  1. They also took the other team’s best shot. Caldwell, who is the second best player in the league (imo) behind McNeese’s Shumate, went for 30 and 12 tonight. 30 is his career high and the 12 boards were one shy of his career high. The next two home games will tell a lot because McNeese and CC A&M are the toughest two opponents in the league.
  2. They have now beat 2 of the top 5 conference teams on the road (tonight and Nicholls). Have lost to two bad teams on the road HCU and UIW but responded well this weekend with this one and Saturday’s blowout of UNO. And both the Nicholls win and this one were in OT. Always encouraging to win those kinds of games in hostile environments.
  3. Not sure where that comes from, ma’am. I’ve always thought Whitmire is pretty composed on the sidelines, and the majority of the games I’ve seen him coach were AGAINST Orangefield.
  4. Out of likes. One issue that concerns me is the attempts to reduce funding from public schools to give it to families that home school or send their kids to private school. I believe that is one issue Dade has butted heads with the conservative platform and that is one where I happen to agree with him. And it’s nice to have the speaker from our area obviously. I struggle though because I know his main opponent personally and he’s a very good man that I believe most of this board would really like.
  5. And he’s very accessible to the students. And not just the athletes. He and his wife are just incredible people.
  6. Excellent question. Not that it’s unusual I guess. Amazing how often a politician cries about dirty politics while holding a handful of mud.
  7. My apologies if there is already a thread on this but I didn’t see one. Genuinely interested in what you guys think about this race. 1) who would you like to win? 2) is Dade Phelan in danger of losing his seat?
  8. I know you are joking but Sal and whoever else can call for all the coaching changes you want (and might be justified). But let’s all pray Dr. Taylor is here for a long, long time. Easily the best president Lamar has had in a long, long time.
  9. Orangefield 177 Kountze 17 Put that on your bulletin board Kittens.
  10. What about a former DC/now AD/HC at another local school in an adjoining county to the east? @SmashMouth - hook your guy up!
  11. Oh we can be very guilty of animal cruelty ‘round here…
  12. Thanks for agreeing to be our opener 😉
  13. Had to have been written in braille…
  14. You might be right buddy.
  15. Can’t see that happening (with Kamala). If they do a bait and switch, I think it will be Newsome. Kills two birds because they have to dump Harris in doing so (can’t have running mates from the same state). I thought that would be the play all along but getting pretty late in the game.
  16. This is excellent. Thanks for laying it out for us.
  17. Or what they were doing taking him 😂
  18. what a random, terrible guess 😉
  19. Kountze -8??? You’re losing a step buddy. (Actually I thought that was a pretty tight line when you posted it.)
  20. Yep. The Calmese kid from Lamar is getting decent minutes due to his injury. And Wes was dominating Calmese at Lamar open gyms when he was at United. Of course, Yates was better than a LOT of SLC guards when he was still in HS and Nate struggled guarding them as well.
  21. Just because the kids are better at basketball, doesn’t mean it’s not still a poor district. And for me, it’s more the kind of music than the sound system anyway. And if that didn’t make me sound old enough, it IS too loud for me, even if it was music I actually enjoy. But that’s just the way it is most places now days I suppose. On the up side, come to Lamar games. They’re still rocking YMCA and Cotton Eyed Joe 😂🤣
  22. Could the Indian “faithful” care less about basketball?
  23. NFL? I can see your point. Day has gotten a lot of criticism at tOSU for a coach who has won close to 90 percent of his games as their HC…
