I know of a case right now, where a young man who is about 38 months older than the “victim” is charged with the sexual assault. Black guy, white girl, consensual relations. Same “victim” is also now pregnant with another guy’s child, said guy older than the one who has been charged with a felony. Baby daddy is not black and no charges have been filed on him - “victim” and he are still a couple and her family has never filed a complaint with law enforcement. Maybe that can clear it up for some of you how race can be a factor.

The only school to have a first round pick in the most recent NFL, NBA and MLB drafts? Texas Tech University.

Concerning The Caronavirus, Let's Get Real For A Second Shall We?
TxHoops replied to Reagan's topic in Political Forum
I’ve listened to this guy since this thing started and he seems to know his stuff. A healthy mix between stay cautious and this isn’t the end of the world. Anyway, some of the medical advances being made seem to be promising and ahead of schedule. -
Braelon Bush TABC 4A Player of the Year
TxHoops replied to kingjames's topic in High School Boys Basketball
That’s the way I read it. Sarcasm and the like doesn’t always translate with the written word. I read it like someone who was watching the Jordan doc on ESPN saying - yeah that Michael Jordan was pretty decent. When you threw in the “short” reference, I got it. -

Braelon Bush TABC 4A Player of the Year

I am guessing he’s being facetious. Also congrats to 2A POY Jay Buckley from Shelbyville. Another kid in our coverage area who has had a “decent” career. -
SETX 2014 Allstars vs SETX 2020 Allstars
TxHoops replied to Texas Hooper's topic in High School Boys Basketball
3 of the 5 2014 starters played a lot with their back to the basket. And Q was capable of doing it as well. He played above the rim even shooting jumpers so he’s a tough matchup for the 2014s. He’s also the best on ball defender which you need playing Bush. Problem is rim protection when you have a size mismatch. You have Clover who can block shots and the next best one you have is definitely Hefner. 2020 gets murdered in the paint. I don’t see it anywhere close to a 5/5 tie. -

Well deserved! -
The above contains my thoughts on the death certificate issue. I would say that on almost every level (except the tin hat one) it is believed this virus has been underreported. And logically that would make sense. More so when you factor in how bad these tests apparently are.

SETX 2014 Allstars vs SETX 2020 Allstars
TxHoops replied to Texas Hooper's topic in High School Boys Basketball
He scored more because WOS had Q running the offense. Saw them play against each other several times in Hs. Never a doubt who the better player was on the floor. Bosha was a better shooter but Paige shot the ball well. Q was better at literally every other facet of the game. Wasn’t especially close actually. If you were going to put someone else in that spot from that season, it would be Nijal. He and Paige were on a different level from the other guards not named Hunter. But he wasn’t a senior thus his absence from this list. -
SETX 2014 Allstars vs SETX 2020 Allstars
TxHoops replied to Texas Hooper's topic in High School Boys Basketball
‘14 at every position but the 2. That one is close (if you use Paige, not as close with Bosha). Bush is a superior scorer but Paige was bigger and a better defender. I would probably take Bush though. Both had a lot of the “it” factor but Braelon’s intangibles are off the charts. Also, if you swap ‘20’s 4 and 5s, I would take Loftin. But putting Loftin against Weisbrod is matching almost identical games, and no one played that style better than Colton. -

2014 - and substitute Laquarious Paige from WOS for Bosha. -
That would make more sense.

WO-S Head Basketball coach reassigned
TxHoops replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Coach Barstow took a job at Brewer Hs in the Ft Worth area coaching golf and teaching math. Good luck to a good guy. And the thought of him on the hush hush terrain of a golf course amuses me more than a little bit. -
[Hidden Content] Wow. This covers all sports but posted here for basketball. Did the ADs (I.e., football coaches) vote for the basketball honorees? No disrespect to Caesar but did these guys never see a Silsbee game? Bush is the obvious choice but United’s Harrison is on a different level as well. Or even the big fella Loftin from Memorial. Ultimately, doesn’t mean much but still a big shocker and head scratcher.

I know some who wouldn’t complain if Trump went all “Neil Reed” on Pelosi...

Don Dodge, the Methodist minister, was Todd’s dad. His mom was actually my algebra teacher after they moved away from SETX. His little sister Donna graduated a couple of years ahead of me.

You know, I said at the beginning of this that our leaders were in a no-win situation. If they do little to nothing and we got in a situation like Italy, they would have been crucified. If they act and the virus turns out less deadly than it would have been without taking precautions, people will say they overreacted. And really there is no way of knowing. The only measurement we have are the initial “projections” which we have stayed significantly under. How accurate those would have been is, again, impossible to tell. But to waste more time and money over this silliness is ridiculous. What about investigating those who were consuming the President’s time in a charade that everyone knew would fail. He could have had more time to devote to this pandemic issue that they now find all consuming. Or how about when he closed travel to and from China and was criticized by some of these same folks who say he hasn’t done enough? You guys know I can be as critical of Trump as the next guy but the fact remains that he is dealing with something that this country hasn’t faced in a century. All in all, it seems like despite what has come out of his mouth at times, he has tried to navigate it as best he can. Which is pretty typical of his administration in general - Don’t be consumed with what he says or tweets and look at the actions and results. I am guessing if you gave Nash money to invest and he was an imbecile on the phone while showing you 20 percent returns, you wouldn’t care so much about the phone calls.

We deal with this type of fallible logic all the time. For instance, an 18 wheeler hits a car whose driver has a heart attack immediately following the collision. Or an aneurysm explodes causing the death. Is the argument, yes, but he might have had a heart attack eventually so the 18 wheeler isn’t really at fault? You can make that argument but you would lose legally on the issue of liability. Because but for the collision, he likely wouldn’t have died right then. I am sure the same is true with the virus. Those with certain conditions are most vulnerable to being hit the hardest (I.e., dying) once the virus is contracted. In legal parlance, we call it causation. And news flash, the argument some seem to be making can be carried out as far as one would like. After all, we all are eventually going to die. And most of us will die without being able to pinpoint “100%” of the cause. Grab yourself a stack of pre-Covid autopsy reports. There will be far more with 3 or more causes of death than 1.

Democratic Georgia rep who endorsed Trump resigns after backlash

Okay, you are mostly given a pass on the bizarro website articles you routinely post on this forum. But if you are going to start posting Alex Jones links, you might as well jump on the clown car and honk the horn.

There are some pretty funny videos out there about how he abused Maher. I chose to post the one where everyone can figure that out for themselves. I will say that I believe Maher will have him back on. I think he enjoys having intelligent folks on his show, even if they disagree fundamentally. And Crenshaw is obviously exceedingly intelligent. I love his matter of fact, Joe Friday-like (Showing age here) delivery. Like I said, I’ve been a fan of his for some time and every time I hear him, I become a bigger one.
