  1. Makes sense. I would go Huffman, Livingston (assuming they didn’t play out of their minds tonight), Liberty/Shepherd. Haven’t seen Shepherd this year though.
  2. It may have been they played really well tonight but they are 10-20 pts better than the Liberty team I saw last week. Both teams played really well tonight.

  4. Coy Bryant with his 6th 3 of the game at the buzzer for the win.
  5. OF 81 Livingston 79 F Livingston is going to be tough this year. Play very aggressively on the defensive end and have a couple who can really shoot it. Also have a some length. If I’m handicapping that district, they’re the best team behind Huffman.
  6. OF 60 Livingston 59 End 3 Very good game here.
  7. OF 41 Livingston 33 H
  8. OF 18 Livingston 17 End 1
  9. I wasn’t going to comment because sometimes it’s tough to say who is the “best” player on any given team. Sometimes it’s obvious. Take Silsbee this year - I honestly couldn’t say who is “best” because you have a few who do different things exceptionally. Nice problem to have. Similarly, that Big Sandy team was loaded. I think he is probably talking about Benson Williams who was a great player as well. I even really liked the kid who played post on that team (JoJo I think). One of my all time favorite SETX teams to watch.
  10. Angel Bullock. He was some kind of player.
  11. Or maybe mix it up. Some softer opponents for wins and some tougher to prepare for what you will see in district. That way the first time you see EC, it won’t seem like you’re in the Indy 500 driving a Yugo.
  12. Tennessee looks legit this year. Barnes has done a really good job everywhere he’s gone. You’re right about Tech. Tough to gauge how good they are with the schedule they’ve played. Texas snaps a 3 game skid today with a win over a pretty decent Purdue team despite a 40 pt effort by Atascocita’a Carsen Edwards. Took 11-25 3 pt effort to win. Looks like we will win this year when we shoot it really well, and struggle when we don’t. Other than the UNC game (where Roach went nuts), haven’t been overly impressed.
  13. Maybe the best HS tournament set up I’ve seen. HJ has it down to an art form for sure. Good luck to the Dragons. Hope you guys cut down the nets in SA.
  14. For those inquiring minds, Hefner dropped a 30 piece with six 3 balls. He continues to shoot it the way he has been, he’s going to a whole other level.
  15. Championship game will be WOS vs Splendora at 5pm. Silsbee vs Orangefield on the girls side at 3:30 pm.

  20. Not sure of exact score of the Jasper-OFJV game but it was around 30 like Coach Shu said. Jasper beat FTCA 60-55 on Thursday as well.
  21. I believe they won and play Orangefield at 12:30 in the 3rd place game. Splendora and WOS in championship game.
  22. Great job silsbee! I spoke to two different people this week who would be considered in the WOS camp and whose opinion I respect. Both said they thought Silsbee had the more talented and better team. And both thought WOS would win. One told me he thought this team was easily Cornel’s best coaching job. Congrats to the Tigers for getting over that hump. Now go add another state title to that trophy case!
  23. Yeah, what kind of coach makes the state quarterfinals or better in EVERY season he’s been the head coach
