  1. Reed was the most indispensable player on that team imo. He was a monster on the boards. Missing him and the leading scorer Elam...talk about a different team.
  2. Lipan has to be extremely tough to have beaten Shelbyville recently. Neither of those teams would beat this East Chambers team though imo.
  3. By the way, no more poor mouthing from Hardin folks. I discovered a Subway AND a Dollar General from my brief reconnaissance.
  4. They really are. I love sitting behind that bench.
  5. Lumberton is extremely well coached and they do a great job of dictating the pace of most of their games. That’s a different story when you play the Tigers who typically do the same, just at the other end of the spedometer. I’ve the Raiders more than once this year and they do a great job of not only preparing but in-game coaching. I will also say that Coach Mitchell made an excellent hire over the off-season bringing former Central assistant Coach Rideaux to his bench. Some schools would be wise to take a long, hard look at him if their head job opens up. That guy is a true student of the game, capable of coaching many different styles of play.
  6. Give me that North Shore kid next year along with one or two of those big uglies he has opening holes for him.
  7. I agree. The SEC bias in the sports media is as humorous as it is appalling.
  8. Yes they do - extremely hard.
  9. OF 49 Hardin 30 F Kind of an ugly game all the way around. First time to see Hardin. They were a scrappy bunch. Definitely should be a playoff team in this district.
  10. OF 37 Hardin 17 End 3
  11. OF 27 Hardin 13 H Hardin slowing it way down which is probably wise.
  12. It’s not as easy as you guys might think and these things don’t put themselves together. It takes money and manpower (usually AAW busting his hump) to get done. I know he has to ‘beat the bushes’ to get the games broadcast at state, when there are a lot of people interested in listening and not just the fans of whatever local team is playing. I’m sure if anyone knows of businesses or people wanting to sponsor a Silsbee broadcast (or other school), the staff would be all ears. There’s a difference between “I’d sure like to hear the Tigers’ games broadcast” and “I’d sure like to spend my money to hear the Tigers’ games broadcast”...
  13. You could always paint a room and watch it dry
  14. Wow. Small world. That DEC chair who is the sup at Tenaha went to a rival of HS of my own. Ended up kicking/punting at Ok St. and punting for 4 or 5 years for the Falcons. Could shoot the rock in hoops (they won state his jr year) and was a heckuva golfer.
  15. You also probably breathe through your nose...
  16. They reseed when they get to state, based on record. Silsbee could end up being the 3rd or 4th seed, due to the brutal schedule. Just depends on who ends up there.
  17. Or kid shoots a layup, both feet hit the ground, then a defender lands on top of him. Possible 4 point play or, if not in bonus, team that just scored retains possession?
  18. He’s saying it would not be a “shooting foul” because the contact was “after the shot.” He’s incorrect though and had a foul been called, it should have been 3 FTs.
  19. I think the point is that refs don’t just suck during the middle, monotonous portions of the game. Many are equally incompetent in the penultimate, game on the line situations.
  20. By the rules, most definitely a foul.
  21. I think that’s why a lot of officials don’t like to make the call, especially on a buzzer beater. I also see a lot of flopping on box outs and the like on those plays that shouldn’t be called imo either. But the defender really didn’t leave the officials a choice in this scenario. Took a straight on angle jumping directly into the shooter and made as much after the shot contact as I’ve ever seen (literally layed him out). Maybe all 3 officials followed the ball to the rim after it was released and didn’t see it (like ST413). That would make sense. If they saw it and elected not to make it, it’s a really bad no call.
  22. Respect that about you. Disagree with you at times but you call em like you see em, even when it’s against your rooting interest. Agree completely. I also saw the video. Most refs don’t like to make that call but defender took a terrible angle and completely leveled the shooter. Way too much contact to swallow the whistle. Horrible no call. Making 3 FTs under that type of pressure situation is very tough, even for a really good FT shooter like that kid apparently is. But he should have had an opportunity.
