game not just one. All team has different style of play and Nederland has to make sure they can execute every team they play and have their game plan for that team ready before they step in the gym.

I really don't see WO-S winning this game. If Nederland plays like they did against HJ there's no way WO-S will win this game.

there is no player from ozen, if johnson were a beast he would have played last year...silsbee will be competitve again this year Come on, Master T, let's tone down the hyperbole. I believe I saw every basketball game that Jeremy played in last year and it was clear that he was a promising sophomore with natural talent and a lot of athleticism. Beastly - no. Jeremy Johnson is such an athlete that he will help your team whatever you are playing. But he chose not to continue playing last year. I did not hear why he made that decision and I didn't ask. But if he does play this year, he will be a promising junior with natural talent and a lot of athleticism (having waived a year of development where his team went to the state tournament). I hope Jeremy Johnson plays basketball this year with the Silsbee Tigers. But if he does he needs to understand that he won't be THE STAR and he may not even start. I don't like to call people out but I been knowing the basketball players for years. I know what type of talents these guys has and how they play the game. Silsbee whole squad is a beast. If you don't know the terrm of "BEAST", I suggest you look it up by asking one of the Silsbee Tiger basketball players. I'm not trying to make trouble but it just that you haven't known these boys like I do.

They won't be doing all district pick until all team in your district is out of the playoff

I have no idea yet. But I heard it too. he was a beast on the court last year, he would do wonder if he play this year. And you are right about how we have the height players. We had an transfer from Ozen a few weeks ago but I don't think he will be able to play for awhile that I know of because his credit arent good for SHS. Silsbee will be deep in every aspect of the game. They have the height, the speed, the defense, the guard, and most of all each other. Alot of their players will be a big factors on the team. I cannot see silsbee going any shorter than state this year.

I guess I tend to look at young basketball players in a different light because I get exposed to so many different types and at various ages and development stages. Kids scoring 40 points in the 8th grade means it s due to a few things: a. They are a grade exception and playing younger kids b. They are truly in the 1% and are exceptional and talented basketball players c. They are grade exceptions and playing less talented kids I saw this kid play against older kids in a game and he didn't show me much. Maybe he had a bad game that one time I saw him. SO he not going to be playing on varsity this year.

How about that freshman that I hear about all the time that scored almost 40 ppg as an 8th grader last year.
