  5. I respect W.O.S., and yes they have had Silsbee's number of late, BUT that will change this year IMO. Silsbee is LOADED, I got to see them "up close and personal"...it is scary how good they could be!!
  6. FYI: PNG had a small "altercation" with GCM near the end of their game  and elected/asked to leave and not finish the tournament.
  7. Huffman Falcons vs Dibol Lumberjacks Friday @ 7:00 pm @ New Caney (Huffman is Home Team) Saturday @ 2:00 pm @ New Caney (Dibol is Home Team) If game 3 is needed it will follow 30 minutes after game 2. Tickets: $5.00 and $3.00
  8. The debate has been discussed before and every year the coach will choose what is best for HIS team that year. I doubt anyone argues that the team who wins the state championship is NOT the best team? UIL allows the coaches to agree or "flip" a coin, it can go either way for you. Ultimely you have to have your team prepared to win one game or a series. Yes, one inning can lose it for you, but everybody got the same number of "at bats". I did not see the BC coaches complaining after the game, they sucked it up, shook hands and went about their business. Besides, the State Tounament is a single game and not a series.
  9. Very proud of these kids, had Prom last night and then had to play at high noon today. Great group of seniros who decided it was important to go to bed early last night, and then win a game today. Next up is Dibol, day/place/time to be determined Monday. GO FALCONS!!!

  18. No requirement to ever play 2 out of 3 games, read below from UIL: 3) PLAY-OFF GAMES Pre-Planning • Details of all play-off games from bi-district to state shall be arranged by the two teams involved. This includes site selection. In case there is a dispute regarding a neutral or home site or time of a game, it shall be settled by the flip of a coin (Note: Unless mutually agreed, all games shall be played at a midpoint site for schools located more than 100 miles apart.) • Bi-district games may not be played until after the final date for district certification in that respective conference, unless permission is granted by all possible next round opponents. All other playoff games may not be played until after the final date for completion of the prior round championships. • Play-off games may not be played until after the final date for completion of the prior round championships, exception bi-district. Single Elimination or Two-Out-of-Three Series • Play-off games may be single elimination or two-out-of-three from bi-district to state. If neither method is mutually agreeable, a coin flip shall determine play-off format. Two-out-of-three • If a schools play a two-out-of-three elimination series, the first (and only the first) game may be played prior to Friday, provided there is no loss of school time traveling to or participating in the game. Please refer to the C&CR, Section 1220 (h) for rules regarding two-out-of-three game series. • Schools playing a two-out-of-three series should set parameters for the series prior to the first game. The parameters should include, but not limited to the following areas: how the schools will handle weather problems and delays, how far schools will travel to find an available field, giving up home field advantage and securing officials must be discussed before one team gains a position of advantage after the first game is completed and the weather is a factor. • A two-out-of-three series that does not get a complete game in by the end of the day Friday automatically reverts to a one game series. 30 Post-Season Regulations • If one game is played and a second game cannot be played on Saturday because of weather, then the winner of the game advances to the next round. • If two games are played (and split) and the third game cannot be played on Saturday because of weather conditions, then the third and deciding game should be played on Monday of the next week.
