  1.   I understand that, but do not encourage him to return.
  2.   That tends to happen. Every thing is cyclical. Texas is down, they will be back.   Not too long ago Alabama was a shell of its former self, now, not so much.   The LHN has been a bust. No doubt about it. UT has only benefited from a financial standpoint. That's about it.   As for the conference, if it continues to decline, UT will do what's best for UT.
  3.   Happens all the time. Maybe not as much in football and basketball since they are usually 100% scholarships. Lots of other athletes depend on academic scholarships to offset the limited amount of athletic scholarships. Those guys can still put some money in their pockets.
  4. Yes. Happens every day. The biggest payout is from room and board. Kid gets full room and board scholarship, lives off campus with 4 buddies, pockets the difference.   Any school.
  5.   I watched it without a problem. I guess it's a matter of "want to".    ESPN has the followng listed for Saturday, September 6 for the SEC Network: 12:00 PM   Arkansas State @ Tennessee 12:00 PM   Florida Atlantic @ #2 Alabama 04:00 PM   Eastern Michigan @ Florida 04:00 PM   Nicholls State @ Arkansas 07:30 PM   Lamar @ #21 Texas A&M 07:30 PM   Sam Houston State @ #13 LSU   What is the Alternate Channel choice? I sure would like to watch the 9th best team in the country play the Fighting Cardinals.
  6. SEC Network Saturday, 6:30 PM Sam Houston St at LSU Or Lamar at UTAM Man, those are some marquee match ups. Lots of playoff implications.
  7. UT Off Coordinator has not "ruled out' Ash playing again this season. Not a good sign. Hopefully they are just saying that up front knowing it should not happen.
  8. Winning all that money at the Derby did not help him stay under the radar. Should have just rocked Tom Ford. Wonder about Mr Brady who was there with him.
  9. The rapper has more common sense: Bun B (@BunBTrillOG) tweeted at 0:17 PM on Tue, Sep 02, 2014: Like the idea of "Kenny Trill" but I think @coachsumlin would agree one good game alone doesn't make you trill. He's on his way though!
  10. It's week two. Talk to us again in week 11
  11. It's all politics. Are you saying that the ranking systems are without flaw? It is someone's opinion about who the top 25 teams are. There is very little based on fact. The only way to decide a national champion is to set a bracket and play the games. How many teams are in that bracket will once again bring politics and financial influence into the equation. For what it's worth, here's my suggestion: They need to identify 4 regional conferences with 11 teams in each: USA North, USA South, USA East, and USA West. Play a 10 game season only against the teams in your conference. The Regional Champs would be the Final Four and play out the Championship. Put all the tv money in one pot and divide it up. Those teams outside this setup would fend for themselves.
  12.   That re-match should have never happened.   With a 4 team playoff, If you have a Conference Championship game (and ALL Power 5 Conferences should be required to have a Championship game), that should be Round 1 of the playoff. If you lose the first round, you should NOT play in the Final round.
  13.   Sorry, that's not going to happen this year. If you can't win your conference, you will not be in the playoff.   As long as they are going to label 5 Power Conferences, they have to keep 3 of  the other 4 happy. One team is getting screwed as it is in a 4 team playoff.
  14.   Sometimes it's harder for the parents to let go than it is the kid.   As a university subject to liability issues, UT needs to make the decision for him.
  15.   Surely you saw the adjustments that were made following the BYU game last year. Apples and oranges.
  16. If the defense plays as well as they did, they will be ok. Not 10-2 ok, but 7-5 ok. Once again, there was a reason they retired Coach Brown.
  17. Ash needs to walk away from football. He is in danger of serious medical conditions for the rest of his life. The university needs to protect him and themselves Swooped will start against BYU.
  18. Terrible news. Thin oline just got thinner. Chip Brown (@ChipBrownHD) tweeted at 4:46 PM on Sun, Aug 31, 2014: Crushing news for #Texas fifth-year center Dom Espinosa - a broken right ankle and will likely miss the rest of UT's regular season.
  19. No conference will get two teams this year.Aggies better win the SEC Championship game. Better than Lou Holtz's that included Notre Dame
  20. Still better than anyone the Texans currently have.
