No disrespect to Caesar but did these guys never see a Silsbee game? Bush is the obvious choice but United’s Harrison is on a different level as well. Or even the big fella Loftin from Memorial. Ultimately, doesn’t mean much but still a big shocker and head scratcher.

You know, I said at the beginning of this that our leaders were in a no-win situation. If they do little to nothing and we got in a situation like Italy, they would have been crucified. If they act and the virus turns out less deadly than it would have been without taking precautions, people will say they overreacted. And really there is no way of knowing. The only measurement we have are the initial “projections” which we have stayed significantly under. How accurate those would have been is, again, impossible to tell. But to waste more time and money over this silliness is ridiculous. What about investigating those who were consuming the President’s time in a charade that everyone knew would fail. He could have had more time to devote to this pandemic issue that they now find all consuming. Or how about when he closed travel to and from China and was criticized by some of these same folks who say he hasn’t done enough? You guys know I can be as critical of Trump as the next guy but the fact remains that he is dealing with something that this country hasn’t faced in a century. All in all, it seems like despite what has come out of his mouth at times, he has tried to navigate it as best he can. Which is pretty typical of his administration in general - Don’t be consumed with what he says or tweets and look at the actions and results. I am guessing if you gave Nash money to invest and he was an imbecile on the phone while showing you 20 percent returns, you wouldn’t care so much about the phone calls.

We deal with this type of fallible logic all the time. For instance, an 18 wheeler hits a car whose driver has a heart attack immediately following the collision. Or an aneurysm explodes causing the death. Is the argument, yes, but he might have had a heart attack eventually so the 18 wheeler isn’t really at fault? You can make that argument but you would lose legally on the issue of liability. Because but for the collision, he likely wouldn’t have died right then. I am sure the same is true with the virus. Those with certain conditions are most vulnerable to being hit the hardest (I.e., dying) once the virus is contracted. In legal parlance, we call it causation. And news flash, the argument some seem to be making can be carried out as far as one would like. After all, we all are eventually going to die. And most of us will die without being able to pinpoint “100%” of the cause. Grab yourself a stack of pre-Covid autopsy reports. There will be far more with 3 or more causes of death than 1.

In other news, the governor of Georgia has announced plans to reopen the state after building a 28-3 lead over COVID-19.

Okay, you are mostly given a pass on the bizarro website articles you routinely post on this forum. But if you are going to start posting Alex Jones links, you might as well jump on the clown car and honk the horn.

There are some pretty funny videos out there about how he abused Maher. I chose to post the one where everyone can figure that out for themselves. I will say that I believe Maher will have him back on. I think he enjoys having intelligent folks on his show, even if they disagree fundamentally. And Crenshaw is obviously exceedingly intelligent. I love his matter of fact, Joe Friday-like (Showing age here) delivery. Like I said, I’ve been a fan of his for some time and every time I hear him, I become a bigger one.

Every time I hear this guy, I am more and more impressed (Crenshaw, not Maher). I wonder if he’s not dramatic enough for the national scale, because he tends to stick to facts and reason.

Maybe you’re right. I guess it’s all perspective. I would choose the don’t comment at all until you know something for certain but that’s me. And at no point was offense remotely taken. Differences of opinion are healthy. At least when it’s adults talking and not those children in Washington.

I’m sure there is some underlying reason Harrison is making these statements. But you have a lot of kids going through a lot and missing a lot right now. Even if there is a remote chance, it is almost surely going to end up being false hope he and the uil are peddling. I am having trouble finding the benefit in that.

Greg Brown, Mike Miles, Micah Peavy, LJ Cryer, Eddie Lampkin off the top of my head. Not sure where this team wouldn’t be disadvantaged. I think you put Bryce Griggs on the team as well. He would be the only top of his class (2022) in Texas on the team since you have the top 2020 kid and the top 2021 kid from Texas already on MV’s roster.

I agree - James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Luka Doncic, LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan would take them for sure.

We are talking about this team which has both. They beat Mater Dei by 40+, DeMatha by 20, Chicago Whitney Young by 26, Atlanta McEachern by 50+, Archbishop Carroll by 50+, scotlandville (La) by 30+, and IMG by 20. All typically perennial powers from across the county. I don’t think you appreciate (from your comments only) how good this team was. You will when you watch some of those kids in the league. Like I said, when 2 of MV’s players from a recent team were top 2 picks and are now NBA all stars (played one year in college), maybe you would concede they would fare well against a low mid team, maybe you wouldn’t. Most believe this year’s team was deeper and better. My opinions don’t have “all of the value.” They might be more informed because I see most of these kids in person every spring and summer, and saw quite a bit of SLC basketball this year. But just my opinion. I happen to have one, as do you. And ultimately it’s all speculation. But it’s a fun topic while we are cooped up and bored. I’m just speculating correctly while you are not 😜
