RIP to a true class act. As my pal Hagar often says, reminds me of the old S&G lyric, “where have you gone Joe DiMaggio, our nation turns its lonely eyes to you.” Regardless of how you viewed his politics, he and his bride brought great class and dignity to the White House. One can only hope they are enjoying a reunion of epic proportions up above after their brief separation.
No doubt that was a huge hurdle they couldn’t clear. By the same token, no one has had a night on a CT defense like Jasper had early this season and we won’t likely see one again anytime soon, certainly not this season the way he has them playing now.
But the ones on the field played in a game I have a feeling will be talked about for many years to come. Had that kind of feel to it.
I literally almost started a thread (because I knew one would come out just after, if not just before the end of the games) titled “The Battle of the Two Most Spoiled Fan Bases in SETX.” (WOS for football obviously, and Silsbee has been the standard for overall athletic excellence for the last several years.) I really think this is going to be another instant classic type game though.
But honestly, I think it’s the reverse. Silsbee coaches have to get their kids believing they CAN win. Regardless of trash talking over the years, the Mustangs have owned the Tigers. That can effect your psyche. I would want my kids coming in with swagger and confidence. Because you better believe the Mustangs believe they will win every time they line up against them.
Likewise impressed with the Bulldog D. Other than some big plays, a whole lot of hitting and run stopping tonight. If you love old school football, tonight was a classic.
Shot 5-27 beyond the arc. Tough to win. Radford is a tournament team with a win in South Bend already this year. Not a good loss but not a horrible one. You aren’t beating them without playing a decent game.
A Cornel Thompson team is playing in December like they have every single year he’s been the coach there. Almost makes me care enough to go pull early season threads where people were b$:).)ing about his coaching.
