"Party school" is/was a bad rap. I do not know any umiversity that does not have their fair share of parties. It has grown so much that when we go visit it's hardly recoginizable. It's still beautiful though.
I love the Longhorns. Grew up loving the Longhorns. I felt like UT was too big for me and besides a little blonde headed girl went to SWT. I support SWT financially through our alumni association, but it's a lot easier to follow and watch UT athletics. Plus, it's easier to find UT t-shirts. When I talk to students I always push Texas State first. It's a great university.
He will be gone before Christmas. I think he's done a good job with the Strong and Smart hires. The Athletics department is making money. Not sure what the good ol boys want. I'm betting they just want things to be like they were-unlimited access. As for charging alums to be on the field, I'm not sure what that is in reference to. The article indicates that it was not during a game. [Hidden Content]
Most people see baseball as a "rich kids" sport. It's the Polo Club of college athletics. Those kids without financial resources are usually who the MLB scouts feed on the most.
I go by the old adage: It's not the arrow, it's the Indian. Louisville Slugger puts out a good product. I have always been happy with the quality of their bats. I know Marucci makes a hell of a good wood bat, their BBCOR bats are fairly new to the market. I would not play with anything but a wood bat in the summer/fall. Forces you to become a better hitter in the spring.
They said the man in the gray jacket was a Nike rep. He was yelling at the camera man and saying it was his fault. What? The guy is just doing his job.
Nope. I made that statement and I'm standing by it. To me it's funny that the biggest SEC homers did not take care of their end of the bargain. Now, if I had any further ties to aggie baseball, it might not have been so funny. I like the Statum family and would have certainly felt differently if Jace was still playing.
