Probably the most improved area of his game over his high school career has been defense (and shooting). I think all who have coached him or recruited him would agree. Trust me, he’s not guarding air on the Under Armour circuit. And based on his position, he was always guarding the guards/wings (mostly 2s). One of the kids he defended particularly well signed with Kansas yesterday.

They actually are a pretty strong mid major program. But still...

This. And Arkansas should have known better than to hire a guy from Edgewood, TX. Everyone knows that’s a basketball school.

Until someone proves differently, LSU would have my #1 vote and Burrow would get my Heisman vote.

Another big half from Clayson Choate. The kick return for a touchdown to answer Anahuac’s opening touchdown was awesome but the pick 6 was something special. Kid is exciting to watch in the open field.

Told y’all the district championship game was OF/EC. Those two teams are considerably better than the rest of the teams in that district.

Easily the best rivalry in SETX by a mile. One of the best in the state. No matter the week, the records, or the implications, it would be my game of the week. We just don’t have another one like. Heck, I even saw a tweet from Wade Phillips about it today.

Yes. It enabled them to acquire a 6-7 PG from the Dallas area who is projected to be the #1 pick in the draft after his freshman year of HS (by some prognosticators - I would say he will go #2 behind Evan Mobley). And the rest of the team is absolutely stacked as well. Should be another battle this year between MV and IMG for the HS NC. If Yates keeps the game “respectable,” I will be highly impressed. And I think Yates will be very, very good this year (favorites to win State). MV is still good enough to beat the brakes off of them.

Highest ranked player in the state (Roach) not from Dallas (#5 in his class) who was top 50 nationally. Another kid (Foster) who was top 20 in the state. First went Power 5 (Texas), other went Power 6 (SMU). His son also had a lot of game.

Which Green team? The one he won state with at North Shore was LOADED.

At least 3. Doakes and both bigs, at least 2 and probably all 3 starters. I’m guessing as deep as Yates plays, there are more than likely more. But the revolving doors have been going on in Dallas for years. Heck, Family Faith had a whole coaching staff in addition to players transfer in.
