That was definitely a thumping. Texas gets another gritty win last night to split the series. Razorbacks have a really solid club. Hate to admit it but navigating conference play in the SEC in baseball is brutal. Like they are as good and deep in baseball as they think they are in football...

The 30 for 30s and actual games are about all I watch on ESPN anymore. Most of those documentaries have been really well done imo.

Pitching supposedly wins championships. With the Aggie bats waking up this weekend (and against quality pitching to boot), they have the potential to make a serious run. Not sure what took so long for them to break into the polls but they have to be a top 10 team at this point. Both teams will be battle tested as there aren’t many easy weekends in those two conferences.

While watching Wapner?

I’ve always wondered what they hoped to accomplish. Not like many would even click on a post. If I was a mod having to clean all that up when I woke up, this morning’s barrage would have me on life tilt.

Buzz would be a great hire imo. Then again, I thought Shaka would be as well so wth do I know. Was really hoping Kennedy would retire (with a million reasons to do so, no pun intended). I’m sure is ended up being a $ issue. Really, really good guy. On that front, now word is Shaka is going to get another year. Not sure what caused the shift but word was he was going to be immediately taking a new job. Then again, who knows what is posturing and what isn’t anymore...

Texas brought back to earth losing 3 of 4 to the Cardinal. A&M’s arms are nasty.

I think it was actually Cuban’s brother-in-Law Hard to argue Family Faith didn’t buy one this year. Well, they bought Cedar Hill’s program at a minimum.

I only generally know about high level players because that’s who i see in the summers. So continue your argument if you wish, even though we were essentially both arguing the same side of “DFW basketball is better.” I wasn’t complaining. On the contrary, I was arguing that Dallas schools welcome the competition. And it’s no secret that DFW transfers are MUCH more likely to pass through than similar situations in Houston. Well, maybe not among the keyboard warriors...

Where did that say that anywhere in my post? The one example I posted - IMG and oak hill are not in Dallas. He transferred out and then back to DFW to a completely new school. How many examples do YOU need of players in greater Houston who had to sit out? Let’s just say this year. FYI, it’s not a short list. I wasn’t being critical at all of DFW but you obviously missed the whole point of my post anyway....

He was one of the more popular professors when I was there. He moved up the chain rapidly at the university and for good reason. RIP

I will say this: Dallas coaches don’t block players. The Ramsey kid from Duncanville switched teams more in HS than LeBron has in his entire career. Went from Mansfield Summit his sophomore year, to IMG his junior year, then went to Oak Hill to start his senior year, transfers to Duncanville during the school year and has no issue with his DEC. Happens all the time there. Then again, it’s a different mentality when you welcome competition instead of try to avoid it. Once again, it’s a different mentality up there.

In basketball, the Dallas teams are just tougher physically and mentally. That is nothing new. Although I was impressed with Klein Forest in terms of toughness and intensity.) Houston basketball has become “suburbanized.” They have a ton of skilled players but it’s a different game when the physicality comes in. Dallas still has that inner city basketball mentality.

Basically, UT has $340 million reasons to “get its basketball program right.” Everyone knew what the deal was going into this season. For whatever reason, it just hasn’t worked. I wish Shaka all the best at his next gig. He’s one of the good guys.

It is definitely in the works. He will be paid some from Texas, and some from his new employer. But from what I am hearing, the author is correct - it’s not if but when.

Entertaining tournament again this year. The games were really good except for “our” Dragons who continued to run through their opponents leaving no doubt. I couldn’t help but feel some kind of way during the 4A games. The discussion here about Oak Cliff FF aside, I just couldn’t shake the feeling the best 4A team in the state wasn’t even in SA. -

Wish they would let Craig Way do the game by himself. This color guy is awful. -
