Entertaining tournament again this year. The games were really good except for “our” Dragons who continued to run through their opponents leaving no doubt. I couldn’t help but feel some kind of way during the 4A games. The discussion here about Oak Cliff FF aside, I just couldn’t shake the feeling the best 4A team in the state wasn’t even in SA.

Duncanville outrebounds KF 48-22. Wow.

Wish they would let Craig Way do the game by himself. This color guy is awful.

Those freshmen came up big in SA.

I can’t decide if the SEC’s obsession with all things Texas is more flattering or sad. I mean, we b-slapped the consensus second best team in that conference but Bama still has scoreboard over us when we play a mediocre, second string true freshman QB....

Brock was impressive fighting through to stay in it. Madison punched them right in the mouth early. I thought Madison was the favorite going in. People like to look at records but the vast majority of 3A schools wouldn’t have been over .500 playing their schedule.

North Shore up 26-21 at half. I thought I was ranking them too high after the two losses to BU, given where they were falling in the rankings. Apparently had them too low...

Yates is better than what I thought. As previously stated, i thought they’d be an underdog against whoever came out of region 2. Those metroplex teams for whatever reason are just always extremely tough physically and mentally. And this year, they were battle tested like no other.

I’m claiming them anyway. Their beast of a big man’s daddy’s side of the family is from Orange so we are claiming him at a minimum!

When you can’t run with them, it’s easily your best chance at winning.

Exactly. Keep the game low scoring and give yourself a puncher’s chance. You’re may not be able to run away from more athletic teams but you can hit a shot at the end to upset them.

Didn’t realize Sulphur Springs best returning player, OU signee 6-8 Victor Iwuakor didn’t play this season and was homeschooled instead. Can’t imagine how good they would have been with him.

Tough to win shooting it like that. For a team like EC, that’s beyond a “bad shooting night.”

My heart was with the Bucs but I was afraid going in that Brock’s size and discipline might prove too much. I will take Madison over Brock on Saturday.

That’s what I’ve heard (similar to Argyle). When those type teams take care of the ball and control tempo, tends to really frustrate teams that like to run and gun.

I am not a fan of charter schools for reasons that go way beyond basketball. There are a myriad of ways in which they are hurting public education. I would say that when the highest ranking official in education in our country is an extremely vocal advocate for these charter schools, it’s not likely to change any time soon. But that’s a different discussion for a different board. Your point is a good one and well taken.
