  1. Don't see any Big XII teams at this party. Probably 2 SEC teams, Oregon, and FSU.
  2. [Hidden Content]   This was by far the toughest baseball season in a while. Even the last year at UH, which was miserable in a completely different way, was not so bad. One of the main reasons we went with UH was the proximity to home. Our family would be able to see 30 home games every year, That was going to be awesome. Then, Price was released after his injury and was thankfully given a second chance at Emporia St in Kansas. We knew that we would not see as many games in person. It would just not be possible.   In January, just as the season started, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went to as many games as she could before her surgery in March. (She had her first chemo treatment last week). We have followed every game thanks to the internet. What a blessing live scoring has been.   We are ready for next year, but it's looking like it could be our last one as baseball parents. What a wonderful ride this has been.   Thanks to all of you on SETX Sports for putting up with me over the years. This site has provided me with an outlet when things have been rough especially these past few months. God or bad, I enjoy "talking" with you all.   Andy Jacobs
  3.   Well, you see, at FSU evidently they don't have to pay for too much.
  4.   You're correct. If he sits he will have one year remaining.
  5.   Whittek had not graduated yet. He will not be eligible to transfer to any D1 school without sitting a year. So, he's done
  6.   Since athletes are employees of the universities, it amounts to a "company" car. No problem.
  7.   At some point the attention becomes a distraction. It's got to be football first.   They will probably turn them loose following the Rookie camp.
  8.   9 - 7 maybe. They need a ton of help on offense. I still think they will get Mallet before it's all said and done.
  9.   Based on the APR rankings released yesterday, it seems to be more than 1 or 2 athletes.   [Hidden Content]   Remember, an APR of 925 is equal to a 50% graduation rate. Lamar was 915.
  10.   He would have one year. Not really a comparable "prospect".
  11. [Hidden Content]   Well crap, even Snoop Dog had more players drafted than UT.   Sounds like he runs a good program.
  12. Nobody hates Bama.    The L'ville program improved their APR under Strong. Was he the reason? Not sure, it could have been Patrino's influence. But, it improved none the less.   Similar to a head coach that has success with another coaches recruits.
  13.   Saw that. The Southland Conference basketball programs got hammered. [Hidden Content]
  14. This hire is looking better, and better.   [Hidden Content]
  15.   Alabama is considered the best defensive team (and for the most part the best team) in college football. Name one impact defensive player in the NFL from Alabama. Just one.   They get tons of players drafted, but very few make an impact.
  16.   Not for a 33 year old WR at the end of his career. That $16M won't help either.   The Texans drafted the player they wanted. If Andre is not happy, too bad. He can always retire.
  17.   I'm sure the family of Mr. Kyle likes that.
  18. The injury occurred in 2012. He has been limited in his ability to work out due to recovery from that and several other injuries. Bottom line, he was not drafted. He will get an opportunity to now prove himself like many other FA signees.
  19. Jackson Jeffcoat has a shoulder injury that limited his pre-draft workouts and caused enough concerns that teams shied away from drafting him. He signed a FA contract with the Seahawks.
  20. "@ESPNTexas: The nation's No. 2 pocket passer, New Mexico QB Zach Gentry, has committed to Texas. No. 72 in ESPN 300 [Hidden Content]"
