  1. Not denying it, was jerking chains. I think I see the disconnect though. We are not talking about the best HIGH SCHOOL players here. You said you don’t see McClure as a D1 player. HUGE difference. Donohoe, who you brought up, is a prime example. Easily could argue he’s a better HS player and you would be right imo. By the same token, Ryan was a mediocre D2 player in college. Also as we pointed out, I would argue that Braelon Bush (who has already proven he’s a legit D1 btw) was a better HS player than Greg Brown. Same HS class, Braelon was better in HS. Greg, however, is having a great freshman season at Texas and will likely be a mid first round pick in next year’s draft.
  2. Yes, you do 😂
  3. Knowing who it was now, you can take that story to the bank. Paul is a good dude, and he is a passionate guy. Sounds like he found a ref with rabbit ears and that was the end of it. Glad to hear it from him and doesn’t sound like it had anything to do with any of the Tiger players.
  4. You are awfully sensitive with the “basketball gods” and “I know you’re never wrong” comments. You just keep making comments like this one that reveal you are more than a little off with your evaluations. But to use one kid who you are mistaken about, again, I am willing to bet McClure averages more than 6 pts and 3 rebs at Lamar. Same school, same coach as Bosha played at/for. And I am wrong on occasion. I sat in a gym in Duncanville several years ago and argued with one of my best friends that Texas should hire Shaka and he argued they should hire Buzz Williams. This year aside (where Shaka is trying to prove me right), I have still admitted to him many times that he was right and I was wrong. And he knows a little about the sport too...his sons played for Calipari at Kentucky
  5. I’ve also read some posts on here by some regulars (earlier this season) how they were much better this year without Hefner. An unselfish, high major kid. And that doesn’t even factor in the other seniors who were really valuable pieces. Talk about looking at a record without looking at a team...
  6. That all starts with Silsbee’s youth (LD) program. Silsbee is one of the few places that actually teaches kids how to correctly play defense. They don’t feed them the myth that basketball is a non-contact sport. And while I have to admit I haven’t seen a single Silsbee little dribbler game that wasn’t against another town, I’m assuming they try to have games officiated properly. Conversely, you have other towns where they grow up used to getting every touch foul, momma’s get upset when someone bodies little Johnny, etc. So when you play Silsbee, they are playing dirty because they play hard, physical defense. Would grate on my last nerve sitting in the stands listening to that.
  7. Started out as a preferred walk on at HBU and then ended up transferring to a D2 (I believe).
  8. You are absolutely right on Prudhomme. Missed him. Loved Saladin’s game but McClure’s size and athleticism puts him on a different level. But no one got more out of what God gave him than Michael Saladin.
  9. Yep. Forgot about him. So no one that I can remember between Prudhomme and Parquet (if you count Eli). I actually would also put Throop ahead but I consider him an LCM Bear.
  10. I forgot about West Brook’s Parquet. But yes, if you count him as a Hawk (and he certainly doesn’t), Eli is definitely better. If you don’t count Parquet, you would go back to Kenyon probably. Yes, I’m skipping Zjori. And I would bet Brock averages more than 6 & 3 for his career as a Cardinal.
  11. HJ troll. McClure is better than any Hawk in quite some time.
  12. Look, Silsbee had a wake up call last game and they weren’t going to overlook Lumberton and Mr. McClure. It is a testament to how far Mitchell has brought this program that this was considered a big game for Silsbee (that and the great divide in this district). Silsbee seems to be getting better each game, which is what you would expect from a young team with a veteran coach. They still can be beaten in this district if they don’t come ready to play. But I think tonight showed us that if they do have their heads on straight, young as they are, they are still the big dog in this district by a good bit. On a side note, good to hear you on the call again @AggiesAreWe
  13. Young Tigers steadily improving. Liking my bet more and more. Need to make more of these free throws though.
  14. Has Sark ever offered up his wife though? I here jumbo holds the ncaa record for being cuckholded by his own players...
  15. Somebody direct those kids to the politics board....
  16. Filed this afternoon: [Hidden Content] For the record, I’ve read the actual pleading (which was a brief, one page motion). I will say I would not be comfortable making such accusations against a client of mine, especially in such a manner, even if I believed them to be true. There are much easier ways to withdraw from such a representation, without disclosing information that may breach your ethical duties to your client.
  17. I see Mr McClure had 42 & 16 last night. Friday will be interesting. It is really tough to handle the waves of pressure that Silsbee throws at you for an entire game. I expect Brock will perform admirably, much like I hear Boudreaux from BC did last night against the Tigers. When you have seasoned, 3 and 4 year starters, it certainly helps. This game will be the one to watch. Regardless, I think this is the 1-2 matchup most of us expected at the beginning of the season. Hope both teams have a competitive, healthy game.
  18. I will grant you Wise is a better recruiter than an Xs and Os guy. No argument out of me there.
  19. You may be right. But Hicks has them only behind Atascocita and Elkins on his latest ranking. My guess is the true answer is somewhere between his and your estimation. Good news is we will get our answer on the Hightower/BU issue. On another note, can you imagine how many championships your Lions would have if they had a coach like Brian English of Nederland or even Coach Green of BU? Might have been scary.
  20. Point taken but it’s really tough to prepare for BU when there are no teams which compare with BU around here this year. Tough to prepare for that kind of talent without facing that kind of talent. And no one else around here has it. They are quite simply going to blow the doors off of most of the teams they will play.
  21. How is there room for that?? You’ve been wearing that bad boy like a face thong for almost a decade!!
  22. C’mon man. Don’t mess up a good piece of meat. Medium rare!
