Larry Haynes named new AD/HC at Lumberton
Sport1971! replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Lumberton is not without talent and a decent coach should at least pull off mediocrity...i don't really think the powers to be in Lumberton expect anything different because that is really what they hired. I am not bashing anybody here just stating the obvious. LH is a good coach and was able be a middle of the road guy for the most part in Lumberton back in the day. i mean this is like pulling the old security blanket out to ward off the terrible boogieman "dismal record of performance". Nothing against LH...just thought Lumberton missed an opportunity to bring a fresh new bold look to the program followed up by results. Seems powers to be where afraid to step out and take a chance...it could not get any worse from a football standpoint, but instead they took the road already traveled that was pretty well mapped. I know alot of the kids in lumberton and I hope they have tremendous success under their new AD and Head Football Coach...I wish the Raiders Luck and I hope I am wrong. -

You could have Rex Ryan be the new coach ..but no talent or lack of athletes and it doesn't matter who coaches lol
UTFan, you still never explained your post about 2A being a lot different than 4A. Other than the obvious, enrollment, what is the big difference?
well other than the obvious, enrollment? That's pretty much everything...pure numbers typically allow a 4A team to be much stronger than a 2A team...sometimes when you get to dealing with 4A and 5A you can have some pretty intense match ups but trends say one is stronger than the other. As far as talent in Lumberton...I think they have talent and have had talent over the past years but not enough to be completely competitive. I personally would not have tried to relive the past with Haynes...to many other good coaches out in Texas football land who I think would have brought change and excitement to Lumbertons Football program...JMO -
congrats Chase!

Dont know all the results but proud of Kountze for Qualifing for 7on7 State tournament! From watching these guys practice, I sure look forward to seeing them play in the fall...hard to believe but Kountze has more skill and speed than last year coupled with bigger than average line, things look good for Kountze in Football come August. 25-AA All District Selections
Sport1971! replied to Mark Gaus's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Absolutley...really fun year...great baseball...what I really liked, for the most part we had supportive constructive conversation within our district on this forum through out this years Baseball season. Good luck to all the seniors and especially to those going on to the next level continuing their baseball play. -

That would be EC ! Why are you releasing this information before the Coach ? I would be mad if my players found out here and not from their coach. And what about the ones who didn't get anything ? This might not be a great way to find out you didn't ! You even state I think ! What if it is not true and you thought wrong and this kid reads this and it isn't ???? Just stop and Think Man !!
Soo u mad?
I don't think it was about mad...I understand the point...i just think they spoke before they completely comprehended the thread. I honestly thought all our players as well as other district players had been told since it was announced at the Kountze ISD Board Meeting...I mean there were Baseball players in attendance with the head coach along with the AD being present, so thinking that players did not know never entered my mind.

So it did come out of a coaches mouth first...sorry if anything I posted was presumptive of offensive...personally do not see what I did wrong...I even stated where I heard info in previous post.

Coach Foreman Era At Central Begins
Sport1971! replied to BMTSoulja1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
ATTITUDE REFLECTS ON LEADERSHIP! I have played aginst the talent at Central in the early days...played in the first 4-Beaumont Bowls...those teams were well coached...Central always has talent...they have missed out on good coaching. I hope Forman gets them right! -
Just wanted to say thank you to the coaches !!! Its been a great season...,. Your hard work pd off with a district championship .... To the players.... It's been a great season and I'm glad my 2 boys were a part of it. Proud of this group of players , coaches and parents.
Great post...nice see parents trying support rather than second guess and coach from the rail bird seat!

Sounds like to me that bottom line the kids are in the clear with this thing other than their season being cut short and this is a paper work administration issue. I think TAPPS should review its procedure in paper work reviews and approvals and obviously the AD should study up on the rules. Maybe TAPPS should hold a mandatory rules and policy work shop each year to try and keep this type situation from occurring again.

Coach Fackler has coached my son and never one time encouraged him to even graze the line between right and wrong...the only thing he tried to communicate was Baseball 101, good attitude, good character, good grades, and honor the game at all times. Did Coach Fackler make a mistake by not knowing with certainty the rules...Yes...Did Coach Fackler knowingly violate the rules and put his players and the months of hard work in jeopardy...No...Being the fact that this was his first year in TAPPS: Did the AD have responsibility to verify and factulize the rules, knowing he had student Athletes moving over to Legacy to participate in the baseball program...YES YES YES...The question is not with the players it's with the process, knowledge of the rules and application of the rules by ADULTS! I understand the rules and why they are in place...and I'm sure Coach Fackler and powers to be at Legacy NOW have a pretty good idea about them as well. On a better note, wow what a season for Legacy and just think how great things will be next year!

UIL usually allows the teams to play Monday to determine who advances. Would just be 1 gamers though.
Thanks...that's better than a dern flip of a coin...but then if you don't have 50/50 shot at winning maybe not a big deal...could be plus. LOL!

Wondering how much the role the weather will play in the games schedule Friday and Saturday. What happens if rain cancels games...I guess they move it around till the find a playable field? Time is an issue.
