  1. Injuries are inherent to the sport of football. There is no one to "blame" for a sports hernia. It's a tear in the groin muscle. Stuff happens. I wish Mr. Locke a speedy recovery. From what I have seen and read, he is a class act and an asset to the Longhorn program.
  2. So you are arguing that with the vast resources of the University of Texas, under the increased scrutiny of the NCAA in regard to player injuries, that they do not know what they are doing?
  3. Left-hander Seth Romero has been dismissed from the University of Houston baseball team after another incident, the school announced Wednesday. Romero, a junior projected as a first-round draft pick in the upcoming Major League Draft, was involved in a fight with another teammate prior to Tuesday's game against Rice, a source familiar with the situation confirmed. Romero was reinstated May 1 following a monthlong suspension for a violation of university and athletic department policy. The Houston Chronicle reported May 3 that Romero's suspension – his second in 14 months – was the result of a failed drug test, curfew violation and being photographed in full uniform holding a bong. "Due to an event Tuesday, along with previous conduct detrimental to the team, Seth Romero has been removed from the Houston baseball program," UH coach Todd Whitting said in a statement. "I appreciate (athletic director) Hunter Yurachek's support of my decision for our program to move forward without Seth. We wish Seth and his family the best of luck as he embarks on the next phase of his life and baseball career. We are fully focused on our remaining schedule and the current members of our program." After being reinstated, Romero struggled in three appearances out of the bullpen. In his final outing Sunday, Romero allowed four runs and lasted only one-third inning in a loss to Connecticut. The earlier suspension of Romero caused a ripple effect that led to the Cougars' struggles, particularly in midweek games. At the time of Romero's suspension, UH moved standout midweek starter Trey Cumbie into the Friday night spot in the rotation. UH had lost five straight midweek games before Carter Henry's overcame a rough first inning to eventually stifle Rice 6-5 Tuesday.Multiple scouts, who spoke to the Chronicle last month, said Romero's latest suspension could cost him at least $1 million in signing bonus. Once projected as a top-10 pick, Romero has dropped to the middle or late first round on some mock draft boards. One scout said it would not be a surprise if he fell out of the first round. UH is currently tied with Central Florida for second place in the American Athletic Conference, one game back of South Florida. The Cougars play at Tulane in a three-game series beginning Friday.
  4. He and Gareri had coached together for many years at Texas City.
  5. I notice he's not humping an elephant. No one in the SEC humps an elephant.
  6. Wharton head coach Tim Finn has been selected as the next Lee football coach and athletic campus coordinator.
  7. School board is in closed session. New coach will be named soon.
  8. But if it works, legitimate NBA stars could start making their own shoes and cutting out the Nike, Adidas, and Under Arrmour altogether.
  9. Big Baller- LaVar Ball (born October 23, 1968) is a retired American football player. He played professionally with the London Monarchs of the World League of American Football (WLAF) and was a practice squad member of the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers in the National Football League (NFL). A native of California, Ball attended Canoga Park High School in Los Angeles before playing basketball at Washington State and Cal State Los Angeles.
  10. He was on Reading Rainbow. I think.
  11. He's not getting drafted, his son is. I think that's the problem. I will give the man this; people are talking about him. He has their attention.
  12. I think he has his heart in the right place. The problem is that we place the blame for his players actions on him as a coach, when it should rest solely on the shoulders of the player and his upbringing. I only have a problem with a coach if he continues to allow a player with bad behavior to represent a university.
  13. I would argue that not too many current athletes in GCCISD are going to make the move East to BH.
  14. If I am arrested for murder, will my family get the remainder of my salary?
